I was visiting Narberth during Thanksgiving and purchased a new student pass for The Yoga Garden. During the two weeks, I went to about 10 classes. The studio is lovely, both physically and the welcoming feeling of the teachers and students alike. I attended a variety of classes, but most incorporated some flow. Mark is wonderful, and also the teachers and staff. I'll be back the next time I'm in Narberth. read more

Awesome place! The atmosphere was relaxing and very comfortable. Clean. The class was above excellent, an hour and 15 minutes. The teacher was very good and knowledgeable about yoga, his voice might put you to sleep. I am from Nebraska visiting and was looking for a studio that offered drop ins. This is the place if you're close. I'll be back next time I am in town. read more

It's been a while since the last time I attended a class here, but Mark and the Yoga Garden staff have always been my standard on what I look for in other studios. I haven't found one that even begins to compare to the kind of attention and versatility the Yoga Garden provides. Whether you're just beginning or you've already paved your path, I promise you won't regret including here on your yoga journey! read more

Just love the practices, teachers and the community atmosphere of Yoga Garden. The schedule is perfect, many practices a day, 7 days a week, in two very simple and bright rooms (or maybe in the park nearby). Mark is a great teacher, and he manages to bring all our differences to a similar level, all individuals to a group sense. And yes, we sweat! But you may relax and stretch your fascias as well, during yin or gentle yoga classes ++++. read more

I was there yesterday morning for the first time. I treated my sisters to a groupon for heated yoga. Everyone was very welcoming. The place was nice, but smaller than I expected. Class started on time. My athletic sister, who does this type of stuff, said the class was OK and that it wasn't really hot in the room. My other sister was over it shortly after it began. I thought it was awesome, although I did expect the room to be warmer. The instructor, Alyssa, was very nice and informative. You could tell she was very knowledgeable. She walked around the room and gently helped people improve their poses. The class was an hour and a half long. read more

The Yoga Garden is IT! Love this studio so much - I have been a loyal customer since 2012 where I decided to try a different type of yoga at this studio every day. The studio is clean, warm, and inviting, and the staff are always helpful and available to answer any questions. The prices are also very reasonable which is one of the many reasons why I keep coming back. The variety of classes are wonderful - from a challenging sweaty practice, to a relaxed, free flowing class. I have yet to meet a teacher I don't love! If you are in the area, I highly recommend you pay a visit to the studio. You will not be disappointed! read more

I'm a regular at this yoga studio and I cannot recommend it enough! Mark's classes are excellent. He has vast knowledge and puts a lot of effort and thought into each and every class. I'm so looking fly to be living nearby! read more

Great Yoga Studio, definitely a positive and encouraging vibe. Rachel is our favorite instructor!

This is a beautiful place to practice yoga! Not only that, but they have a great introductory offer ($49 for an entire month of unlimited classes!) I've been taking class here since JAN and no matter what day I come on; every teacher (and sub) has been great! There are classes offered every day, morning/ afternoon/ evening- so no matter what your sch; something will fit it! The space is spotless and has a lot of natural light- just perfect to practice in... cannot recommend highly enough! read more

Wonderful teachers, warm and open community. Beautiful space. A perfect environment in which to practice.

So far so good! Back in October I got a $30 groupon for three weeks of unlimited classes. I've only been there twice, once for kettlebells and once for flow yoga 2 and so far I feel like I've gotten a good bang for my buck. I've completed 2/3 of my own yoga teacher training so I'm confident saying their flow yoga 2 class is good for the mid-level yogi. The transitions were different than what I was used to but that's why we take classes with other teachers, right? It was fun. Kettle bells, so simple, and yet so hard. I went to the regular class but I should've gone to the beginner one- I felt bad b/c the instructor was giving me a ton of help and it detracted from the others in the class a little but they seemed to be getting a pretty good workout on their own! There's only 6 exercises learning them won't be difficult...but mastering? Whoa. The place has a good atmosphere in Narberth. I just wish I didn't live so far away...but for the next two and a half weeks- I'll be there. read more

What a tranquil, inviting studio. When you first walk in, you are greeted with wonderful decor. The studio is laid out nicely with checkin, bathrooms, two yoga rooms and they even have an impressive mat storage hall. I practiced in the back room, there was wonderful light flooding in during the 4:30pm class. The class itself was a mixed level class and I felt the teacher did a wonderful job giving instruction and modifications that included all student ability levels. What sets this place on top is the front desk person, Evelyn. She couldn't have been nicer on my first visit. The drop in rate was average $ and they do have a good new student rate. read more

