The ENT and audiology teams are fantastic. I've had problems my entire life and am finally on a great plan. They fitted me for my first hearing device which was a great experience. Kelle was amazing! If I could give less than one star, I would. I had an issue going on for three months, Dr. Rodriguez gave me meds that didn't help it twice. Then told me that I need to stop worrying about it. I got a second opinion and it turned out to be a staph infection in my throat. read more

I wouldn't recommend this practice solely because of the front office staff. They all have a condescending tone, are rude, have the meanest faces no one ever smiles getting them to help you makes it seem like a favor when it's a job they should be happy to do. The nurses and doctors are great but I wouldn't come back here if I could help it dealing with the front office staff is such a bad experience. read more

The phone né staff is rude and talks over you, one gentleman in particular. Rather than answer a straightforward question his solution was to keep repeating himself over and over and not absorbing or answering the question. Also the doctor was abrasive. Finding a health center witch matters is helpful . My mother is the head CYTOTECH for vasser medical filed. If you guys dont understand what that is. A cytotech , is a vice president of the medidcal depeterment. Dr Very is a very nice dr . Unforently his rispotinist are very unprofessional and should not be in a medical filed. Not only that one of his staff members , who pratices underneath him went looking up threw my tiktok . I assume they were wondering what is wrong with me. Being that it is a small commuinty , people will look at you wired and wonder why are you their. Also , their are some young staff members their who I also think are trying to over turn his paitients to another clinic . Hence for this women that comment on this blog ... I ve belive her name is kat or kathy , she works at the clinic as the respoinsit . She knew I was in pain I work nights also as pharmacy tech my hours are crazy I come home Around this time . I saw Dr. Cohen on Aug. 21 at 11:30 am - he examined my ears which I was having a problem with, made a diagnosis & said that he was sending in a prescription to my pharmacy CVS. Today is Aug. 22 in the evening & he has yet to send a prescription to CVS for me. I have tried to call the office numerous times & all I get is a answering machine which runs me back & forth to itself. Now I paid my co-pay & my insurance will pay the balance of the office call & if I had known this was going to happen I would not have paid my co-pay till I received my prescription. Can't understand how you can treat patience this way. read more

I was having sinus issues as well as some usual light snoring which over the years has gotten progressively worse. I decided to check it out and see if there was anything to be done. I asked around and Dr. Very's name at ENT and AA came up. After going to see him, he mentioned that he wanted to look in my sinuses and that he would use a spray to numb and then look inside and asked it was that okay. I said, "sure, if that's standard procedure for this sort of visit". It took 3 seconds in each nostril and then he said that's it. Maybe a slightly deviated septum but nothing else. He asked if I wanted to do a sleep study but that's it. Wouldn't you know I received a bill a couple weeks later for almost $400 on top of paying my co-pay and after whatever they charged my insurer for that 3 second spray as it's technically listed by insurers (as I soon found out and which they already knew) as a surgical procedure. Why should I be surprised? When I called to ask why this wasn't explained more clearly to me in the office because I would not have signed off on it had I known I would have had to pay out of pocket for this, they told me "well, you signed the form in the office on the digital tablet and it's in the small print" Okay. Fair enough. That's how you want to do business with hard working people who put their trust in you and your practice to care for them and be above board. Never again. In my book that's stealing money from my pocket. Lesson learned. Be your own medical advocate no matter where you go and ask as many questions as you can. Never be embarrassed. It's your health, your body, your life. These guys are uncaring, unskilled and deceitful. You can do better. read more

