I had hit a weight loss plateau and wanted a guided class to try new workouts. In my third class, I was being helped by a new instructor and Alex (the manager) or so I thought. It was clear that during the whole class that I needed modifications and guidance. In my last station #18, it was a box jump, since I was not guided to not do it, I tried it and felt my knee pop. I was stuck on the box since I couldn't step down with just one functional leg and in excruciating pain. Alex ran over and helped me down and was evaluating my knee. He said to elevate it and ice it and that if I didn't feel better, I should get seen by a physician the next day. He also mentioned "oh, you had an injury already" which I was adamant I had never. Long story short, it's been 4 months later, full right lateral meniscus repair (not a shave down) and thousands in medical bills, I'm using a cane after 2 months preop because of the long recovery due to this injury and a big hit to my weight loss journey. The only response I got from this place was that since I signed a waiver, it was my own liability and any injury is on me. Why have 2 instructors if you don't need to be guided and coached on these dangerous exercises that are not meant for everyone? As a medical professional it is mind boggling that a franchise like this is so irresponsible and has such negligence with their clients after having to pay big bucks to attend these classes. I truly hope this doesn't happen to you because the physical, mental and emotional pain this has caused me all these months is truly devastating . Btw i am 36, so no this shouldn't have happened to me. See attached convos with the staff and their response.

I almost hit a silver haired fellow because he was in all black with no reflectors. I honked and he yelled at me and banged on my car with his hand. They need to be in reflective gear and aware of their surroundings they do not own the road and are a hazard to safe drivers. I then called them to report the issue, and make sure they addressed this with their customers. The woman who answered the phone could not have been ruder telling me "I must not be a runner" and that I had a "bad attitude" she really rubbed me the wrong way. Funny thing is is that I am an attorney and a part time personal trainer so I am well versed in all laws, guidelines and safety protocols of both lines of work. The rude woman then hung up the phone ON me and could not be bothered to address her facilities lack of safety protocol for their patrons. The man was running in the middle of the road in all black, does he have a death wish? Do the trainers there not care about their patrons enough to make sure they are dressed properly to do their workout? It is truly deplorable. The town and the chamber of commerce have already been notified about the incident, along with various other complaints from local residents in regard to this and their patrons illegal and dangerous parking on neighboring roads. There are so many other crossfit gyms in the area, take your money and go to one that cares about your safety and well being.

