The presentation was immaculate, usually I care more about the taste but the simplicity and thoughtfulness of each plate made me pause and appreciate the presentation. Each dish was the right temperature, tasted amazing and left me wanting a bit more, but the next dish would come and I'd want more of that and the next...until I was completely stuffed. The pacing was nice ans steady, not leaving too much time to be bored and not too little time to feel like the last bite hasn't gone down. I enjoyed every aspect of this experience- and loved that they offered for us to meet the kitchen staff as well!

Most of the seats in the restaurant are at the kitchen counter, where you get to watch the chef's cook and plate everything. The playlist is awesome, the food is awesome, the service is super friendly and professional. The menu shows influences from Spain, Italy, and Japan, among others. It is a relatively quick tasting, the food is very palatable, you don't get overwhelmed but are very satiated by the end. There wasn't a weak course for me - everything was cooked perfectly. Heavy focus on seafood as expected, but there is a main entree (pigeon, or upgrade to a beautiful a5 wagyu cut - what I did). The bread service was amazing (4 types of butter, 2 types of salt, 2 types of olive oil). The amuse were clean and make you excited for the meal. There are 5 options for champagne aperitifs, and a great selection of wines by the glass. The desserts are phenomenal, some of the best I had on my trip, not overly sweet or indulgent but just right. The meal left such an impression that I tried to come back the next day with my husband (no seats left unfortunately); but I did add on a reservation to Paulo's 1 star in Barcelona (Aleia), which showed some similarities to this menu and was also very good. Can't wait to return to SS and Amelia!

We got one Vegetarian Menu and one Degustacion Menu without lactose. When you make the reservation, they ask about allergies and children so that they can tailor your meal to your needs. Our server was a lovely woman (Olatz) who was friendly and knowledgeable. She did a very nice job describing each dish without being obnoxious or pretentious. She paid attention so that she wasn't rushing us through the courses with a very nice pacing. She was attentive without being intrusive. We did not get the wine pairing but ordered individual glasses of wine which were 7 EUR each, water was 4 EUR and espresso at the end of the meal was 3 EUR. The food was wonderful with great flavors, combinations, and creativity.

Ecstatic with our choice; highly recommended. View: 15 minutes drive from downtown. Online photos showed nice night and day views, but we chose lunch to maximize visibility. Smart choice: One of our best dining views to date. We sat in front of the panoramic windows and were treated to spectacular views of San Sebastián city, beaches and mountains. TIP: earlier lunch seating probably gives best views. Food: There were 2 tasting menus: we chose the 10-course "de la casa" (house) menu. Food was varied and beautifully presented. We loved the lamb rump mosaic, green apple and cider, live clam rice, and "interludio". Other dishes were good, but not at the same level. We were also treated to an extra dessert course and coffee/baileys shot - a great way to end the meal. We felt the wine pairing was pricey, so opted for a recommended bottle of Albariño which complemented most of the courses, a glass of red rioja for the meats, and a muscatel for dessert. Didn't feel like a compromise. Service: Wonderful staff especially Xabier and Jonathan who took care of us. Service was laid back, sometimes slow, but always warm and friendly. We took over 3 hours for the entire meal, but loved the whole experience.
