I had a fabulous experience @Endo Care Group Orinda! From the start of making my first appointment with Marcella in their Pinole location, I was greeted in a very friendly and compassionate manner and she was able to get me an emergency appointment for the following day which was VERY appreciated! At my appointment in Orinda I was warmly received by Misha.The office was very CLEAN, Sanitary and Covid-19 guidelines being followed, ie: hand sanitizing, taking of temperatures and social distancing and scheduling staggered appointment times. I was seen by Dr. Nesari and his assistant Jennifer. Both had a awesome bedside manner and were able to make me feel comfortable and cared for. I myself have been in the dental field for 20+ years always the assistant or front office but never the patient. I was really nervous, But Dr. Nesari & Jennifer totally explained everything and put my mind at ease. Dr. Nesari made sure I was numb the entire time and this procedure was pretty much painless, minus getting numb which can't be avoided. He went above and beyond by giving his after hours phone number in case I needed him or more pain meds. Thankfully the Root canal was successful and I was totally fine later that evening and in the days to follow. I cannot Thank EVERY ONE @ Endo Group enough for getting me out of pain! I will always recommend this office to anyone I know who's in need of a endodontist. Hopefully I will never need another root canal, But if I Do I know who to call!! read more

This office will get you and send your bill to collection for small amount. The services at the best Mediocre. I had two dental insurances at time of visits- I was told pre visit that I didn't need to pay for a simple consultation. At the end of my visit, I paid around $150 for their consultation despite of having two insurances. Then they said I own another $120 since the insurances didn't cover the expanse. It turns out the insurance has covered part of it. So, they send remaining to collections. I will check with my primary to see what the screw up was but this office visit turn out to be highway robbery! - Avoid this office, there are much better endodontist with a bit of conscience on tell you the truth and more ethical read more

I have had two visits with this office and paid the bill for each visit. The amounts I paid matched the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from my insurance. After the insurance payment was processed, an additional charge of $204 was added. I did not agree to or sign for this charge, and it was not submitted to my insurance. However, I have been receiving invoices requesting payment for this balance. read more

I have been to Endo Care in Orinda twice now. Let's just say I am a very anxious patient and very fearful of procedures ESPECIALLY a root canal. Their entire Staff is understanding, professional and will find a way to make you comfortable. Misha is the office manager and she will call your dental provider , do all the paperwork for you, and explain what if any out of pocket costs you may incur. Misha was so very kind and patient because I did not want to go (but knew I had to). She never gave up on me !!! This is a review of the front office person, Misha. She is very rude and not helpful. I walked into the office. She appeared as if I was an inconvenience and she did not say "Hello" or "How can I help you?". She only stated did you fill out the paperwork that I texted you. I stated I was driving and didn't know I received any. She then pointed to the couch and said you can fill it out there (expecting me to complete it on my phone). I requested physical paperwork which she then provided. I called later for some information and she was not very nice on the phone. She was very dismissive. Misha needs to understand that the front office is the face of the office and to treat people with respect, kindness and care. Everyone who comes to the office is either in pain or discomfort. SHE will make it hard to return. Dr. Azim was wonderful! He was very competent and took the time to explain everything. I'm sure I would get good care from him. Had a tooth that was hurting for a couple of days. Made an appointment with my general dentist who immediately referred me to Endo Care Group in Orinda. Thankfully, they were available to take me that day since we were approaching a holiday weekend. I am a very anxious (difficult) patient and Dr. Milan and Jennifer were professional and caring. Dr. Milan explained the procedure that I would be having and Jennifer helped reassure me throughout the process. I have difficulty with dental procedures because of the sound of drilling, but Jennifer's singing softly to the office music actually helped to calm my nerves. I visited this office around 8 months ago for a second advice on whether my tooth needed a root canal treatment. Before the visit, I provided my insurance information and I received confirmation that the visit would be free of charge if only x-ray images were needed for diagnostic, which it was the case. When I visited the office I asked again about the cost and after my insurance were checked for the second time I was assured this visit would be at no cost. I met the doctor, received the advice and left the office. Last week I received an email that you owe $234 for your visit 8 months ago!!! which is the remaining balance after your insurance paid the bill. When I tried to explain this is not what I was told, it is unacceptable, and if I was informed that I had to pay for the visit I was avoiding getting a second opinion from you, the answer was this is what it is and either you pay the bill or we send it for collection. I understand Covid-19 impacted many business and dental practices were impacted harder, but this is unprofessional and even unethical attracting patients by presenting false information on cost and send them bills months later. I cannot comment regarding the quality of their treatment since I haven't done my root canal there, but I recommend avoiding this business if you don't want to get surprised bills months later. read more