COACH CHANDO: 1)…read moreOBSERVANT - In the 2 days (90 minutes combined) I had visited the training center, he seemed to know everything about me just by the way I was training with him. Keep in mind that there are other students in the class, but he notices every detail about his students, the breath we take per move/reps (even with masks on), 2) PROFESSIONAL & COMMUNICATIVE - With his keen observation skills, he's quick to correct posture or can tell if we've trained before (I say he's psychic), he also has the ability to tell how we carry our backpacks/or handbags and if they are heavy or not, he will know based on our posture if we are the type who have sedimentary jobs or not and advises on how to autocorrect form. I do value the fact as we work out, he tells us where we should be feeling the burn and why and which part of the body we are working. 3) FRIENDLY & WARM/INTERPERSONAL SKILLS - he doesn't intimidate and he can easily make quick connections to build rapport and trust so as we are working out, he empowers us with confidence we need to push ourselves. He intuitively knows our personal limit as to when we need to be pushed hard and when we need to slow it down. F45 PLAINVIEW 1) I've been to many gyms and worked out with many trainers, but i do enjoy the F45 concept, 45 minutes your in and your out with a sweat. This is a great concept for those individuals who lack discipline in a gym environment. 2) Days are scheduled based on what the functional exercises and which area of the body you will be working (core, upper, lower, cardio, etc). 3) The camaraderie you gain when you attend. I only attended 2 sessions and the members welcomed me with open arms and thumbs up support in a few of the exercises I failed at. We all have a common objective in mind and its just getting through the 45 minutes is where we bond at... then its a great feeling when you see them again the very next day. If i could choose to be a member at F45 Plainview, I definitely would. But i'll need to find another F45 (and a Coach Chando) in PNW area. THANK YOU F45 PLAINVIEW & COACH CHANDO! I made the plunge and joined Equinox a few weeks ago. After coming here for a few Yelp Events, and…read morebeing that it's close to home, it made my decision an easy one. Although pricey, it's worth it! Let's start off with the amazing customer service I've received. I had the pleasure of meeting Brett. He is a Membership Advisor. He messaged me to see how I was doing and if I had any questions. My very first day as a member he showed me around the the gym from top to bottom, corner to corner. He even offered to take a class with me if I didn't want to take one alone. He is super friendly and funny. He continues to say hello to me BY NAME every time he sees me at the gym. That's amazing that he remembers my name considering how many people he sees and interacts with at the gym every day. Now Christopher (I believe that's his name) works at the shop at the gym where there's clothes, gym bags, and other accessories. When you become a member you get 20% off your first purchase at the shop. So...I took advantage of that! Christopher was patient with me as I looked around the shop. So many choices! Some of their brands run big...so I was happy that I was able to buy a smaller size than I normally would. Christoper helped me pick out some things and even showed me a super comfy sweatshirt. It's a men's sweatshirt...but it's the most comfortable sweatshirt I've ever worn. Comfy and warm! Brian, the manger is also super nice! I had a long conversation with him on my first day at the gym. It was so nice that he took the time out of his day to speak with me. He also greets me by name every time he sees me at the gym. As a new member you get a complimentary Pilates session. I took mine with Jacqueline. The Pilates session is in the studio and it's just you and the trainer. Jacqueline was very patient with me as I've never done Pilates before. She showed me how to use the machines. She also taught me that Pilates isn't just body movements...but it's about your mind as well. Which is very true. We even laughed! Who laughs when working out? That's what I thought. You also get a complimentary personal training session as a new member. I had the pleasure of meeting Tracy. She is wonderful! She understood me and my goals. She was patient and answered my questions. We also laughed a little. Again, who laughs when on an 10% incline and 3.5 speed on a treadmill?? That's what I thought! I felt so welcomed as a new member! Besides the "Welcome" email and "Welcome Packet" I received, I received a hand written welcome card in the mail, and another welcome card in the mail. I can truly tell the Equinox cares about their members. On to the gym... SO many machines for cardio and strength training! I've never had to wait for a machine. One of the things I like about the machines is that they have internet. I've enjoyed watching YouTube videos to get me through my workouts. You can even access Facebook, Google...and a ton of other things. You can sync LoseIt and other apps if you use apps to calorie count or to keep track of your food intake. There's also WiFi at the gym...so you can bring your iPad or other device and watch Netflix as you work out! I am guilty of this! :o) If you aren't sure how to use a strength training machine, don't be scared. During my tour of the gym, Brett mentioned there is always staff on the floor that will show you how to use them! Don't be shy...ask them! Locker rooms... I can't speak for the men's locker room, but the woman's locker room as everything you can think of. Hair dryers, straighteners, razors, tampons, mouth wash, hair gel, shaving cream, shower caps...etc. There's also a filtered water filling station and a digital scale. Everything you can ask for! Now the showers are wonderful. Kiehl's shower products are like a dream. They smell so yummy, and have me feeling refreshed. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and face wash. The showers are nice and hot! AND... eucalyptus towels!!! Smell so nice, especially after a sweaty workout! What are you waiting for?? GO workout at Equinox!

Machines are old, otherwise the gym is very clean and the people are very nice and helpfulread more

We went at about 4pm and it wasn't as packed as I anticipated, based on my experiences at other local gyms. The space is made up of two large floors- the first floor houses most, if not all of their machines and in basement lives all the free weights. All the fellow gym goers followed proper cool-gym etiquette and seemed very chill (asking if your using nearby equipment, smiling and nodding, throwing in the occasional funny banter, etc). While a lot of the equipment seems a tad outdated, they still get the job done. In fact, I kind of dig the old school vibe this place has. While I have a membership at a gym only about a 10 minute drive away, I'll definitely be joining her here for an awesome super local gym experience. It's great to have a workout partner again and

This is a very shady and deceptive practice to make money although to give the appearance as if you are getting a deal. If you have the ability to, choose another gym that will actually make it worth your while. I wish I would have known that there is literally nothing in there aside form the machines, which are often not functioning as they should, and they charge more than the gyms that have saunas, pools, etc... With that being said, I gave an additional 2 stars solely for the people and trainers that work there. They are great and very helpful. But the gym itself leaves a lot to be desired especially at the price with the additional fees they charge.
