I had a great experience renting through Enterprise Car Rental in Davis via an insurance claim. I worked mostly with Eli, and he was incredibly helpful every step of the way. We ran into a few hiccups at the beginning of the rental process, but Eli did everything he could to remedy the situation and ensure I was happy and well taken care of. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a car rental company and I've rented from all of them for over 20 years. 1. Driver to pick me up showed up 1 hour late from the scheduled time I was supposed to pick up the car and I'm less than 5 miles from their office. 2. I specifically asked for a Toyota Camry, TWICE. Once the day prior when I called to schedule the pickup and the second time was when I called asking where the driver was, as it was 20 minutes past my pick-up time. When I got there, they told me there wasn't one available. As we were walking out to pick up my Chevy Malibu, there was a freshly washed Camry waiting in the lot. I asked again, about the Camry for the 3rd time and I was told it was for "someone else". I think they were racist and didn't give me the car I requested because of my skin color and lied to me about the car availability like I was an idiot. 3. When they rental agent opened the door of the Malibu I got (instead of the Camry), it reeked of Marijuana. I asked the agent if he smelled it? He said he didn't know what Marijuana smelled like? Really? You're a 20-something young man and you work in a college town and don't know what the Devil's Lettuce smells like? Right. My mother and aunt rode in the car and I had to tell them that it wasn't me and I don't smoke weed. Embarrassing. read more

Worst experience with a car rental company EVER. I was directed to Enterprise Davi from Kia Davis down the street. My car was in for a recall and they said that the two company's have a relationship and I can use the Kia account to rent a car and Kia just pays at the end. Well that's all great, I had the car for 77 days accumulating a bill of over $4,600. No big deal because Kia and Enterprise said they would handle it. That was Nov. 2024. Well lo and behold April 2025 I get a voicemail from Manager Eli at Enterprise that says I owe $4,600. What?!?! This was supposed to be handled. So I immediately go down to Kia and Enterprise and speak with both, I looked Eli in the eyes and he told me not to worry that they were handling it and I told him I would call Kia corporate and try to handle as well but it's going to take 60 days according the Kia corporate. He says ok. And thanks me for coming down and not to worry. Well shocker!!!! Next week I have a charge on my credit card for $4,600 from Enterprise. And so I call Eli and he tells me how it's not his fault and there's nothing he can do. It's always someone else's fault!!!!! Well here I am the customer in between two corporate giants pissing match. And now I have a $4,600 charge that I can't pay. Unfortunately legal action is the only thing these people understand and it's going to cost them all triple. But whatever. Lesson learned. Long story short , don't use the app. The app said the store had cars in stock which they didn't have. I planned on going to a wedding and needed a rental . Luckily the store called me right away and told me they didn't have the car i selected and they were very thin on rentals . I told him the situation and the representative told me to come the next day and they would have something. They had me drive a beautiful dodge charger which was an upgrade. We needed a last minute rental in the area on a Sunday. I called Enterprise and made a reservation. Unfortunately the confirmation email was sent to the wrong address and when I arrived to pick up the car, I was told there wasn't a reservation for me at this location. I was bummed out but the young man helping us was able to locate another full size SUV and honored the price I was quoted over the phone for the original minivan reservation. Horrendous customer service from Cameron Raynor!!!! Because of him today stands as my first and last visit to enterprise in Davis, CA. He went out of his way to pick fights with me. Soon as I walked in the door he was rolling his eyes. I had never met him so I'm not sure where the bad attitude was coming from. Guess he didn't want to be at work today. After we first greeted, I went to hand Cameron my ID and credit card. He purposely let my credit card fall to the floor so that he could make the point that he didn't need payment at this point in our interaction. He should've taken both, and then handed my credit card back to me if he didn't need it yet. I didn't like the compact suv Cameron offered me and I mentioned that in my opinion compact cars had bigger trunks. He began to argue against my opinion, proceeding to list compact cars, emphasizing that my opinion was inaccurate. Then it came time for me to initial and sign the rental agreement. Cameron asked if I wanted their insurance, I declined, due to the fact that my chase sapphire reserve credit card comes with primary insurance. He argued with me about that. Insisting that my reserve card comes with secondary, and I needed to provide primary insurance. I restated that the card does in fact come with primary. This is something that can be proven with a simple google search. I also noticed that the rate was $3 higher than what I reserved it as. Cameron argued with me about that too. I've been in this situation before and knew that it was an easy fix. He refused, but decided to engage in a staring match with me instead. At this point, I no longer wanted to rent from this location. I took Cameron's card and let him know how unsatisfactory my interaction with him had been. He replied, "Go rent somewhere else." I wanted to make sure I had heard correctly, so I asked him to repeat. He proudly repeated, "you can go rent somewhere else." read more

