I did not have a good feeling about the car they gave me because it felt like something was off when I turned it on, so I asked if I could exchange it and they said this is the only midsize we have. I was driving on the interstate with a couple other friends and the check engine light came on. Needless to say this was a stressful experience to drive several hours on the highway with a check engine light in what was supposed to be a reliable rental car. when we reached our destination, we were able to exchange the car for a different one, however I heard several people come up to the New Avis, saying similar things about a car that they got from near the location where we did and that there were problems with their cars. This is unacceptable, unsafe, and deceptive.

Every time I was told that the local branch or a supervisor would call me back. No one ever did. Not a single follow-up. Support continues to apologize but claims they "cannot assist with refunds" and only offer to "send feedback" again, which has clearly gone nowhere. This is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. At this point, the issue remains unresolved, my money has not been refunded, and I've wasted significant time chasing a mistake that should have been corrected immediately. I would strongly caution others to be careful with billing and to expect poor follow-up and accountability if something goes wrong.

Pulled off and my husband noticed that the cars under carriage had a flap dragging under the car and didn't feel like it was safe to drive 3 and half hours away. So we turned back around and told her we were concerned. She proceeded to look up from scrolling on her social media and say I don't have anything else. Not one time did she come outside to check the car or apologize about the car's condition or try to reassure me. Her only suggestion was to go to another Hertz location and try to get another rental. Whoever hired her needs to rethink the fact she is in a People facing role and send her furthest away from the door as possible. I'm looking at other cars in the lot and not one time did she offer those or even try to provide me with any other options.