Note: This is a bad review referring to one particular aspect of their business and practice. The doctor was great during my first appointment. I wanted to get a treatment here again. So I called and asked for opening slots and cost. I was told that they would give me a call on Friday regarding my out of pocket cost. I told them, I need to know about it before scheduling or just before the appointment. But they scheduled my appointment anyways (Tuesday) and I thought, oh they will tell me the cost on Friday as they said, so I could decide right there, right then, whether or not I could keep the appointment. This process is called "confirmation". But no, they called 30 minutes before my appointment to let me know that it will cost me $400. If I cancel, she said, I will be charged a late fee. The person who communicated this with me, was so defensive and arrogant, her phone call manners were terrible and unempathetic. She kept telling me, "I spent 3 hours calling your insurance to get your benefit information that I had to stay till 5:30 for it. But as a courtesy to you, we do that for you but it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to do it actually." Holy ....! Is she for real? Is she a child? Does she know the concept of professionalism and commitment? You said you (or the office) will let me know in advance. But then you didn't even try to call and still blame me? Why didn't you let me know right at the time I called asking "Hi, I want to book an appointment but I need to know my out of pocket first." You should have told me right then, that I should do the benefit checking myself. Which is still odd, because the other 2 dentists I went to do it for their clients. Do not assume people have $400 lying around waiting to be spent in the next 30 minutes. I doubt you yourself could do that. So please have empathy. This was supposed to be my second appointment. My first visit though, they did tell me in advance (days before my appointment) regarding my out of pocket cost. So I would never know that this is some kind of their special service that this clinic does not usually offer. read more

My daughter experienced a fall last week which caused trauma to her teeth. We saw her regular Dentist and also took a visit to her Orthodontist. However upon visiting Endocare where a CT scan was offered, Dr. Tran was able to locate a fracture in my daughter's bone and other damage that was missed by the other offices. Gratefully the necessary work was completed on the same day instead of weeks out, as her general dentist scheduled, although I called to affirm the need for her to get any salvaging work completed sooner. I will say that this office is cute, small, but certainly efficient. My daughter has had little pain since her procedure and is pleased with the thorough service. I appreciated Dr. Tran's explanation of the work to be done and the follow up work that would be required. I don't like delays, and know that delays cause problems, so two weeks to follow up after treatment, instead of six weeks after just "checking" sounded like a great idea! Thankfully, I have insurance that is accepted by this office, if he could be my family's general dentist, I'd gladly go here. The state of the art equipment makes a HUGE difference in the service you'll receive and having someone knowledgeable and trained helps with the aftercare. The front office receptionist, Misha, made sure to go over all of our out of pocket expenses thoroughly and made sure I understood what was expected in the upcoming visits. She explained how to care for the area serviced and even followed up this morning to check on my daugther's comfort level. She made sure to get the information of our general dentist and orthodontist in order to send over their completed work and findings. I've never had that type of stellar service before at a dental office! When I followed up with my dental office yesterday they didn't even know we'd been to the orthodontist already....they told us to go! Visiting EndoCare is like stepping into a five star hotel after visiting 3 star hotels. There is a noticeable difference! It's sad that an emergency led me here, but I'm so glad that I was able to get my daughter the care that she needed, because they cared more about the health of my daughter's teeth over a claim payment. This was my first root canal and it was such a great experience! I suffer with anxiety, especially when it involves dental work because they are working in my mouth - keeping my mouth open for such a long time and I have a sensitive gag reflex. All that said, Endo Care Orinda was gracious, kind, and so professional! I was relaxed throughout the entire process because of their work ethic. I really can't recommend Dr. Dadvand highly enough. I have had horrible experience with dentists and root canals, including a root canal where I was not properly numbed and began to feel everything happening in the middle of the procedure. My body literally has a reaction whenever I enter the dentist's office, and I have held onto a lot of shame for feeling my issues with my teeth were completely my fault. When I had my very first appointment with her--just to check out if I needed to have a previous root canal I got in another state redone--I began crying in the chair--which is usually how It goes. She stopped immediately, sat me up, got me tissue and asked me what was going on. She was genuinely concerned and listened and provided information that helped me see a lot of my issues with my teeth are actually genetic. She and her staff supported me in scheduling an appointment, helped me figure out finances, and made recommendations regarding what type of anesthesia would be most appropriate for me. On the days of the actual procedures (I had a two part-er); her staff were wonderful and welcoming (I wish I could remember names but was anxious!) and the office was quiet and calm. She checked in with me before to see how I was doing and followed up after both times to make sure I was recovering ok. I had no pain during the procedure and no longer have any trouble with that tooth. I also was able to attend my next dentist and orthodontist appointments without crying, which is a first for me in literally almost a decade. I am so thankful I had my root canal done here, and am even more thankful I no longer feel such shame about my dental issues. Thank you Dr. Dadvand and all the wonderful staff who supported me through what I was sure was gonna be a another traumatic time at the dentist --you all made it reparative and easy! read more

