Not too sure what is going on but Dave seems distracted. The work for the most part was substandard and remains incomplete after months of his being "in charge". The painting, well I tell friends that is seems that people who have never held a paint brush were in our home recreating works resembling Jackson Pollock. All door hinges, door strike plates, and handles heavily covered in paint. My husband & I spent several hours scraping splatter off the floor. They dropped a brand new light fixture tbey were to install, didn't clean up very well they twice i stepped on large shards of glass. Then tbey proceeded to get paint on the replacement fixture and didn't wipe it off. Brand new carpet installed. 2 days later "plumbers" messed up and flooded the primary bedroom and master closet. Final straw, workers showing up at my door asking for payment as Dave hadn't paid them. We are now also getting phone calls. I am also having to look for new painters to hire to finish the job. Did not finish the project. Exceeded contract timeline by 2 months. Tile work was dismal. Cabinet install was amateur and of poor quality and left unfinished. Bathroom vents were never conected. Flooring was installed without clearing material underneath creating floor separation, bumps, dips and holes from flooring nails left behind. The only quality work performed was the subcontractor work i.e. plumbing and electrical. This company has no concept of "finished work". I would not recommend this company. read more

This review is long overdue. My sister and I own the home that belonged to my parents who have both passed. The house needed updates and a lot of repairs. David and the entire team at Enigma 1 have been miracle workers. We had issues with a previous contractor (not really a contractor but convinced us he could do the work). David and his team masterfully fixed quite a few of his mistakes. They replaced our poorly installed tile floors with beautiful vinyl plank. They also fixed a kitchen cabinet and countertop mistake and installed a new countertop. So much better and the workmanship was top notch. Did I mention the floors?! I smile every time I look at them. And the kitchen is absolutely beautiful. Other projects with Enigma 1 include: replacing front facing windows; exterior paint of the house and garage; columns wrapped in beautiful slate tiles (previously they were covered in red brick); security lights on the garage that are solar and come on automatically at night; xeriscaped the front yard and removed large olive tree; ceiling fan, blinds on windows, and dining room light installed; bathroom light installed after removing dated lights and built a box so the light hangs perfectly. The house is transforming into a beautiful home and I'm excited to continue the process. David is a one in a million person and contractor. He is honest, fair, and as my sister says "a true gem." This company is AMAZING!! We are a home owner and have dealt with many contractors over the years. David and his team are the BEST by far. He initially came to our home to give us an estimate on replacing our bathtub/shower. As he stood there he stated that it wouldn't feel right about doing that at a cost around $3,000. (Another contractor had come out prior to David and simply quoted us that basic price.) David stated that he could resurface the tub for a few hundred dollars. That was our first introduction to this man's honesty and integrity. We were trying to get our home ready for sale and needed a lot of other things done that would have required us to deal with multiple contractors and/or do it ourselves. We proceeded to give him a list that included painting/touch up painting rooms inside and a fence outside, replacing carpet, steam cleaning the ceramic tile/grout, cleaning the baseboards, cleaning the blinds, cleaning the windows, general cleaning and doing some landscaping (trimming shrubs, putting down fresh decorative stone and repairing a drip line leak), etc. He even had a package deal of replacing all of the smoke detector batteries and filters in the house. Keep in mind that this is a 4,100 sq ft house. He provided us with a detailed quote with a 96 hour completion guarantee that if he didn't meet would refund $500 off his initial quote. Completion was ON TIME and with OUTSTANDING quality of work!! I would trust David to any work needed around my home and you should too.
