Sarva Yoga of Media - Lisa, Instructor

I have been to many yoga studios, and this one is hands down my favorite. The studio offers a very…read morepersonal and intimate setting. Lisa and Jack are very gentle, patient and knowledgeable yoga instructors.

I've been a fan of Lisa's yoga classes for over 10 years & it's wonderful to finally see her in her…read moreown space. She's a fantastic balance of fitness instructor & wholistic healer. At the end of a 75-minute class, I feel like I've gotten a great workout for my body as well as a clear mind due to a needed mental break. Lisa has a light, positive & knowledgeable way that she instructs class & for me, that's something that I need to keep me coming to practice regularly. Lisa is attuned to the needs of those who practice in her classes & will offer variations for poses & adjustments while still being sensitive to personal space. Because of her awareness, it's possible to continue (or even begin!) practicing while healing an injury. For example, another person in the class I attended was wearing a knee brace & she took time to work with him assuring he got the most out of class without re-injuring himself. For those who enjoy the benefits of a heated "hot yoga" class, there are currently two heaters in the room. While it was definitely QUITE WARM during the session I attended on opening day, it wasn't Bikram hot. I don't think Lisa's intentions are to bring the room temperature to that level, however she did mention that she intends to add more heaters in order to get the room closer to the mid-90 degree range. It's my opinion that any of Lisa's classes are worth checking out, regardless of your fitness level.
