If I could give no 0 stars I would. Had a 10am appointment to be picked up at the body shop. Progressive setup the rental with them. Its almost 10:45 & the still haven't arrived yet. I called before the appointment to confirm and after I checked in at the body shop. Same story they are on the way soon. If I had known they were this unprofessional I would've made alternative arrangements to get dropped off at the store for the rental. No calls from them with an eta & to think I still have to go there to do all the paperwork for the rental. I wouldn't recommend them at all at this point. if they can't handle a simple pickup I know the rest of the process will take longer than estimate. Update after finally getting picked up. The process is as smooth from there. The reason for the initial issue the first representative didn't know I was onsite at the shop is what he said. I rented a car from enterprise rental car on Montgomery Highway and simply had the best experience. I had no expectations other than to pick up and return a reliable car, but I ended up laughing and impressed with the efficiency. Shelby had several one liners that were "clean" and had the lobby customers laugh out loud! Even joking about one gentleman's hat (Georgia Bulldog). They were so busy, and actually low on rental cars, but they were managing returns and check out as quickly as possible, keeping everyone informed. 0/10 experience. Reserved a vehicle 6 months ago. They called me saying they had an influx of reservations and wanted to make sure I still wanted to rent. I confirmed and they asked me to come make a payment and sign that day (yesterday-Friday 11/21). I went to the office to sign, pay, and did the vehicle inspection. A few hours later they call to tell me there is a recall on the vehicle and that they are working to find me another but that they have refunded my money. I never heard back. I called from 9 am until I went to their office at 1130 (30 minutes before close). The manager says "I know you've been calling all day but we've been busy". How do you know I've been calling when you haven't bothered to answer the phone? Then she says she can only get me into a car significantly smaller than the one that I rented. We are traveling 18 hours away with 6 people and luggage. She made the call to get us into the smaller vehicle while we were there. Prior to that, no effort was made to get us into another vehicle. They are now closed and I never heard a word back. We asked how we could guarantee a vehicle in the future if reserving 6 months in advance does not do it and the manager just stared. We have called customer service who was not aware of the recall, said that the Dothan location was still accepting reservations for the class of vehicle that I initially reserved and they have now escalated my complaint to "higher management". They tried to call the Dothan location 3 times with no response. I will report back any updates and will file a consumer complaint as well. read more

I recently rented a vehicle from Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Dothan, Al, on Montgomery Hwy. I couldn't be more pleased with the experience! The customer service was outstanding from start to finish. A young lady called while I was on my way to let me know that my car was not there yet but they had cars on the way and she was giving me a courtesy call. I arrived 30 minutes early and the staff was incredibly friendly, professional, and efficient, making the whole process seamless and hassle-free. I was not only 30 mins early, I was also going one way to Atlanta airport, which meant they were also losing a car from their fleet. I explained to my Rep Alex that I had to make a flight and he assured me they were working to get a car for me. A young man (appeared to be a manager) went outside, checked the inventory and pulled up a small SUV, (an upgrade) the vehicle was in excellent condition and clean. Alex asked me to follow him out to the vehicle, where he gave me his business card and Thank me for the business. I had to call my mom to pick me up and bring me to Enterprise. When I arrived they had over 8 people waiting for a vehicle to be "cleaned." I have always been loyal to Enterprise, but the past two experiences have been extremely unpleasant. First, my family and I had an incident with a rental vehicle on the highway and the windshield busted. We contacted customer service and road side assistance to coordinate a vehicle swap but they were unable to facilitate. Rental agreement reference 7SMFZQ. The VERY next rental, we had an oil leak and needed to swap vehicles. Contacted road side assistance, customer service, called several local branches, elevated the case within Enterprise, AND they still were not able to facilitate the swap. Rental reference 826YVQ. My family and I welcomed our first child this past year and do not feel safe using Enterprise moving forward. i had a reservation for a car rental with the enterprise car rental office in dothan, al on montgomery hwy on april 1st so that my husband and i could move from here to sc and finally see my family for the first time in eight years and i could be there for my mom's surgery she's having soon.... anyways, being that i'm ( a temporarily homeless) disabled veteran currently living in the motel 6 and i had planned on relocating to sc where i already had a trailer waiting for me and my husband to show up and sign the rental agreement and claim the keys to the property, you can see how anxious i would be to get the car rental and get it packed up and on the road and arrive at my destination.... only to be denied by the customer service representative!!!! bc even though i had sufficient funds on the debit card.... i didn't have the two proofs of address/utilities in my name that was required in order to be allowed to pay for the car rental using my debit card!!! and then to make it worse, i had my mom on the phone with me as i was standing in front of the representative and she could have verified her credit card and driver's license information directly to the customer service representative and put the car rental reservation in her name and then just added me to it as an extra driver but the representative refused to even assist with that option and she didn't even think to get her manager to see if it would be ok, which i'm sure it would have bc i've rented from the exact same location not even 2 & 1/2 years ago without any problems/complications!!!!! and i didn't even complain about the fact that i was standing out in the 95° heat for over an hour that time bc we were in the beginning of the covid-19 epidemic!!! but this is really hurtful to be 100% completely denied and dismissed like i don't even matter bc the customer service representative doesn't want to take the time to seek a suitable resolution just bc the office is full and i didn't once raise my voice or curse at anyone nor was i ever disrespectful in any way towards anyone!!! i was very polite the entire time. the only thing i did was start to cry when she told me "no" and refused to find a solution in any way bc i've been trying to get to sc for six months already!!! i wouldn't recommend this car rental agency to anyone unless it's your absolute last route!!!! if it was humanly possible, i'd give them a negative rating for lack of compassion and empathy!!!! i'd rather rent a u-haul if it wasn't for the fact that you have to bring it back to the same place you usually rent it from!!! i hope that karma finds this business! most especially, the representative that handled my check in that morning! read more