I had a situation with my son who had a dental emergency and we were referred here from a Pediatric Dentist. I was blown away when they saw us the same day for a very complex procedure that was urgent. My son was in a lot of pain. Deb, the receptionist was friendly and helpful then we proceeded into the procedure for my son. Dr. Milan was highly professional but also had a relaxed manner that really helped my son. She was on his level and engaged with him, not just me. The assistant made sure to check on how comfortable he was and they put on his favorite music Cash Cash (They were listening to Pandora so it helped him relax, the next best thing to 99.7.) My son cannot tolerate dental procedures well and has never been able to hang in there. This time he hung in there for a portion of the process as she used nitrous oxide and gentle reassurance. He reached a point where he just could not continue. We are going to have to go back with more sedation by mouth for the procedure (as he needs more than Nitrous Oxide.) What impressed me SO much was how she listened to HIM about whether or not to keep going and if he could tolerate what was happening to him. He was freaked out and she paid attention to how he was doing and if he could tolerate it. I am so impressed and also touched at how caring and genuine she is. It makes me feel less stressed at going forward with the next step. read more

Went to the dentist after experiencing quite a bit of pain from two broken teeth (bicuspid and molar). I was told the molar was so impacted that it was irrecoverable and had to be extracted, while the bicuspid needed a root canal before a crown could be applied. The dentist referred me to Endo Care for the root canal, and they were able to see me the same afternoon. Turns out Dr. Sahar Dadvand thought otherwise on the molar, and instead recommended a crown lengthening instead of extraction. Three procedures and two weeks later, she did a fantastic job on the root canals and post build-ups. Surprisingly there was absolutely no pain or discomfort during or after the procedure, and no need for pain meds. Highly recommended if you're in need of quality care. read more

I don't usually get root canals, so don't have much experience with endodontists, but I was so impressed with the service I got today from Endocare Orinda. A few days the first part of a two part root canal, my temporary crown (which had actually been fitted by another group--long story) began bothering me. I called this morning to see if someone could look at it, and I was literally in the door in 30 minutes--the endodontist took a look, saw the issue, and corrected it in 5 minutes. This review is for Dr. Dadvand and Jen, who assisted in my root canal. My first meeting with Dr. Dadvand was in the Oakland Endocare office and they were equally wonderful there. I went in on a saturday with an infection and needed an emergency oral surgery. It was by far the least fun dental procedure I've ever had. I am BEYOND grateful to Dr. Dadvand and her bedside manner, and treating me like a human. All too often, my experience with dentists is they see me as a walking dollar sign and it leads to a bad experience. This was not the case with Dr. Dadvand. While she caused me a lot of pain, she assured me I would feel much better and even called me personally the next day to be sure. Fast forward to the root canal. She was wonderful and thorough with the root canal. Her assistant Jen was also fantastic. They talked through everything that was going on, and asked me if I was ok multiple times. They asked me if I wanted nitrous but were honest with me that if I didn't want to pay the extra money, it probably wasn't necessary since I survived the last procedure, the root canal would probably be a walk in the park. They were right! I'm sure nitrous would have been a far more enjoyable experience but it was an extra bit of money that I didn't feel like paying. Overall a 5/5 experience. I would 100% refer my friends and family to Dr. Dadvand at Endocare without batting an eye. The experience was great from the moment walking in the door to the moment walking out. I know it sounds crazy since they're actually performing root canals... but they have it nailed down there! read more

