From gear falling apart quickly, to uncomfortable boot fittings, to ski tunes that didn't perform well on the mountain, my experiences have been disappointing. These guys will rent you one! They've got a cool, modern trailer that has all the latest tech that'll get you to the top of the Tetons grandly. Their expertise is impressive. They sell maps to help you get around, and the staff is ready to answer questions about any of the merch. They've got a hiking shoe selection that's hard to beat, and lots of the coolest latest gadgets that'll help you get over the river and through the woods. There's a second story to this place, I don't think there's an elevator available. One of my favorite things about this store are the displays- in the window and on the sales floor, they have little camping scenes set up, where they're highlighting their gear or clothing. This is a great outfitters to get outfitted in before going on that grand journey through the Great Outdoors.

One of the ducky boats our group rented ripped at the beginning of the ride. Not sure why it happened because we were following the guide. When we asked if we could get a refund for the two people who were in the ripped ducky, since they weren't all able to enjoy the ride and only got through 5 min of it, we were told no and that if anything we should be paying for the damage. I don't think that was fair of the owner to say something like that and to not even offer a refund or another ride.

We notified the guide and he just said for them to pull off and get out on the trail and kept going, he didn't stop or anything to make sure they at least got out safely. We kept going assuming they'd get out and get to the van but it had already left, and they had to walk barefoot dragging the boat to the top. I couldn't even enjoy most of the ride worried for my friends. When we finally got out of the water and found the girls, Mike (I assume the owner) didn't even see if they were ok but was pissed and made a comment about how they just ruined a $3000 boat. Again it wasn't their fault that it ripped and on top of that they had to sit out by the road without their shoes phones or anything (we left everything in the van) for 2 hours while we were rafting. When we went to ask if they could get a refund because they absolutely did not get the experience they paid for and Mike told us That not only will we not get a refund but we may have to pay for the boat that ripped, very unprofessional, very upset with this experience! The ride itself went great and had it not been for this experience with the owner it would've been 5 stars for me

Out party of three had no problem with the change. The guides were Royce (guide) Clayton (wrangler) and Kate (cook). I will say up front that they are the best. Very confident, knowledgeable and friendly. We had a medical issue come up with one of the other guest on day four that they handled expertly. This issue resulted in another change of route but again my party had no issues with the change.Kate needs special recognition as one fine trail cook. The meals she was able to prepare were excellent ranging from biscuits and gravy to eggs, bacon and potatoes for breakfast to the best steak I've had in my many visits to Cody to chili, spaghetti and pork loins for supper. She's the best. As for the actual ride itself, well all I can say is that I thought I'd be a lot more sore but in reality didn't feel bad once I was off the horse at the end of the day. Couple of notes, the altitude can play hell with your stamina if you're not acclimated, if you're shy about stripping down and bathing in a cold stream then bring lots of personal wipes. Make sure your sleeping bag is rated appropriately. I used a surplus Army two piece system that was perfect. Drink a lot of water throughout the day, don't wait til you're thirsty to hydrate. Trout fishing at the campsites was pretty good for those that fish. If you want a week long experience that will be the envy of your friends then you need to book this trip, remain flexible with any unforeseen changes and go enjoy the scenery.

From the moment we left the 2 male guides were perfect gentlemen, always willing to offer help with whatever we wanted or needed! Very thankful they brought their 2 dogs, as boldly they chased a grizzly off 2 nights! It was a little eerie one evening as we listened to wolves howling around us one night, but they didn't come into camp! The cook was female, very good and great company as we sat around camp one day swapping stories! They spoiled us and although we checked this off our bucket list, we would go again!

Washburn sign at the top with the elevation and a fire lookout that has a small exhibit inside. Since it is pretty popular, I recommend hiking in the morning before 10am to avoid the crowds and get a parking spot! There are two ways to hike up to Mt.Washburn: 1) Chittenden Road: 5 miles roundtrip, roughly 2.5- 4 hours. The trail starts at the parking lot and is the shortest route up Mt. Washburn. The road provides a wide trail and a gradual steady incline. 2) Dunraven Pass: 6 miles roundtrip, roughly 3-6 hours. I heard this trail is steeper and more wooded and forest-like. Great views as you're ascending Washburn though. I personally hiked Washburn up the Chittenden Road and saw lots of ewes and lambs. It was a pretty easy hike since the incline was gradual. Beautiful views at the top! Make sure you stay on the trail for both paths to avoid destroying fragile alpine vegetation. There is a possibility to see grizzlies especially late summer and fall so remember to carry bear spray and make lots of noise! Stay 100 yards away from bears and wolves and 25 yards away from other animals in the park.