The inside of the car was disgusting. The smell was ferocious. The windows had children's handprints all over and they were covered in a white film. This certainly is not what is advertised on TV. People working are helpful and it's apparent they need additional support based on the amount of traffic at this site. A booking date and time is not a booking day and time. When you arrive they tell you they are waiting for someone to drop off the car that you booked. You'll prob get one, but not one ready when you arrive. So call ahead of time. First things first when I was transferred to the Dothan, Alabama location they picked the phone up and hung up on me. Secondly and the MOST important part of my complaint is that my Insurance helped me to set up my reservations for the vehicle. I spoke with them and was told that I had to have a Credit or Debit card to pay for the deposit. When I explained to them that I did not use Credit or Debit Cards that I all I used was cash or check, they told me that I could use my daughters card. So my daughter left work and took me up to Enterprise Rent a Car to pick up the rental. We walked in and went up to the desk and this Blonde haired girl assisted us asking for my license and card. So I gave her my license and my daughter handed her her card. I was then informed that they would not use my daughters card to secure the Deposit. The reason being that her name was not on my insurance. WHICH THEY FAILED TO TELL ME AT THE TIME OF RESERVATION. So when it was asked if there was anything that they could do to help we were told to go to the bank and get a card with my name on the card. Really Really where are you going to go and get a card with your name on it same day? So when we leave the store I call the 877 number that is on line and speak with someone to whom I can barely understand and all she can keep saying is I am sorry for the inconvenience. I am sorry but there is nothing I can do. She then says well you can always call and speak with manager from that store location. So she transfers me to the Dothan, AL location where they answer the phone and then proceed to hang up on me. Again I call them with the same thing them picking up the phone and hanging up on me. The third time someone answers the phone and I ask to speak with a manager and was asked what it was pertaining to so give her the short version of the story and she says there is nothing that we can do to assist you. Well, I said I still need to speak to a manager. She places me on hold and I wait, and I wait, and I wait and then finally someone answers the phone does not give a name as to who they or nothing just how can I help you. I explain to them the whole situation again. Just to be told well there is nothing that I can do to help you because I want to keep my job. I said well ok is there someone over you that I can speak to? I was then told no mam my manager had to leave work for a family emergency and the assistant manager is out of the office somewhere else. So I asked, "well who are you?" and he told me I am just an employee. So I asked, "well then who is a manager that I can speak too." He tells me he will call his general manager and see if he is where he can speak to me. So I then proceed to ask for another employees name the BLONDE who works in the store with him and he tells me that he can not give me any ones name. Really, ok then. So he then tells me he will text the manager my name and number and that he will call me when he is able too. All he could say as well when I explained to him that I had been on hold to speak with a manager and he is who answered the phone is I am sorry. Your tone doesn't sound to sorry and you sure don't seem to worried about helping your customers to the best of your ability. SO AGAIN WISH YOU WERE ABLE TO GIVE NEGATIVE RATINGS BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT YOU WOULD RECEIVE. Also, on another note, a paring lot with more than enough vehicles in it and you have customers sitting outside in the hot sun with no shade provided for them. A lady had already been waiting THREE HOURS and they said she had to wait at least another hour too! And she had been dropped off and was sitting in the sun about to have heat stroke! I got there before they opened because I had to work and needed it handled. After the lady got my information she then tells me that they don't have anything available right now, they would call me. The Rav4 was jumping and an alert signal continued to go off. They told my wife that we couldn't leave our vehicle there after 6. We had no way to get vehicle before 6 at this point, I was already at work and was not going to be home in time. My wife called and told her that we wouldn't be able to get vehicle before 6 she then said that's ok just so it is gone before we open in the morning. My husband left work and drove me 45 minutes to this Enterprise location. He needed to get right back to work. It was raining so I asked if there was a place I could sit inside to wait for the vehicle. Unfortunately, the office was closed due to COVID19. We left without a rental. Reading other reviews it looks like the 2 hour wait is standard for this location. Additionally, while holding to speak with a representative concerning our situation the voice mail talks about a family owned company able to give great customer service. I was hung up on several times, but kept calling back. Finally, they took my reservation and agreed to a 5:00pm pickup. They transferred me to another Enterprise where I was promptly hung up on. At 5:15pm, I called back. They explained that because I called the same day as the reservation, they couldn't pick us up. When I told them that I had two small kids with me, the mechanic was closing in 15 minutes, leaving us on the side of the road in a bad part of a town we didn't know in the dark they offered to pick us up tomorrow afternoon if we call in the morning. The car was cleaned but had not been rented out. The glasses could not be found. The manager did not care to come talk to me about my missing item. They made little effort to address my issue until I contacted the corporate office and after that they did not ask all of the potential persons that could have cleaned the car.
