She pointed out I was having stiffness in certain arm positions and that the continuance of exercises and a cortisone injection might get me over this episode and back on track. I had to stop physical therapy as Medicare was starting to bill me as it appeared I had exhausted my covered allowable visits. Lesley gave me the confidence to keep up my exercise protocol at home and to return in 8 weeks to assess how the injection might have helped my range of motion. And when I say a picture, I mean she draws on a sheet of paper, and you can read it. A doctor with good handwriting is rare, my friends. Dr. Andrews likes to take a conservative approach, which I appreciate. The last thing I want to do is incur unnecessary costs or recovery. In my experience, she does not overprescribe, she does not ignore the patient's preferences, and she seeks long-term improvement. I first saw Dr. Andrews in 2001, and when I decided to get my knee problems resolved, I looked and was so happy to see that Dr. Andrews still practiced here in the area. This is not the norm at a specialty office, ever! I arrived earlier to fill out all that wonderful new patient paperwork. I didn't wait more than a few minutes. Another surprise! I was triaged and then had X-rays taken. The X-ray tech was super sweet! I waited a few minutes maybe 2, for doctor to come in. What?!? Am I in the twilight zone? Dr. Curry was so helpful, she shared, no stress fractures...yay!! She referred me to a physical therapist for threading. She said I was ok to run and the therapy appointment would provide some much needed relief. So happy I get to register for the mini! And she wants to see me at the finish line!!