Dr Dadvand is an excellent endodontist for my first experience of root canal treatment. She's so kind and performed brilliant professional services. Her office in Orinda is a decent environment equip with many high tech facilities for all check up. I had 2 visits for the whole treatment. I nearly had no pain during all procedures surprisingly but only felt the anesthesia shots. They were so thorough in all their dealings and work on my root canal, it was a difficult procedure however with Dr. Reza Hamid and his assistants Monica and Jennifer the work proceeded smoothly. I was referred to ENDOCARE by my regular dentist for tooth pain in a tooth that I had already had a root canal. This was the second endodontist that I had seen in the same day, the first one couldn't fit me into a same day consultation. I called the Orinda location and the receptionist Deb said come in and they would take care of me. When I arrived the facility was very clean, the staff were very welcoming and just being there gave me some relief. I was offered something to drink while I was filling out my paperwork. Dr. Marites Milan and her assistant got me right in and figured out what was going on with my tooth and gave me my options on what could be done. My whole experience at this location was amazing and all thanks to the staff at this location. Before I left the receptionist Deb answered more questions for me and told me to call her anytime if I had more questions. She was one of the best front end people I have encountered in a long time. My experience with Dr. Dadvand was extremely positive. I felt the entire time that I was in the best hands. I was made completely comfortable, and each part of the procedure was explained to me every step of the way. I was so relaxed during my root canal, that I actually fell asleep briefly! My spouse had her first root canal done by Dr. Dadvand. It was a back molar with an unusually complex root structure. Though it was a long procedure on a hard to reach tooth Dr. Dadvand was very patient and encouraging. The treatment took two sessions and she was comforted and impressed that Dr. Dadvand kept in contact with her over the weekend via text message to make sure the pain and healing was progressing normally. I couldn't be happier with the care I received here from receptionist Deb, Dr. Patwardhan, and dental assistant Jennifer. Some background to my situation for comparison: I had gotten my 4th root canal in the upper right part of my mouth a few days after Christmas 2017 at a different endodontist and was 13 weeks pregnant at the time. Needless to say symptom relief and treatment options are limited while pregnant and I was told the second trimester is the safest time to receive dental treatment. I was referred to an endodontist near my house and it was the most traumatizing dental visit ever. I was in tears before the procedure began because I was in pain, I was nervous, and I hoped it wouldn't hurt my baby. The dental assistant was nice: she offered me tissue and asked what music I would like to listen to. With the procedure, he didn't numb me all the way so I felt the drill. Of course I flinched in pain and I started balling. Already in my tooth, the told me I had an abscess. I've learned when there's an infection, the pH in your mouth doesn't allow the numbing medication to work as fast. So he had to inject in the infected ligament... the pain shot up my face. And he did the numbing in the roof of my mouth after all of this. I was in the chair crying the whole time. He didn't really do anything or say anything to comfort me except for "I need you to relax so you don't start hyperventilating". Although I know the infection makes for a different experience for a root canal, I didn't feel like I was being taken care of. It felt like it was an "in and out" appointment. After paying around $500 for treatment I left sad and traumatized. Within that week I felt sensitivity on the OTHER side of my mouth. I thought I couldn't go through another root canal again. I looked online for the best endodontists and I found Endo Care. I went in about 2 weeks after my last root canal, now almost 16 weeks pregnant. I arrived 45 minutes early to my appointment and managed to keep my cool in the waiting room. Deb greeted me with a smile. As soon as Jennifer, the dental assistant, took me from the waiting room and sat me in the chair, I started crying. I was so emotional, nervous, scared... she reassured me the whole time I was in good hands. Dr. Dadvand walked in and immediately asked me about my concerns. I told them about the trauma from my last dental visit and they knew exactly how to take care of me. She also reassured me that she would check to make sure areas are numb before she proceeded and that she won't work when there is pain. She even offered to do it in two visits, which I kindly declined, but it was the thought that she wanted me to be comfortable and in control the entire visit that really relieved me. Laying down in the chair, Jennifer wiped my tears for me (thank you!) and Dr. Dadvand made sure I was comfortable the whole way through. Doc thanked me for being a good patient and she was proud of me :') (Thank God that I didn't have an abscess in this tooth) The procedure felt like a "normal" root canal. I just happen to have a deep rooted tooth with 4 roots so it took longer than what I've been through before. I would like to personally thank Dr. Dadvand and Jennifer for your thoughtfulness and care to make sure I was comfortable and enabling me to instill trust in dentists again. My next visit might still be nerve wracking but I could do better now that you've helped an exponential amount!!! The old saying is that emergencies happen on weekends and holidays. I had a lot of pain with a tooth just 4 days before Christmas. My lower right jaw was so swollen I looked like I had a lopsided wattle. I needed a root canal on an emergency basis. My regular dentist referred me to Dr. Bokhour, Endodontist in Orinda. She was gentle, thorough, and followed the procedure with a series of antibiotics for any possible infection. She talked me through several possible scenarios for my cracked tooth and she put me at ease.
