Engine House Pizza was a great find. The pizza was fresh and really yummy you can definitely taste the quality in every bite. What stood out the most was the service. The guy making the pizza took the time to chat with us, and it turned into such a nice conversation. He made my family feel genuinely welcome, which made the whole experience even better. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable, especially for a tourist area. Overall, great food, great people, and great value. I'd happily come back again.

This pizza was great, from the crust to the cheese. Loved it! Steak and cheese was amazing bread was so fresh and soft. The service was great, friendly and quick. Place has great firefighter appreciation vibes.

I was in Boston for my niece's volleyball tournament and had the chance to check out Salem. We decided to have dinner here and it certainly did not disappoint. The pizza here is really good and came out hot and fresh. The crust was crispy (not overly crispy) and held the toppings well; the sauce was tasty. The price for two small pizzas, four drinks and mozzarella sticks was not super expensive and worth every penny. The mozzarella sticks were crispy and the cheese pull was great! Scott and the guy making the pizza were super nice and this place had a nice quaint ambiance. You had Miami Vice playing on the TV and all the good 80's songs playing...very 80's east coast pizzeria. IMO it's well worth a visit to this little gem.

This is a small cozy pizza place. Pizza is average. Their chicken buffalo wings are good. Staff is always friendly.

Delish, cheap, and well done pizza! So happy we went there to grab a pie! The space is quaint, you order first and then you have a seat!

Small place, big flavor. Owner was courteous and food was great. Calzones are huge and can have them with any of the pizza toppings.

When a server finally did approach our table, instead of asking if we had been helped, she asked if we were moving. There were four of us sitting there waiting for service, and the entire interaction made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. I don't like jumping to conclusions, but the difference in how we were treated made it very difficult not to question whether there was some type of bias involved. If that wasn't the reason, then there is still a serious issue with the level of service and how guests are being treated. The most disappointing part is that we drove all the way from Virginia to experience Salem and were genuinely excited to be here. To have one of our first experiences leave us feeling this unwelcome was incredibly upsetting. Waiting 20 minutes is one thing. Being completely ignored and then finally approached only to be asked if we were moving is another. Unfortunately, we left feeling like we simply weren't wanted there.

Solid 4 star pizza spot. Relatively quick to get food, relatively small inside seating fills up…read morequick. Pizza is thin crust style. Because the crust is so thin, it pools a decent amount of grease in the middle when it comes out right out of the oven. The pizza is significantly better if you let it cool and rest for a good 5 mins. Also makes it much easier for kids to eat after it sets up a little bit, otherwise it's going to fall apart/have cheese sliding off/put your kids in a downward spiral if you're like me. Otherwise, reasonably priced for the area. Drink menu very good as well. Good lunch spot.

The funky outer-space theme is packed with incredible memorabilia, including signed items from Star Wars, Star Trek, The X-Files, and more. Everywhere you look there's something interesting to check out while you wait for your food. The pizza absolutely lived up to the hype; fresh, flavorful, and worth the trip. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made sure our family had everything we needed. They had unfortunately run out of their famous garlic rolls, so we tried the gluten-free garlic slices instead. While we appreciated having an alternative, they just weren't the same. One funny family moment: my youngest was afraid to use the bathroom because of all the graffiti on the walls! Once I explained it was part of the restaurant's quirky aesthetic, he laughed about it. One small heads-up for future visitors: there is a step immediately outside the exit that can be easy to miss. My son took an unexpected tumble walking out. Thankfully, he wasn't hurt, but it's worth watching your step. Overall, the incredible pizza, unique atmosphere, and excellent service made this a place we'd happily visit again. If you're in the area, this place is definitely worth a landing.

I walked in and was hospitably greeted in such Bostonesque manners as "whaddya want?" And then I knew I'd love this. Sat at the bar with a buddy for a slice and a pop and the hilarity unfurled. The sisters that run this place are some funny old Boston broads with short manners and funny liners that will make you throw your head back and laugh. They give it as well as they take it. I had a riot interacting with these dames. So sitting at the bar and seems they get a lot of local retuning customers as they call em by their first names and know exactly what they wanna eat before they sit down. I asked for a pop or soda and was told "go get it it's in fridge.." to which I got my arse up and got my own coke. Was so funny. It did take like 15 minutes just to get a slice but the slices were 1/4 of a full pizza. Had one slice and was good to which the fiery sister reacted and made fun of me, which caused a hilarious uproar amongst my buddy and me. Giving me such hell but it was so funny! After we paid she told me to do her a favor and "don't let the knob hit me on the way out".... Omg I laughed so hard and then gave it right back to her by telling her her sister is better looking and nicer. What a great time! Will say pizza was decent; not knock my redsox off good but solid. A lot of people ordered their meatballs or stew however which is unique for a place named for pizza. I did stop back in later with the rest of my posse after telling them the story of how I was handled and they wanted to meet the ol ladies. They were so sweet and gave us a hug and we shared a few more jabs before departing finally. I'd go here just for the banter... and a slice of

1 Star - Unwelcoming Atmosphere and Poor Customer Service…read more Right off the bat, the vibes were off as soon as I walked in. An older woman, who I believe may have been the owner, greeted me with a rude "Can I help you?" that immediately made me feel unwelcome. After I was seated, the waitress also seemed rather unprofessional. I asked for sparkling water and was told to go grab it myself from the cooler. Excuse me? Why should I have to get my own drink when I'm sitting down to dine at a restaurant? The overall atmosphere and customer service were so unpleasant that I decided to leave before even ordering. I walked next door to Brodie's Seafood instead, where the atmosphere and overall vibes were much more welcoming. First impressions matter, and unfortunately, this place made a very poor one. As a visitor to Salem, I want to spend my money at businesses where customers are treated with courtesy and respect. Based on my experience, I wouldn't return or recommend this establishment.

I stopped by Piccolo Piatti mid-afternoon and the place was fairly busy with people hanging out waiting for their orders. I ordered a Salmon Bowl ($16 plus tax) which was ready in about 25 minutes after ordering since there were already large orders before mine. I watched the two cooks prepare food in the kitchen as I waited. The Salmon Bowl was really good with nice flavors, which had white rice, mixed greens, red onions, pico de gallo, hot tender honey glazed salmon smoothed with a pesto mayo. I will definitely have to drop in again for a hot sandwich with a smoothie!
