What an awesome introduction to tiny home living. I read up on places to stay and visit in Rocky Mount, NC, and River & Twine topped the list of lodging recommendations. There are about a dozen tiny homes in this little community, each of them named after rivers that run through North Cackey. What's cool is that the unit is smartly designed with everything that you could possibly need in such a small square footage. Be comfortable in close quarters if you're lodging with someone! What's especially cool about this tiny hotel community is that it's nestled in a residential community with breweries, a coffee shop, a pizzeria, and a really nice community center. All in Rocky Mount. If you venture out during your stay there, Raleigh is less than an hour away. Another great city to check out, most definitely.

Truly an amazing find! I love the simplicity in the design and the comfort of the space. We stayed for one night and it was perfect for the both of us. The house was clean, had cable, WiFi, and a Keureg machine with coffee pods. Best of all, it was walking distance to Rocky Mount Mills, which had many breweries and restaurants to choose from. We even took advantage of the firewood provided on the property and enjoyed the rest of the evening by the fire pit. A great alternative to a hotel and definitely a stay you won't forget.

Having seen tiny houses on TV and ready about them, we've always wanted to stay in one just out of curiosity. We booked a room on a Thursday night and it was kind of eerie since I think we were the only people staying there -- we didn't see a soul until the next morning. It was unique but we probably won't do it again. The steps up to the loft bed are really steep, there is one sink (no bathroom sink), and we had a few mosquitos with us. It was nice that they included a map to Rocky Mount Mills along with menus and a coupon for coffee. There were outdoor fire pits but not really available for use in early September (they were also waterlogged). I'm sure many people will enjoy this but having done it once, that's about good for us.

Great place to stay! The Tiny homes are very nice. Great accommodations. Rocky Mount is a great small town for vacations.

Love this place. I'm in The Albemarle, a lovely space with everything I need. The design is spectacular. This is a great option if you are in the Rocymount area -- and I have my own record player!

Ask the Community - River & Twine

Are there houses with 2 beds?

Most have some kind of fold out option that would be good for 2 kids. 4 adults would be pretty unhappy in these units.

Instead, I found myself in a charming tiny house, nestled into a wooded area next to Rocky Mount Mills.

Not too many choices in the immediate area and this one rose to the top. Not disappointed at all…read more The first room I checked into had a dead AC. Yeah, that's not going to work. Called the desk and within a couple of minutes they said to meet someone at another room. Perfect. All working and settled. During a one night stay I needed one thing and once again I was very surprised how quick service was especially at after 10:00 PM. From check in to check out super friendly and fast service. Seeing some of the other reviews I wonder if some of the rooms are more challenged than others. For me there was nothing to complain about at all.

This was one of the most uncomfortable rooms I've stayed in. I checked in on the app only to never…read morereceive a digital key. Upon arrival, I was told that the room that the app reserved for me was not yet available. No big deal so I took another room. The beds here are the worst I've ever slept on. I could not sleep very well because you can hear everyone else on your floor every time they make a move. When I finally decided to get out of bed because I realized there is no comfortable position, I realized that trying to find a way to sleep only hurt my back during the night. Instead of a nice relaxing evening in a hotel room on the road, I received a stressful night of loud noises and a bed from hell!! The bathroom door would not stay completely open because of the hair dryer and towel hanging pegs. This makes it difficult to enter and exit the bathroom without bumping the door. There was no snacks to purchase in the lobby. The staff was nice but I believe one of the ladies that helped me just started so this lead to a much longer check in process. Limited parking due to construction equipment. The front awning was blocked off for some reason. The place appears to be under renovation. The room I was in appeared to be recently renovated but I truly hope I'm wrong. I will avoid this place in the future. Life is too short to waste money like this. If this review sounds like I'm bouncing all over the place it's due to a lack of sleep and extreme discomfort from staying here. AVOID-FOR YOUR OWN WELL BEING!!
