There is always a good selection of yoga clothes from popular yoga brands and even some original Shine merchandise. I could easily go broke. The locker room and bathrooms are immaculately clean. There are lockers, two showers and two bathrooms in the woman's changing area. Lets talk yoga... I usually stop in this studio when I am in the South Jersey area. Friday nights there is a community yoga class which runs around the $8 mark. A normal drop in costs $15 so the community classes are a great way to save. There are a few different styles of classes to choose from but my favorite is the 75 minute power yoga. The flow is fast passed and always keeps me on my toes (ok, pun intended). The flows are never predictable so I never get bored. The room is heated to about 90/95 degrees so be prepared to sweat! The instructors follow the Baptiste style yoga and will make corrections and offer modifications. Music is usually played during class, and it's not all ommm and shanti shanti. During savasana I was given a small cold hand towel to help cool off. Again, I only come to this studio occasionally but I feel that there is a strong yoga community built here at Shine. There are often unique yoga events like glow in dark yoga, yoga accompanied by a DJ, teacher trainings, kids yoga classes, all day yoga fest, etc. Follow Shine on Instagram for the latest updates and pics of your favorite yoga pose.

I committed…read moreto doing it, went online, found a location close to where I would be working today & signed up as a drop in. I have never ever taken a yoga class before so I signed up for a beginner class and I honestly don't know what I thought it was going to be.....but this wasn't it. First, I couldn't find the place. The gps kept saying arrived - but I didn't believe it because it kept taking me to a shopping center. I saw Kohl's, PetSmart and BurgerKing - no way would there be a yoga studio here. But there it was right next to the Spirit Halloween store with a sign as big as day. Ok so all that farting around looking for the place made me late. I walked in literally 3 minutes before the class started. I ran into a young woman who asked if she could assist me. After explaining that I was there for my first class and apologizing for walking in at the zero hour she told me she was the instructor and that she would wait for me while I changed. Ok - so far, so good. (For me anyway, idk about those 13 other people who had to wait for me) The studio is very clean, peaceful, spacious large windows covered with blinds to set the mood and a corner with mats, blankets, blocks & eye pillows in case you forgot yours. This is where it got a little confusing for me. I thought I would get a workout, I thought someone would correct poses & posture, I thought I would break a sweat or at the very least get a killer stretch. Nope, none of the above. The instructor was sweet and did say this was a beginners class which is what I wanted and she stated that she was pregnant and would be going slowly. Ok, all that's fine - but I'm sitting here wondering what I got out of that one hour class, did I do yoga? Or did I sit on a mat inhaling? On top of everything, $15 for a drop in seems pretty expensive when most other places charge between $7 and $10. I don't know if I'll be back. I kind of want to try a different instructor but am worried that if the class is like this one was, I'll be turned off to yoga. But at the same time, I don't like writing poor reviews and they offer so many classes that it could have just been a one off. There were 13 other people in that room so there is a really good possibility that it was just me and I probably just need more than just breathing.

At first I wasn't sure I was in the right spot but once you make you way up the stairs you enter into a haven of positive energy and warmth. They definitely transformed their space into a welcoming place of healing. I'm always in the lookout for yoga classes and meditation training classes so when this popped up on my feed, my curiosity peaked with the mention of didgeridoos and crystal bowls. I clicked and read a little more then immediately registered. Registration and payment was very easy online. Confirmation was sent to my email and i was all set. I do suggest reserving your space early because they tend to fill up. Not knowing what to expect I brought my yoga mat and a an open heart and mind. Now having attended a couple of times I suggest that anyone that would like bring yourself a blanket or pillow to add support for your back or neck BUT they do offer these items for use if you don't bring your own. I personally was fine with just my mat. The facilitators/owners make you feel so welcome and have such great energy I was very comfortable. They walk you through meditation and it is accompanied by the playing of giant crystal bowls with didgeridoos. It was a wonderful experience that I encourage anyone to try at least once, even if you do not meditate regularly. I left feeling an inner peace and calm that lightened my whole body, it was truly amazing. Reiki my yoga also offers certificate training and special events that you can easily register for through their website.

I've talked myself out of it each time the thought entered my mind. With many life changing events that have occurred recently my mind, body and spirit have been completely misaligned. I decided that I was no longer going to allow my negative self talk get in my way of taking care of myself and to give myself permission to take the time I need to heal. With that I started researching yoga studios close to my home. One Monday evening I decided to take a ride to Seeds of Love Yoga to "check it out". By chance, or Devine intervention, Kristin happened to be there even though at that time they typically wouldn't haven been open. When we started talking the energy in the room was just right. I felt a connection immediately and just knew this is where I wanted to start. Kristin was so warm and welcoming. She has a way of making you feel supported and understood. After we talked, I went home and signed up for a Saturday morning class and that class ignited a fire within me and I could feel all the negative energy leave my body. It was almost like a spiritual cleanse for me and I felt like I was home again. There are a lot of options for payment and they are all super affordable. You can pay for a membership with a portion of the membership cost going to help those in difficult financial situations be able to take yoga classes they otherwise wouldn't be able to. If you don't want to pay for a membership there is just an $8 suggested donation. A week in and I've taken two more classes and both were amazing. I'm looking forward to all the physical, spiritual and emotional healing that's to come. Thank you, Kristin, for creating space for all at Seeds of Love Yoga.