This enterprise provided us with exceptional customer service when myself and 8 other people had broken down In our sprinter van. They were accommodating in that they were working hard to get us the most affordable price for two rental cars and when we found out our van was okay to drive they offered to drive us to the AAA repair store to pick it up free of charge. My husband had an excellent experience renting a car from Enterprise. I was not able to drop him off to get the car (interfered with my Zumba class) so he called them and scheduled for them to pick him up. At the office they did the paperwork and then went with him to the car to go over the features of the car and helped him sync his bluetooth phone. When we've rented cars at other companies they just hand you the keys and send you on your way to hunt for the car and then try to figure out how to use it so it was a very nice change for the personal service. The car was clean and worked perfectly. Returning it was quick and easy. read more

Choose any other Enterprise location!!! They gave away my rental car without any notification. They said it was because I was late, but no where in the the contract does it state a timeframe for when they would give away or cancel a reservation. I asked why they didn't call me to notify me of the cancellation and they said they receive hundreds of cancellations or no shows everyday and therefore could not call every customer. They didn't even offer to help find another car and instead offered me a card with phone numbers. I sat in the lobby and called their customer service line. I was able to find the car I needed at another location and had to get a ride to that location. CHOOSE ANOTHER LOCATION. read more

Over 40 minutes in line to find out the car I have a reservation for isn't clean. Over an hour late now because of them. With a reservation, the car should be ready. They need more staff. 40 minutes in line is not acceptable. Asked to talk to manager or a discount. Manager never came to talk to me. Car is the worst rental car I've ever driven. read more

I am already a silver member this year as I rent on average about once a month for weekend trips out of town. I really love the weekend deal, and take advantage of it during the non-summer months. He went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with the issue I was having with the rental I needed for my move. He was super friendly off the bat (he called after I returned the vehicle just to make sure I had a pleasant experience with enterprise) and then he remained so after I presented an issue that I had with the original booking, one that I had planned on calling about. It saved me the effort of remembering during a busy move to another state. He immediately took care of my needs like a professional and I will always use enterprise from here out because I know for sure now that this the company cares about customer service. You are never required to purchase the car renter's insurance. I understand you have to find out if they have insurance and do the protocol to go about doing that. A representative here said I was required to purchase it since I didn't know the deductible of my current auto insurance. How many college students really do? Waste of 36 dollars if you ask me for such a short trip. (12 dollars a day). I've rented from Enterprise in other areas and they always tell you it's never mandatory to purchase their insurance. You either have your insurance cover it, buy the renter's insurance, or risk all liability. You cannot lie to your customers. Unethical and horrible business practice. Stay away. Go to Avis. If you work for the school (UCD) , they will give you a discount of 10-15 percent off. No hassle, no pressure, no lies, and Avis is also open on Sunday. read more

So last week i scheduled a reservation for a weekend rental. I called that morning to make sure if the documents that was needed a pickup. (11:30am, the original time) The manager Edward called me and told me that they don't have any cars for my time and that he is working on getting more. People were late bringing cars in, etc. i was very upset and livid. I called a few times and the new pickup time was 4 hours from the original stated. I was upset and disappointed. At 3:00pm. Edward called and told me the car would be ready. I hopped in a Lyft because i didn't want to wait for a pickup at this point. When i arrived to Enterprise, he was very nice and courteous, he was straight to the point, reviewing specific documents and educating me about insurance. He offset costs, compensated me for their mistake, explained the way the car worked, he truly went above and beyond to rectify the situation. He broke everything down and he truly compensated me for my time and my rental. I like when a business knows they messed up but they don't wait on me to ask. It was already fixed. I will recommend this Enterprise to anyone visiting because of the way he took care of the problem. read more

