The doctor's only answer was a tiered drug approach - start with one, then add another, then another - until the hives were suppressed; I let him know we wanted testing or other option. As soon as I started asking questions, he became very derogatory in his demeanor and kept pointing to the MD letters on his white shirt, and told me to quit looking at the internet or talking to family and friends. This is all without knowing that we don't go to the doctor until absolutely necessary and I have several kids so am not a new mom. Worst experience ever. I don't normally write reviews, but need to warn you about what you will face if you don't simply comply with his 'expertise'. Btw I took our son elsewhere and they found he had a congested liver. Since starting him on two supplements, he has not had a single hives incident.

When I asked the office staff, they reassured me that they were in network with my insurance, and not to worry. A few weeks later, I received a bill for $347. I called the billing department thinking this was a mistake, as this is 3 times higher than the average price for this test, but they informed me that they charge the maximum amount allowed by state regulations and that I should have thought to ask them for an estimate. I told the billing representative that the office staff made it sound like this would be covered by insurance, and she stated "well, that's too bad." The only discount they offer is 10%, IF you pay the bill completely in full. They outright refused to negotiate the price any further, even when I explained that this bill was causing a HUGE financial burden. Please AVOID THIS PRACTICE UNLESS YOU WANT PAY RIDICULOUSLY HIGH SURPRISE BILLS.

Honestly prior to the most recent visit and the billing that ensued I would've given this practice…read morea 4 star rating. Everyone is always incredibly friendly the only issue I've ever had was the wait times you can run into at the Edgewood location but that is to be expected. During my most recent routine visit for a cleaning of both ears, per usual, my doctor made the observation that one of my ears had a cyst on the ear drum. He recommended that I schedule a subsequent appointment for a draining procedure as he didn't have the necessary tools at the current appointment. He then proceeded on with cleaning out the ear he observed the cyst and I went in my way. Upon receiving my bill for the standard services I had received I noticed an additional nearly $170 over the regular price I pay for the twice yearly cleanings I receive. I inquired with the billing department and they inquired with my doctor. He affirmed the charges siting that an additional diagnosis was made. Now had I requested for him to attend to an issue I was not scheduled for, or even to look at an ear he wouldn't have normally been looking at I could try to wrap my head around this. But the idea that he thinks it's appropriate to tack on an extra $170 for noticing something in an ear he was ALREADY LOOKING AT, is laughable. I understand that "Bill 'em for whatever you can," is the current medical mentality, but this will be the last time they bill me. **After going round and round and having the engage the help of some outside influences I was finally able to get my bill correctly. Most likely still won't return as I would not have gotten a resolution without the outside help**

We saw Dr. Keitel and I felt he was knowledgeable and responsive. We had to wait in the exam room for 20 minutes for the allergy test results, but since the room was so kid-friendly, it really wasn't a big deal--he just played the whole time. The results and recommendations were clearly explained to us by the doctor. Thankfully, I don't expect to need to bring my son back, but if we needed to for any reason, I would definitely see Dr. Keitel again.

I have gone to Dr. Kratz for years and both he, and Maryanne the nurse are very nice. In fact, when…read moreI was younger Maryanne was so nice that she made me want to be a nurse. That idea didn't work out lol, but still that shows how nice she is. Also, right when I turned 18 I stopped going to get my allergy shots because I was no longer under my mom's insurance and I didn't want to waste the money. When I got a better job with my own insurance, I decided to go back... and I went almost every week for about 2 years without them even running it through my insurance. I guess they felt bad for me, thinking I was poor or something since I didn't go for about a year, and they wrote it off instead of charging me. Again very nice. This made me stay there longer than I should have. What made me finally decide to leave, was that there were multiple incidents where I headed over there after work, and they were supposed to be open til five but instead closed like 15 minutes early if they had no appointments. For allergy shots you don't need appointments so I'd hurry there and get there like 10 minutes before they were supposed to be closed, yet they had closed early. This happened a good 10+ times over a period of 2 years, so when my mom started taking my little sister to a different allergy doctor, Dr. Keitel I decided to give him a try as well. I only wish i would have switched earlier! As it turns out the shots that I was getting from Dr. Kratz were only strong enough to treat it like a medicine. The shots I'm now getting from Dr. Keitel are way stronger and they're helping to build up an immunity which should help me completely outgrow my allergies within 3 years! This is big news for me since I have really severe allergies. Also my allergies have been so bad for so many years, that it caused me to have a deviated septum which has made me have chronic sinus infections. They have gotten really worse over the past year, and it also causes me to have really bad migraines. As nice as Maryanne & Dr. Kratz are I almost want to give them a 4 or so, but the truth is if I were getting the right treatment years ago I wouldn't have as many health problems as I do now, therefore all I can give them is a 2. One positive is that since I can compare my new doctor to them, it makes me appreciate just how good the new doctor is!

I love this place! I…read morehave had severe allergies all of my life. I've seen multiple doctors, and have gotten shots for years but they were shots that was like medication... not getting rid of the problem. I recently started going to Dr. Keitel's and he is so much better than any other allergy doctor I've ever gone to. He made a plan with me for my allergy shots and said that my allergies will be completely gone in 3-5 years. This is something I never thought was possible, to be allergy free. I'm so excited! Also he ordered some tests and found some other problems that I had, that had never been diagnosed even though I'd told other doctors the symptoms. I am very impressed with he, and all of the workers at his office. They are very friendly. Another thing I like about them is the convenience of getting in. They have two locations to choose from, one in Crestview Hills and the other one in Florence. They are also open late on Tuesdays (Until 7pm I believe) for those who need to come in late for shots. Also you don't need to have an appointment for a shot, you can just walk in. That's very convenient. The only thing I don't like is that you have to wait 20 minutes after each shot before you're able to leave. When I got shots at my old allergy doctors I was in and out. I completely understand it though. These shots are a lot stronger (building up an immunity to the allergy) so they want to make sure you have no reaction.) From now on, I'll just remember to bring a book for the wait, which I noticed a lot of other people did. I'd definitely recommend them to everyone with allergies.

My daughter had a very bad allergic reaction while at the office and was given an epi pen injection. After a 20 min wait she was allowed to drive home. No emergency contact call was given. She was not in any shape to drive home. I am disappointed I was not contacted. I called when I found out what happened I was told by the office manager I would receive a call back when she knew the detailed. After many calls and no reply I found out she was no longer at the office and my daughters medicine had been thrown out. I asked to speak to the manager and that's when I was told she was no longer at the office. I asked to speak to the doctor to find out why the medication was thrown away and we were not contacted I was told I'd have to pay another office visit to speak to the doctor. I then contacted corporate to let them know our medicine had been thrown away and no communication was given to us even though I was calling the office weekly. Corporate office assured me that was not the protocol for medication to be thrown away and customers to not be communicated with he told me he would get to the bottom of this and get back with me on what he could do. It took me three weeks and three phone For anyone at corporate to return my call. He told me I have no idea why my messages are not getting back to me but I will fix this. To date nothing has been fixed I'm not even sure the doctor knows what has happened to us. Multiple phone calls and zero communication. I'm sure a lot of this has to do with no office manager but customers should not be the one to take the fall for no communication or office management