Love, love, love this studio. Their website has an up to date schedule which is nice. As for the studio itself it's great. About 50 classes, with a slew of different time slots and instructors. We did the $40ish dollar first month deal, which is a hell of a steal especially since we don't live in philly and we're just here for a couple weeks. We tried out multiple classes and instructors. I wish there was one of these studios in each place we visit along our travels. read more

Awesome studio. Offers a full range of classes, great teachers, beautiful atmosphere, very clean. Love going there.

What a gem! This small yoga studio has a wide variety of class offerings and awesome teachers. Mark and Alyssa consistently provide challenging classes and genuinely care about your personal yoga practice. The classes are never over-crowded and you leave each class with a great work out and a sense of peacefulness. If I lived on the Main Line, I would definitely go to this yoga studio every day....! read more

My toddlers' yoga birthday party was a total hit. To be honest , I didn't know how it would go.. just wanted to try something different from all of the other kiddie partys. From the moment I spoke to the team on the phone, I knew I was in for a treat. The scheduling was hassle free and the day was AMAZING. The teacher was kind and fun. She had the 3 year olds put beanie babies on their mats and toes to help them through the poses. Fun filled the fabulous day ... my daughter now passes by the Yoga Garden and says " I want to go back to MY SPOT" .. needless to say, we are Yoga Garden birthday party fans !! read more

This my first time at yoga garden and I had a great workout, but the best part was that I walked in with shoulder pain and walked out with a significant reduction in pain. The class message was to be kind and compassionate, and yoga garden did exactly that. The woman at the front desk helped me out and put a quarter in my meter for me while I was in class. Now if that's not being kind I don't know what is! Will be back again read more

The instructors are great and they offer many classes throughout the day in 2 rooms. Very convenient! That being said, they do not have a space to change clothes. They just remodeled and took out this space in favor of a decorative wall. So, If you work and do not live in yoga clothes, this studio is NOT for you. read more

Ever since I moved to Philly from LA, I've been searching for a great yoga studio to replace an amazing one I went to for 4-5 years. After trying out quite a few, Yoga Garden is the one that stuck (both the Narberth and South Street location). I was specifically looking for somewhere that pushed me as far as I can go, but also respected my decision to slow down if I was not feeling up to it. Yoga Garden has great teachers that do both of those things. They're all really friendly and personable, and always have good advice when I have questions. All of their teachers are great, but my favorites in terms of pushing me to improve have been Rachel, Lisa, Lauren and Mark. They're all very enthusiastic about what they do - and their classes usually fill up! So get there early. read more

I recently moved to the area and was in search for a yoga studio. I found an insane deal on groupon which is what brought me to the yoga garden. It's a small, tranquil studio with friendly front desk staff. The yoga instructors here are truly phenomenal and are passionate and gifted in what they do. Any vinyasa class with Mark or Lisa is superb and power yoga with Lauren will kick your butt! My only concerns are leaving personal belongings on hooks by the door and street parking. Other than that, a wonderful yoga studio for all level yogis. read more

Coming here for a class has always been more than just a workout for me, it's treating my body, mind and soul the way it should be treated. It's kinda like going to church, getting a massage, going for a hike, strength training, and meditating, all in one. It nurtures me physically, spiritually, and mentally - and I never knew yoga could be like this, until I came here! The space is simple, kind of small, and very zen, and it's perfect, and feels like home. I think the thing that really sets this place apart are the people here (the owner, instructors, and even the students). The staff is just really nice, friendly, and accepting, and the students come in all ages, shapes, and sizes and everyone feels welcome here. I'm partial to the flow yoga classes, but I've also enjoyed the pilates classes. There are other classes I haven't tried yet, but plan to try them at some point. My only regret is that I didn't start coming here sooner. I also belong to a gym that has yoga/pilates classes as well, but it really doesn't compare. It's a real treat to come here, and I love that I'm lucky enough to have the studio right in my neighborhood. read more

I've only just started going to this studio, but already I feel at home. I love the diversity of the classes. There is always a class to fit in my schedule. Love the teachers, they are very talented and I look forward to deepening my yoga practice at this studio. read more