He was empathetic and professional quickly swapping out my car from Lafayette with a vehicle from Davis with only a modest amount of paperwork. This experience has been one of those ultra rare incident when you received great care and services beyond expectations. My faith in humanity is restored. This office's two man crew is the best professionals. We had a tire blow out on Hwy. 80 with three kids in the car. Domenic Grove (manager) not only provided fast service for a rental but also tried every possible alternative solutions so we can get back to San Jose safely and our car towed. This Enterprise will refuse you service for the crime of not owning a credit card. I made my reservation well ahead of my trip to Davis. A day before my rental, when I was already in Davis, I received a call from Enterprise to confirm my reservation. They informed me that since I was from out of state, they would require me to show a credit card to complete the rental. I don't own a credit card. I told them this and that the credit card policy was not communicated to me online when I made my reservation. They said that it was, and showed me that if I had clicked the FAQs, followed two more links, and scrolled to the bottom of a page PAST the section on credit and debit cards, I would see that I should have called them about their card policy. It is completely unreasonable that they would expect me to understand their convoluted policy and they refused to even attempt to accommodate my situation. Because of them I was stranded in Davis as I tried to find a new rental company. Between the Ubers I had to use to get my new car and the price of a last minute rental car from the Sacramento airport, Enterprise cost me over $300 more than I had originally planned for. read more

Extremely dirty interior. The most filthiest car I have ever rented. I prefer the service from Hertz or Zipcar in Davis any day. Unfortunately had to rent a car from here as this was the assigned rental car company for my car insurance. Found it surprising that the representative did not attempt to give me a walk through of the car to document prior existing damages. Just wanted me to take the keys and go. Had to ask the representative to annotate the damage. This representative was lazy. The only good thing was that they washed the exterior of car. read more

Took complete advantage of young daughter who didn't know any better. Her car was damaged and car insurance company (Geico) paid for car rental service. She is young and when the rep at the counter told her she HAD to take all the additional coverages she just signed. NEVER once did he tell here the costs. The car insurance rental paid the car rental fee of $280 and she got STUCK paying all those additional insurances she didn't need for a total of $246. That is so ridiculous. They didn't tell her there was no option not to take the insurance, nor did they tell her how much it would cost. Her car repair company turned the vehicle in and her bank account got slammed for the $246 without any knowledge of it. They are just lucky that I was traveling out of the country when it happened. I am furious these type companies take advantage of their customers who know no better. SHAME on you Enterprise. I travel a lot for work and will make it my mission to never again use your services, as well as to spread the word on every kind of review process (I'm a #1 top review for Tripadvisor) to let them know that 1)either you train your staff to do this 2)you staff does it themselves to boost a Commission perhaps? After a nightmare with AVIS last year in Emeryville, CA, we decided to try Enterprise in nearby Davis. GREAT CHOICE. The pickup driver at the AMTRAK station was on time and friendly. The service agent at the Enterprise desk was so easy to work with. A reservation does not mean they will have a car. What is worse is they have no idea when a car will be available. "We have to wait for one to get returned" They picked me up and brought me here but have no car. There were several other people waiting with me in the same situation. Personally and for business I never rent from Enterprise for just this issue. It has been a problem for 10+ years. In this case insurance was paying so I decided to try. I should have rented my own from Hertz or Avis and then billed to the insurance. After waiting over an hour and being told they would get a care from another town which would take another 45 minutes I called my insurance company. They got me a car at a local Hertz. I then waited 15 minutes for an Enterprise driver to take me to Hertz. While it was not prepaid Hertz had cars and it was a much better experience. read more

They pretend they clean the cars and they're attentive to our covid-19 situation however I witnessed them touching the steering wheel indoor door knob of the car I was going to rent prior to me getting in and they had no gloves on. We came in to get a car since we got into an accident in Tahoe, we gave our claim number, and got out of there in a flash!
