Amanda H.

Came here for the night after driving 15 hours. The staff was extremely pleasant on the phone helping me and answering my questions as I decide what is best for our family. The staff was very happy to setup after hours check in for us. We were very happy when pulling in to see a very clean campground. We were even more happy with our decision after visiting the restrooms/showers. The toilets and showers were new and the area was well-maintained. Plus, the restroom code worked every time with ease. There is a nice pool, playground, laundry area, and game room. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised with our last minute decision after reading the reviews from the past. The new owners know what they are doing. Highly recommend this KOA.

Bare bones, small, more of a parking lot, small sites on top of each other, no fire rings, guy in office was not too helpful.

Would not call this a resort...they had no full service hook up even though when we called to…read morereserve a spot they said they had full hook ups..water and electric only..they do have a dump station.. lake is beautiful but the rest of the place was disappointing..people in the campground very friendly we did not see one worker except the 2 young girls in the trading post..when we checked in they told us to drive around and find a spot then let them know which one we took..good price but would not recommend

I was told that this campground is the "crown jewel" of the thousand trails family but when I got here the park is not maintained nicely, they play favorites on who they assign sites to...the non premium sites, without sewer, are a free for all with no methodology on how they're assigned. If you want to call ahead to see what site you'll have, the thousand trails 1800 number has no answer and there is no direct phone number listed for this campground. Luckily, my membership was a free gift when I bought my new RV because if I had to pay for this place, I would've demanded my money back and driven 45 min back to 95 to stay at a pass through stop and been back on my way. This will be the last Thousand Trails I stay at, never making this mistake again!

Kerr Lake State Rec Area Bullocksville - Site #47 at Bullocksville Campground

Bullocksville Campground is one of our favorite campgrounds at the Kerr Lake Recreation Area. We…read moreusually camp there at least once in early spring and again in the fall. We usually camp midweek to avoid crowds on the weekends. We've always managed to snag a site right on the Lake. This last site was #47. Beautiful views and large sites make for a lot of privacy. Many people fish from shore and there is a fishing pier in the campground. The bathhouse is well maintained. The only negative from our last visit was the the dump station was closed and we had to drive to Nutbush Bridge Campground, about 15 miles away. We highly recommend Bullocksville Campground.

We camped here for 4 days, Wednesday through Sunday (10/2-10/6). The site had small piles of trash…read morewhich we picked up before putting up our tent. The view was beautiful, however, the noise level was much to be desired. The first 2 nights we were the only campers in the area, very peaceful. On Friday and Saturday, we had 2 neighbors talking/ laughing until 2:30 am and another that had a baby crying consistently throughout the night. In addition, there simply aren't enough showers, especially clean ones, to accommodate the number of sites. We did meet some great folks and had fun, however, compared to other state parks, this one needs to make some changes in order to improve campers experiences. If you are wanting to connect with nature in a quiet environment, choose elsewhere.
