I purchased a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 for over $91,000. During the sale, the salesman, Frank, told me I was not allowed to use my grandfather's legitimate GMC employee discount, despite my grandfather working over 40 years on the GMC production line and the benefit extending to family. I was pressured to pay full price under the claim that multiple buyers were "ready to buy." Frank also advised me to purchase the truck personally and later transfer it to my roofing company, a process he suggested repeating for future business vehicles. That transaction alone took over six hours. Just over a year later, I returned and purchased two more vehicles: * 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali ($10,000 down) * 2024 GMC Yukon XL Denali ($5,000 down) That transaction took over eight hours. I followed all maintenance requirements to protect my extended warranty. When my Sierra 2500's heater and mirror sensor modules failed, what should have been a routine warranty repair turned into a 27-day delay. I received inconsistent information and was eventually told the repairs were denied because I supposedly had the "wrong" extended warranty. I was never offered a commercial warranty at purchase. Only after weeks of back-and-forth, and after stating I would leave a detailed review, did finance manager Mike ("Big Mike") agree to upgrade the warranty and cover the repairs. During the delay, I lost a $16,000 roofing job because my work truck was unavailable. I requested reasonable good-faith remediation (tires and brake pads) due to the financial loss. I have received no response. I was also told by Mike that if I left a bad review, he would leave one on my company's page -- an unprofessional and retaliatory response. Despite being a repeat customer who spent well into six figures, I was met with poor communication, misinformation, and zero accountability. Contractors and business owners should be aware of how warranty issues are handled after the sale. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this dealership.

Update: DriveTime & Bridgecrest - A Coordinated Scam That Lacks Basic Human Decency…read more Since my last update, my daughter went to DriveTime in person to speak directly with the General Manager, hoping for some level of assistance or at least compassion regarding the constant mechanical failures she has endured since purchasing the vehicle. Unfortunately, what she received was a dismissive, cold-hearted response. Despite the fact that she has only had the car for 90 days, the General Manager stated that because she was outside of the 30-day warranty, she was fully responsible for all major repairs--ignoring the fact that the car's brakes, rotors, tires, and oil system were already failing when she bought it. In an effort to appeal to his humanity, my daughter explained that this was her first time purchasing a car without her father, who passed away in 2022. His response? "If it was my daughter, I would let her learn her lesson." What kind of company leader responds that way to a struggling young mother? When she showed him pictures of the car's damages, he outright denied that DriveTime sold it in that condition, refusing to take any accountability. Instead of offering real help, he gave her a random mechanic's number and told her that her only option was to "sacrifice" and get it fixed herself. That meant: * Paying for a tow to a repair shop * Paying a mechanic for diagnostic testing * Paying for expensive repairs * AND still making her car payments--for a vehicle that isn't even driveable Even after all this, Bridgecrest continued harassing her for payments without any acknowledgment of the situation. Their customer service reps refuse to escalate calls, and the only response she gets is "When are you going to make the payment?" At this point, it is clear that DriveTime and Bridgecrest operate as a coordinated scam--preying on hardworking people, pushing them into unreliable cars, and offering no real solutions when those cars fail. My daughter has now towed the vehicle to a mechanic, and I will provide further updates once we receive a full diagnostic report on the damages. To anyone considering buying a car from DriveTime or financing through Bridgecrest--DON'T. This company does not care about its customers, their financial well-being, or their basic dignity. Avoid them at all costs.

But CARMAX didn't flinch when providing an online offer so I took it in, expecting they would lowball it, which they did: by 1/3. However, some inconsistencies were reported by the agency, reflecting odometer tampering, battery & tires purchase dates, that were bringing down the price. Jose, at the Independence store gave me a number to call and see if the agency could match the information could explain so it could be updated before COB. Agency said it would take 3 hours, already 2:30, so it would be close. Long story short, the agency came through (I didn't have to spend the night in the store, as I had decided to stay until the items were updated). The final check was just what I was quoted on the CARMAX site. I knew what my car's value was. It was PERFECT and the store could set it out on the lot without touching up anything! EVERYONE, whether selling outright, or trading, should read carefully the details on the printed estimate that can bring a car's price down several thousand dollars. I ended up walking out with a check a few hundred less than the original online offer. Hats off to employees, Jose (shop), and Tiffany & Janelle, (office) who assisted me with my mobility issues and got me out of there fast. Thanks, Indep Valley View.

We test drove a Toyota Avalon, and my wife loved it. There were 2 issues. Engine light was on for lean fuel, and the brake caliper was seized. They wrote in the contract. that they would fix those two issues. We paid 2900 (+149 fee). 2900 was the higher end of the NADA (for a vehicle that was in good condition). We got the car back. Brake was "fixed" and the engine light was off. We were told the issues were fixed. As soon as we pulled out, the engine light came back on. We brought it back. They fixed it a second time. I went and picked it up. And again, the engine light came on. This time I took it to my mechanic. He said it didnt look like anyone fixed anything. The engine light was being turned off AND the brake caliper that was installed was leaking brake fluid. It was not correctly installed. I took it BACK to the dealership a third time. They said it would be fixed. Well, I got it back and was told they put in 2 new 02 sensors... guess what... the engine light came back on...for the same reason... It was not fixed. The problem i have, they wrote in the paperwork that these issues WOULD be fixed. I paid for a car in good condition, and now I am going to have to pay to fix an issue that I was promised would be fixed. I understand older cars have issues, but these were addressed before I handed cash, and was guaranteed they would be fixed. So buyer beware. Their shop apparently doesnt know what they are doing, and I was promised three different times that the issues were fixed, and just because they write in a legally binding contract, they will do something, doesnt mean they will. I wonder what would have happened if I didnt uphold MY end of the contract?

So we had to send it back again and the leaks were fixed this time along with most of the tail lights, we are still missing a back up light and now our check engine light is on and the code is for low oil pressure and their mechanic destroyed the transmission pan. My husband called them Thursday and they said they would call back. He called on Friday and was told they would call him back again, we heard nothing back and so we called again on Monday they again said they would get back with us. Heard nothing again. She introduced herself and asked what kind of vehicle I was looking for. She directed me to several SUV's and told me if I needed further assistance to let her know. She allowed me to walk around on my own without following me asking questions as I looked in each vehicle which was a plus because I like to shop first and decide before having a lot of questions thrown at me. Unlike the larger car lots, what I loved about trying to make a decision on a vehicle is that she didn't follow me all over the car lot. I let her know which vehicle's that I wanted to test drive and then I decided on which one I wanted to purchase. I made a couple of request that I wanted to be done to the vehicle that I was interested in and she approved it just for the asking with no problem! I was really surprised and shocked!
