Very poor experience and huge waste of time. Appointment was made with Dr. Adcock based on what I…read morewould classify as a "just in case" referral from my primary dentist. They were late to take me back and, like other reviewers' experience, insisted on high priced assessments out of pocket. Indeed they refused access to the doctor without me agreeing to submit to 3D CT for $200 out of pocket. As background: I arrived 25 minutes early to manually fill out patient information on their office tablet because their web portal had technical issues. After completing submission, front desk staff mentioned I may be required to have a 3D CT scan at $200 out of pocket. This was not mentioned in setting the appointment. I replied that I preferred to speak to the doctor before that. They called me back to a room 20 minutes later than the stated appointment time. In the room, the medical assistant stated that I would be required to have a 3D CT scan before seeing the doctor. I asked why since they already had X-Ray images from my referring dentist which were clearly on the screen. They said they did not know when those were taken which could have easily been determined. I told the assistant that I had expressly stated at the front desk that I wanted to see the doctor before any other imaging. She stated I could not see the doctor without the 3D CT scan and they doctor would not consult with me without this. In effect, they refused access without me spending the money. At best, this signals a lack courtesy and professionalism. At worst, it suggests a practice more focused on money making than patient care. What an embarrassment to the profession! Of course, I informed my referring dentist about this highly negative experience. I hope others remain diligent in seeking care.

Title: Periodontist CT Billing Scam - Beware…read more I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience to help others avoid being taken advantage of. I had a severe infection around a dental implant. My dentist prescribed antibiotics and suggested that if things didn't improve, I should see a periodontist for possible implant removal and gum/bone treatment. I went to see Dr. Thalida Dong in Spring, TX. The Technician took an intraoral periapical x-ray. After reviewing it, and examining my mouth. She then recommended a CT scan to see the deeper gum and bone area--adding that insurance usually doesn't cover CT scans. I initially declined, but in pain and desperate for answers, I agreed and paid $375 out-of-pocket. After reviewing the scan, Dr. Dong said my implant "looked good," even wiggled it, stating it was not loose, and noted some gum and bone loss. She offered no real treatment--just said the crown should be replaced and that I should see a regular dentist. Three days later, my implant became loose. I called the office, requested my CT scan, and while waiting overheard another patient being sent for a CT scan. I later spoke to the patient outside--she was also charged $375 for the scan plus $50 for the consultation, despite having Delta Dental PPO. Dr. Dong had told her the exact same thing about insurance not covering it. After researching, I discovered they used code D0381 for my CT scan--a code insurance often denies--instead of using a billable code D0365, which is typically covered once per year under my plan. In addition my consultation was 100% covered in-network, yet Dr. Dong still billed Delta Dental $70 for it. In my opinion, this looks like a deliberate CT scan billing scheme to collect cash instead of using insurance benefits. I would not trust a person who runs a dishonest practice to work on my mouth.

His education, back-ground, GPA, etc., etc., etc., are beyond reproach. "Cum Laude from Brandeis University, where he majored in Neuroscience, Psychology, and Biology. As a dentist, he has achieved Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry, which is a distinction that less than 10% of dentists in the United States hold. He is also a Fellow of the International College of Oral Implantologists, a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, and a Qualified Dentist of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine." All that's wonderful. I'm proud for him. BUT, that's not the point of this writing. What is exceptional in my mind, is Dr. Glick possesses the unique "chair side manor" of being able to translate the very technical nature of the problems/repairs/goals and objectives he and the team have discovered to a Real World, easy to understand explanation. And, with options. One can tell Dr. Glick genuinely cares for the welfare of his patients. I am absolutely convinced, because Dr. Glick choses to offer his great bundle of abilities to those of us in The Woodlands, we are the winners!

About 6 mos ago,I came in for a cleaning and check up, which was fine. A week later I developed severe pain in a back molar that already had a root canal. Dr. Helen Sergerie diagnosed an infection and prescribed an antibiotic and told me the only tx was to pull the tooth. I asked her multiple times, isn't there any way to save the tooth? No, she said , it must be pulled and sent me to an oral surgeon. I was told the surgery involved IVs, implants, tooth replacements and 6 mos before I would be finished. I went home to consider and took the antibiotics for 4 days and when I was still having pain, I called Dr. Helen Sergerie to ask if another antibiotic would be more effective. She said, Sorry, there's nothing more I can do. Wow, never got that from a Dr before! I finished taking the antibiotics and every day used alot of Listerine and the infection with its pain went away. I wasn't sure about all that other tx so waited to see how the tooth did. 6 mos later, no problems but I needed another teeth cleaning so stupid me, went back to Sagewood. Yup. Got another infection with that same tooth. Well I couldn't believe that my tooth couldn't be saved so I went to my previous dentist at Sterling Ridge Dental. One look and Dr Cope said, absolutely, that tooth can be saved! He sent me to Advanced Clinical Endodontics, (ACE) and sure enough they performed a re-root canal and prescribed strong antibiotics and finally cleared up the infection and fixed the problem with the tooth. One day! Not 6 mos! Stay away from the revenue focused, Dr. Helen Sergerie.
