    I made a reservation online and got confirmation for the car, I was really counting on the car…read moresince I had made plans with my family for the weekend and I called 1 and a half hour before my pick up time just to see if I could get it earlier and Abraham with Hertz answered the phone and asked the last name on the reservation and he said "Oh meant to call you to tell you I've got nothing available " to what I responded oh well that's not possible I made a reservation and got a confirmation he said oh well online does that sometimes, I said you could have emailed me or call me way in advance to let me know these things. I asked Abraham (Hertz) so that's it that's all I got I was counting on that car, is that as far as your help goes like no other option like a bigger vehicle like other place where I might be able to pick one up like nothing, he said and I quote "That's on you to figure it out". Very poor customer service and no empathy what's so ever.

I spent quite a while looking online for a car and finally reserved a premium car online to pickup at 12pm at this location. When we get to the tiny office it's closed with a sign saying be back in 15 min. Considering there was 4 people waiting already it had been a while. When the lady finally returns she doesn't apologize for the delay nothing, in fact she has a look on her face like she's bothered by all these people here. Attitude doesn't change once we get inside. Frankly she should not be in a customer service position. Anyways after waiting for all the people ahead of me I tell her I had a reservation. By the questions she asked they had not even looked at my reservation. She pulls it up and informs me she doesn't have that car. I ask her what am I suppose to do as I did reserve the car online and had a confirmation and everything. She couldn't give me an answer, basically I'm sol. Tried calling Hertz and apparently they have joined the outsource your customer service to Indian bandwagon. HORRIBLE customer service, they could not care less about the issue I am having, all they do is repeat the same thing over and over hoping you just hang up in exhaustion. Called again asked for US support and surprisingly they transferred me to someone in the US. Night and day difference, I explained the issue and she immediately contacted the location, told me all they had there was a minivan and a pickup truck. She then tried to locate something in other locations and basically there was nothing other than a Taurus at the airport. So WHY I was given the option to not only book the car I did, but I could have also booked any other number of cars it showed available when in fact all that was available in the whole area was a Taurus??? Over 2 hours of my time and gas to drive to this place completely wasted. Can you imagine had I been coming on a flight or something and had no other transportation?? Amazon can delivery an elephant to my front door next day, but Hertz can't even keep track of what vehicles they have? Needless to say I'm over Hertz.

    I have been experimenting with not owning a car and had used Zipcar a couple of times -- one car…read morewas spotless, another was dusty but fine. My last trip, however, changed my mind about the company completely. While driving on the freeway, I got tire pressure warning lights, followed by a loud flopping and then a scraping sound. I pulled over on the shoulder with cars flying by at 70 mph. It was dark and frightening. I stayed buckled in and called Zipcar for help -- but what followed was worse than the breakdown itself. The customer service team, clearly based overseas, seemed to have no grasp of the situation I was in. They repeatedly told me to get out of the car to inspect the tire and look for a spare, even after I explained I was on a dark freeway shoulder in the middle of the night. Their focus was on ending the trip and assuring me I wouldn't be charged -- not on my safety. Eventually, with no clear plan or updates from them, I accepted a ride from a stranger just to get off the freeway -- something I would never normally do. Thankfully, he was just looking for gas money and not worse. Hours later, I got texts saying a tow truck was coming, and later that the car had been towed. None of that was communicated to me while I was stranded. Maybe the car wasn't maintained properly, maybe it was just bad luck -- but what's certain is that Zipcar's customer service is completely unprepared for emergencies. I'll never use them again, and I'll warn friends and family to avoid them too.

    ZipCar was good at the beginning but it just started going downhill sometime in May 2023. Yes, I've…read morebeen late a few times but it was due to traffic which is not my fault. But this last time, it was heavy traffic and a really bad car caught on fire completely and traffic was backed up 30 minutes to an hour. I tried to call and let them know that but they didn't care whatsoever. So, they charged me $100 plus the hours that I used, too, and then, they suspended my account without letting me know when I was tried to go to my account and pay for the cost. I called and there were no English specialists or customer service agents that I could understand. I asked them questions but they didn't even answer my question clearly. If I am suspended, how long am I suspended for? 6-8 weeks? Forever? Like give me more information than, "this is a final decision and it can not be reversed". That's not an answer to my question at all. Then, you guys still want me to pay but I can't even continue to use ZipCar after that. That's a waste of my hard work money that I earned. Ever since I started using ZipCar, it's been problem after problem with their own property, I was stuck out in the heat for 3 hours because their ZipCar wouldn't even start. I had to call customer service and they had to transfer me to a technician just to work on their own stuff for them when they could have sent someone out. If I am suspended, they could have said, "6-8 weeks like they do with car accidents" which I think is crap. If a late person can impact another member so can a car accident can impact another member. If you guys can suspend someone who had a car accident for 6-8 weeks, you can suspend a person who is late for 6-8 weeks. At least give them some type of clear explanation instead of the crap, "final decision and can't be reversed" nonsense. That's not my question. HOW LONG WILL MY ACCOUNT BE SUSPENDED FOR?!? 6-8 WEEKS??? A MONTH??? A YEAR??? INDEFINITELY?!? LIKE SERIOUSLY?!? DO ANYBODY HAVE ANY COMMON SENSE WHEN IT COMES TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ENGLISH?? At least, give people a chance to pay for their balance instead of closing their account. That's how you lose CUSTOMERS!! Duh! I'm not going to keep calling ZipCar because they give me bullshit answers anyways! Gives me more motivation to fix my own broken down vehicle even quicker now. Thanks, ZipCar for your poor customer service and lack of information!
