I normally don't write reviews, but my experience with Enterprise has been nothing short of infuriating. Nearly 10 months ago, I rented a vehicle from them that turned out to have expired registration and inspection. As a result, I received $250 worth of tickets--tickets that were entirely Enterprise's fault. Despite acknowledging the issue early on, they have refused to issue my refund for almost a year. What's worse, I've been ignored repeatedly--emails and calls go unanswered, and every time I manage to reach someone, I'm given the same empty promises or told to "resend documents" they've already had. To make matters worse, this entire ordeal unfolded during one of the most difficult periods of my life--I lost my father and had to move out of the area shortly after all this happened. Even so, I've tried time and time again to resolve the situation calmly and professionally. Instead, I've been met with complete indifference. Now, after months of silence, they're suddenly demanding copies of the tickets that I no longer have--tickets they should have record of, since the expired registration was their own violation. The lack of accountability, empathy, and customer care from Enterprise has been astounding. I would strongly advise anyone considering renting from them to think twice. If this is how they treat loyal customers when their own negligence causes the problem, imagine how they'll handle anything else that goes wrong. read more

This place has the worst costumer service. The people are to busy on their personal phones. When you call and ask questions it takes forever for someone to answer the phone. They also do not give you all the information. read more

Around 10 AM 11/22/23 - my family went to enterprise to pick up a car we had already confirmed online. My elderly parents walked in and were told their options were. cRV(a vehicle we own) and a Toyota 4 runner. Neither of these was the car we confirmed. During this, another man is being serviced, and when asked to make a payment, he wants to put down, both a credit and debit card. At this moment the Enterprise Employee becomes enraged - and tells him he doesn't have to rent this man anything - simply because the man didn't understand way he couldn't accept his forms of payment. Mind you this man has been renting from this location for 17 years, as he stated to the disgruntled employee. The employee then calls the police on this patron - and tells my elderly parents to get out of the store, when the police entered. However, he did not tell another gentlemen sitting in the lobby to exit the premises. The unprofessional treatment my parents received as well as the patron who had the cops called on him tell reveal one thing about that employee that is obvious in his flustered state he exuded a complete disregard for common decency and treated us like animals. My car was in the shop, so I went on website and booked a rental after confirming that i would get a ride there because i didn't have my car. I get a call from enterprise Brewster and the man said that his office doesnt provide pick up services. My daughter called spoke to same person and was told sure someone from the Brewster location would be able to pick her up and bring her to Brewster office. That's shameful how could I get there to rent a car with out a car, makes no sense and 30 mins later he tells my daughter she can get picked up disgusting behavior. I've rented a car twice from this location and both times have been seamless. I did not experience the troubles of the other reviewers. All of the employees I dealt with were professional, friendly, and efficient. They even called me the day before the rental just to confirm all the details and to be sure they had a car waiting for me. I will absolutely rent from here again, and I hope my next experience continues to be as easy. read more

My mother rented a car there last Tuesday while hers is in the shop. On Thursday the car stopped working. Call the branch - they were closed. Called the 800 number and after an hour and half of trying to trouble shoot the problem they sent out a tow. After and hour and half with the tow truck driver trying everything he could to get it started - still not running. Next day no word from the location we got it. Called them and they said they were expecting a car back and would bring it right over. Called back to say they would be a little late - they never came. They are closed Sat and Sun so here we are -- no car that runs sitting in driveway!! No contact from anyone at Enterprise. Disgusting - do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here. The best part we are still paying for a rental car for 4 days that is unable to start. read more

This Enterprise location is trying to stick some minor damage on me that I didn't do. The worst part is, I pointed out the damage to the agent when I picked up the car, and was told the damage "doesn't count" because it was "not a crack or a dent". So I didn't mark it on the form. Then, just 2 days later, this same agents goes and points the same scratch out to me, saying that since it's longer than 5 inches it *does* count. He claimed not to remember what he had told me before. I kind of think what's going on here is that a previous customer did the damage, and this guy didn't want his manager to know that he hadn't noticed it, so he's trying to push the blame on me. It's frustrating that they would tell me one policy when I pick up the car, and tell me a different policy when I drop it off again. It's also frustrating that there are people who would do this sort of thing. I can't help but think it was intentional, otherwise when I pointed out the scratch initially, the guy would have told me the correct policy. Oh well. My rec is don't ever use this place. Or if you do, be very careful about inspecting the car before you leave the lot. It's very minor damage, and probably won't be very costly, but it's the principle of the thing that bugs me. read more

BE CAREFUL. WILL CHARGE A EXTRA DAY FOR WEEKEND RENTALS!!! I rented a red Ford Fiesta for Friday night to Sunday night. When I arrived at 3:30 pm (a little early), there was 10 people outside waiting because the doors were locked no one was there. A lady came 30 minutes later and was friendly and tried to help customers out. (Kim or Amy?). The Ford Fiesta that they gave me had dirt in the hatchback and smelled like either sunbaked Cheetos or vomit. Hard to tell which one. Disgusting. I had no time to have them reclean it. The gas tank had less than 1/2 a tank of gas. Kinda annoying when you have to fill it an hour later and have to estimate how much gas to put back in it. I in dropped the car back in their off hour lot because they have no body working weekends. Frank charged me 4 days of rent. When I called back Frank, he couldn't figure out the problem without reviewing security tape footage to figure out when they received the red car back. They credited me 1 day. But are still charging me 3 days rental for a car I was using for 2 days and a couple hours. I would have accepted a reasonable pro rated charge for a couple hours. But they still told me they would charge me for the extra day and "that's just how it is."-Frank. I told them I am still not happy. Their rates here were expensive at it was. I do not recommend them, because the care for their cars just isn't there. They act friendly at first, but when you rip off and inconvenience customers, any cordiality showed is meaningless. read more