(continuation) ...to sift out any missed wax that was stuck to the inside of the ear after the doc tried to scrape it out. I actually liked the other doctor I had who used the water system better in the ear. Although uncomfortable to think about (having heard from others "Never pour water into your ear"), I know that cleaning did the trick and lasted me all these last 17 years. However, I don't know if my insurance is supported by that doctor at this time. He checked up my nose, and looked into my throat, but when nothing was spotted wrong there, he dismissed me sending me out with the check-out paperwork. He told me that we should really do clean-outs every 6 months. Now, at the very end, I went out and handed the paperwork to the nurse who told me "over here is the door". She was yet another nurse from yet another line. I was expecting to make the appointment right then and there. I stood there for a few moments as I handed her the sheet. However, she told me that I could go. I was very disappointed. She told me that a postcard would be mailed to me to let me know of my appointment date and time closer to this date. I know that "things happen" but this is amazing. The whole process of cleaning took 5 minutes. No sooner was I in, than I was out. Both my grandmother (who came and sat in the doctor's office during this time) and I both think he should have done more. I still feel that he should have (on the first appointment) done a hearing test. Seeing this entire experience, we'll see if I ever return again. I wasn't feeling too comfy and I hate what I had to go through to get there. Without constant communication, I felt "lost in the shuffle" though the quick turnaround rate of nurse to doctor, made this all feel a little bit better. read more

I have a huge issue with people working in healthcare who treat patients and their family with no respect. Martina, a medical assistant, left my sons test results on a voicemail with a vague idea of where to go from there. I of course had questions. Getting in touch with anyone from that office is near impossible as it takes days to receive a call back. So making two calls in one day to get clarification of the inappropriate voicemail must have ticked her off. This young woman was condescending, spoke over me when I tried to speak and provided no type of help in answering any of my questions when I called. I hung up with no insight in how to proceed with my sons care and extremely offended with how I was treated. This interaction alone has left me looking for a new ENT for my children. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Hugh for allergies and asthma for about two years now. The check-in lines at the office are divided by doctor, which really decreases the time it takes to check in for your appointment. They usually ask you to arrive early for check-in, and I have never waited past my appointment time before I was called back. Dr. Hugh and his nurses have guided me through finding what works for my asthma and allergies. I finally have both under control and he is the only doctor I've had that is conscious about your insurance/financial capability and will work with you to get you the help you need. read more

I went in for an appointment with Dr. Hugh recently. I arrived to the office 15 minutes early. 15 minutes after my appointment, they informed me that he was running an hour behind. I'm not too sure why I wasn't made aware of this when I got there but I surely didn't appreciate sitting there for a half hour waiting. I couldn't make an appointment right there on the spot so I called back the following day. One of the days I asked for, the office was closed due to it being the day after a holiday. I asked for the next day and they informed me that the doctor would be out that whole week. Called the Fishkill office and they informed me that their allergist was also going to be out the following week after the holiday. I'm curious as to how you allow both allergists with this company in Dutchess County to be out at the same time and not have any back up? Absurd! I will be finding a new allergist in the area and would not recommend this office at all. read more

If I could give less than one star I would do so. My Mother had an appt with Dr. Boress. He diagnosed my Mother with infected vocal cords and prescribed an antibiotic and scheduled a follow up for 2 weeks. A week or so later she didn't feel any better, her voice was still very hoarse and she asked me to call and see if she could get in sooner for another appt. I called and the receptionist was rude she kept me on hold for quite some time. She came back on the line and asked for a call back number. She called me back a few minutes later and VERY rudely said, "Dr. Boress said he's all booked up and he'll see her NEXT week." I inquired about her being fit in on the following day in another office. The rude receptionist with zero empathy or care in the world repeated the same sentence. I told her that wasn't good enough. I explained that my Mother even after being on an antibiotic for a week didn't feel any better. I also, reminded her that the website AND the commercial on the radio advertise that the practice offers same day appts. The receptionist honestly could not care less and asked me if I'd like a medical assistant to give us a call. I said yes and that never happened. On the same day I called the ENT practice at Mid Hudson Regional hospital and I left a very detailed message about the way my Mother was treated by ENT allergy and associates. I asked for the next available appt. The practice called us back within a couple of hours and she was given an appt for the following day. It turns out that the problem is not a vocal cord infection. My Mother is already on another course of treatment and has already experienced some relief. I had been there once before with my child. After the way they blew my Mother off I'd never go back there. read more
