We grabbed a bottle of wine on a warmer June afternoon after a day of exploring, which was definitely refreshing. The location isn't much as it overlooks a pretty bare piazza. The service can be a bit on the slower side, especially when I walked in and tried to get the bill. But still if you're able to get a table it's a pretty quaint wine bar. It seemed like they had some flights/tastings, which would have been an interesting option.

At this point we just left because it got ridiculous and about the water no it wasn't free they wanted 3.50 for a bottle of water that they said was free. Do not go here unless you want just wine.

After purchasing a few bottles at "enotecas", I found this place. Aesthetically, not much but the service and prices dropped my jaw! The abridged version... I left with 3 bottles. A belghori, Chardonnay, and a vermentino. None of these wines will ever be on Wine Spectators top 100 but if you are ordering "vino Della casa" while in Florence, you will be getting much better wines at a MUCH better price at Il Santo Vino. These have been our table wines for lunch and dinner at our apartment and have impressed me enough to go back and purchase more! I am very grateful to the owner for communicating with me in English. He took the time to explain the relative merits of each bottle he had for sale, including where they came from, the background of the region, etc. When I asked for recommendations, explaining that I prefer full-bodied Chiantis and Sangioveses, he made his recommendations and explained why he was recommending each. To his credit, he never steered me towards the unduly expensive selections. As he was ringing up the four bottles I purchased, I spied a bottle of grappa. He explained how it was made and suggested I try a bottle. While I have not yet gotten to try the wines (I almost don't want to open them!), it was a great shopping experience for authentic Italian wine straight from Italy!