I'm going to start by saying that this was the worse experience of my life. My fiancee made reservations for a car a month before our big vacation. When we got to the location on the day we were supposed to leave for our trip there were NO cars Enterprise could give us. We waited an hour for someone to arrive in a car much smaller than reserved. From here we thought we were good to go and we would settle since we wanted to hit the road early. The service guy, who checks the cars, said we were good to go and for us to see if there would be enough space for our luggage. We thought everything would be good from here. Nope! The guy who recently used this rental came outside and told me and my fiancee that we would not want to take the car because the front tires were bald. Mind you, we were traveling with a small child on our 18 hour trip. This set off the service guy because he was obviously just trying to get us out of the way. We didn't take it. The service guy then took my fiancee to the "warehouse" where they had cars that were not fit to be on the road. He suggested us taking a car with a cracked windshield. "If you get pulled over by the police we'll be responsible for the ticket." We said no to that, obviously. He then showed us another car, which was an SUV, and called the manager at the store and asked what was wrong with the vehicle. The SUV had history of overheating, so we didn't take that. After another hour went by, (a total of two hours of making us late than our scheduled time), Enterprise called another location, Mahopac. Luckily, they had extra cars to give. We then had to travel twenty minutes from the Brewster location just to pick up another vehicle. Thankfully, the guy at the Mahopac location was efficient, quick, and professional. We do NOT recommend anyone going to this location for a car. After all of the b.s. we still had to pay full price for our rental with no exceptions of a discount for our inconvenience. read more

I have been renting vehicles from the Brewster location several times a year, for about 4 years now. I have to say that any interaction I have had with the staff, has always been positive. The staff is rotated often, due to promotions which is good for them. Yet, my experience with the previous managers and staff has always been pleasant. Chris T., the manager and Chris R., a sales agent make sure everything is in order before you pick up your car. Dave always ensures your ride is clean and ready to go. Enterprise offers to pick up or drop off, which they do with a smile. There's never any hesitation for either request. Kate's new there and she's also very sweet. Brewster ROCKS!!!!! I didn't think that Id ever write a review for a car rental agency but here I am. Seriously, the manager and everyone that works here was so helpful. We rented a car and had an accident within an hour (not our fault). Another location in Mamaroneck completely botched our pick up on the side of the road--lost the car, asked us where the car was (that we called the main number who should have handled this), kept asking us where the car was until a week later when we were returning and saw it parked on the side of the road still. Mamaroneck tried to charge us for all of this--I called the Brewster location and they took over and made it all better, they even let us exchange the insane huge truck Mamaroneck gave us for a more reasonable car. Ended up paying for protection I didn't need because the salesperson was pushy and failed to mention that I could possibly be covered by my credit cars. All they want to do is make a quick buck. Question was "how will you pay if the car is damaged?" And "my insurance", a response which shouldn't have been questioned was, to "well you don't want to get stuck with a huge deductible". We flew into NY to spend a couple of days w/ family then picked up a two week rental @ the Enterprise in Brewstery, NY for a road trip. We try to rent from non-airport Enterprise locations as the prices are generally much cheaper and they offer the pick up/drop off service when needed. All the locations we've dealt with so far have been excellent by car rental standards and we haven't had any issues w/ the car, pick up, drop off, rate changes, etc. The people at this site were very pleasant to deal with and we'll use them again next time we're in the area. read more

Had to unfortunately deal with these guys after my accident. Ugh! The manager, Dwight is not personable and really seems to not care. He's not personable by any means, often rushing me during phone conversations. I'm also appalled by the small shack-like appearance of the office, and the state it is kept in. You would think that being a division of the rental company in the north-eastern US, that they would have cars geared towards the weather conditions. Hopefully I will not have to do business with Enterprise again. read more

Rad at the Brewster location is very nice. I called him 5 minutes to closing time and told him that I would not be able to rent the car since Hertz wanted to charge me an arm and a leg for returning another car early, which I wound up not doing ofcourse. Rad cancelled out the transaction, since I had not even taken the car off the lot, and waited around for me to return the keys. read more

I meant to write this review much sooner. I rented a car in September and received excellent service! Those gentleman set the bar for customer service. I intended to rent a car in Danbury, CT but the Enterprise operator suggested the Brewster location, which was more convenient since I was arriving by Metro North train and would be able to utilize their "we'll pick you up" service. There was a bit of a mix up on the operator's end with confirmation. That operator is not located in the Brewster office; nonetheless, when I called Brewster office directly to confirm, they were gracious and accommodating. My experience was an enjoyable one. I will use this location again. read more