I've tried a few yoga studios out in Philly since I moved here, and I am also very new in getting back into yoga. Yoga Garden has been my favorite for a few reasons. First, they were extremely welcoming when I came to drop in. Sometimes studios can be a bit snobby, but not at all here. The teachers are very warm and welcoming. From what I have experienced so far, they have an excellent balance of creating a rigorous practice but also making sure the spiritual aspect of the practice is in the forefront of everyone's minds. I just wish the Barefoot Bootcamp had additional classes, especially in the evening. Love that class!!! read more

I initially went to Yoga Garden to capitalize on a Groupon and immediately became a fan. I enjoy the instructors and classes. Always a good workout and a good way to relax and refresh after a busy day. Two complaints-someone took my brand new sandals and never returned them, and I wish there were more 6pm classes that were intermediate or advanced level classes, a 7:30 or 8:00 class during the work week is tough. read more

I have been doing yoga off and on for close to 40 years and more frequently since my recent retirement. I have been to many wonderful and not so wonderful studios throughout the country. Yoga Garden is truly exceptional in terms of the teachers, environment, spirit and community. Mark and Nikki are extremely knowledgeable about yoga and physiology and bring great skill and every day wisdom to their classes. All of the teachers are trained, prepared, and committed to teaching and growing their practice. I have gone to many gentle and all levels classes and have enjoyed many different teachers and have never been disappointed. I love the full schedule of classes that presents numerous opportunities to find a class. Finally, I'm am continually impressed how the Yoga Garden welcomes students of all ages and abilities. They are able to effectively support folks regardless of whether it is their first class or their daily routine, whether they are an an athlete and/or dealing with injuries or physical challenges. I am grateful to have found this yoga home. read more

The Yoga Garden is a wonderful place to practice, whether you are new to yoga or an old hand. I started 2 years ago, completely new to yoga and the Yoga Garden was a fantastic place to be a beginner. It is now a place where I go to relax. de-stress, and improve myself. Their instructors are wonderful ( Mark, Lisa, Colleen, Katrin and many more) and always willing to show you alternatives that are easier or more challenging depending on what you are looking for. The staff there (Christina and Kristen) are friendly and helpful. They also offer a range of Pilates classes and massage option. Their newest class is a boot-camp type cardio class that also mixes yoga, taught by Phyllis it's a total blast. You can't go wrong trying out this oasis of peace and calm in the middle of the Mainline. read more

Love, love, love this place! All of the teachers are so knowledgeable, sweet and helpful. Yoga has changed my life and I am so grateful that I started coming here several years ago. read more

While the space is lovely, the classes I took were not great. I signed up for a 3 session meditation seminar and while the teacher was good, the class was oversold, with nearly 40 people packed into a room made for 20. It was not relaxing and you could not even get your own space. I went to 2/3 classes and just ditched the 3rd. At the same time, I signed my 4 year old and me up for kids yoga. The class did not hold the kids' attention and the teacher tried to make the toddlers do actual yoga without incorporating stories, games or singing into it. They were good for about 10 minutes, then lost interest. Moms spent the last half of the class trying to engage their toddlers and get them to calm down. If you're looking for a good kids' yoga, Allison at the Creative Living Room's class in Swarthmore is A+. read more

2 stars because it's a nice studio set up. However signed up for a power yoga class and it turned out to be an hour and 15 minutes of slow stretching. So irritated now I have to do a second workout because my heart rate was at the pace of a snooze. read more

I attended the Sunrise Vinyasa with Kristin Page and she was fantastic. She constructed a challenging class with a perfect flow of movements and humor, which incorporated everyone's skill level and evaporated anyone's self-judgement. I was warmly welcomed, despite my lateness, the class participants were a healthy mix of different age groups, abilities, and genders. I came out of that class feeling like I could take on the world - well the world within Montgomery County at least. I highly recommend this experience. read more

Yoga Garden (both locations) is one of my favorite studios in Philadelphia. I usually take Mark's classes, and I highly recommend him as a teacher (he's also the owner). His classes are sweaty, bendy, stretchy and flowing but you can find that at any other studio. What you won't find is competitiveness or judgement, an element that's unfortunately present at many yoga studios. What I appreciate most about Mark is his genuine kindness and compassion. You will leave his class feeling better physically, spiritually and emotionally. If you have a regular practice I recommend taking an intermediate class. read more
