We recently visited Riverside Encore for the first time, and wow--what an experience. The campground is beautifully maintained, offers a wide variety of activities, and the residents are incredibly welcoming. Nancy, the activities director, was exceptionally friendly, patient, and helpful. She truly made our visit one of the best stays we've had at any resort. Second time staying here and certainly won't be the last! This is our go to RV resort when we visit Arcadia Florida to go to the rodeo! The rodeos are in March and October and it makes an awesome vacation to take your RV! We love to eat at Azul's Tequila Mexican restaurant in Arcadia, truly the best Mexican food ever! The sites are huge at this RV park and the people are super super nice! They offer power/water and cable! Very safe and quite and easy to find! read more

We spent our longest excursion yet in our new travel trailer at Riverside RV. It was great. The staff is very friendly and the other guests reminded us why RVing folks are the best. Recommend bringing fishing tackle and frozen shrimp. We had so much fun. The stuffed animal in the tree was creepy. Also, I recommend bringing a bike. The park is built for it. We saw wildlife including a pack of hogs, raccoons and various bird species. What a difference a stay during a holiday makes. It got crowded. But, afterwards, it was a ghost town. We wanted a quick weekend getaway from Naples and this place was perfect! The resort is clean and well maintained. Our kids loved the pools and also the fishing piers were super nice. The camp store had some essential items and the staff inside were super friendly. Our lab loved the dog parks and there are plenty of doggie waste stations around that had bags and garbage cans. We would definitely come up here again. I'm sure it's packed in the winter, but it looks like they have something for all ages. read more

We stayed here for 10 days in June. Parks pretty and in June it was pretty much empty of people staying here. With that said there's only about 25 percent of the lots have availability. Most all the lots are taken with permanent RV's and fifth wheels. Loved being able to launch our kayaks at the dock in the park and go up river. The fishing docks where also really nice. The sites here where a nice size. We where in the newer part of the park so there wasn't much shade. Still I would totally stay here again. read more

Fancy shamancy! This was possibly the cleanest and nicest campground that I've ever been to. It was also one of the most expensive that I've ever been to. I would definitely say it's more of a RV resort. Most people had large RVs and had obviously been there awhile or were going to be staying awhile. There are several campgrounds in Arcadia, but I'm quite sure that this one is the closest to Port Charlotte. The others were twenty minutes and more from this campground. We were lucky enough to get one of the last spots available, but were told that it was only available for a certain amount of days and then the park would be completely booked for months. My dad asked me not to share his secret, now favorite RV park, but I must. It's an Encore campground, which I'm not sure what exactly that means, I seen several campgrounds in this area of Florida that had the Encore flags displayed. This one also accepted the Good Sam discount for the nightly rate. They also offer discounted weekly, monthly, and even up to six month spots. We were told that you can't be picky about the spot, if you want to stay for months at a time. Honestly, there really isn't a bad spot, other than near the main road. The noise of the road could be heard from the spots that back up to that road. We were lucky enough to score a spot near the Peace River. There were three different patio or fishing docks in that loop. There were canoe boats that you can rent and I seen one boat go by. There was also a fenced in dog park area, near the Peace River area. In the dog park, there was a dog bathing and grooming area. Speaking of dogs, there were a ton of grassy areas that included the waste bags and trash areas, specific for dog waste only. Doris checked us in at the gift shop area and didn't mention any of the activities, but later my dad found out that on certain days they have bingo, activities and even a farmer's market. A few other amenities to mention, are the pool, hot tub, tranquil fountains and laundry areas. Most of the people in this area of Florida are senior citizens. I was there in January and never seen any kids, I'm not sure if that's different in the summer, but I'd definitely say it's nothing like a college spring break or family vacation area. read more

I can't begin to tell you how wonderful the staff, all the way around, is the most hospitable, kind, helpful and accommodating I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with! Sue, Karen and Dianna were especially helpful. Riverside RV Resort is amazing! Clean and well laid out for privacy and enjoyment. Unfortunately, while I was here the corona virus hit.... everyone was so respectful of social distancing and kind and helpful during a trying time. The snowbirds are an amazing group of people in this park! Thousand trails membership afforded me the luxury of this wonderful park. I cannot believe no one has written a review of this place. It must be the best kept seceret in Port Charlotte...actually its far enough east that it is in the next county but I'm sure everyone thinks in terms of Port Charlotte. Enough already. This is a very good campground and I wouldnot consider staying anywhere else when in the Port charlotte area. Great campsites very friendly staff pretty good internet but you have to pay extra for it. (I hate that). they are right in the river with a boat ramp. Only 5 minutes away from town and pretty quiet most of the time. They have a loyal group of campers tha tcvome out for most of the holidays. If you like a wholesome party on just about any holiday this is the place to go. I was there in May and people were booking for halloween. Great place for kids. Great showers. I don't say that very often. I would recommend this place. read more

Very nice place. Very large but not overwhelming and the staff obviously can handle the load. The office staff is friendly and helpful and the maintenance staff the same. After reserving a spot at another Encore resort and finding it totally unsuitable I was worried until we got here. They took us in as a transfer from the other place and treated us like we were their best customers. Whenever we come to this area I will definitely try to get reservations here first. read more

Not so friendly since Encore took over. They use to have trick or treating for the kids every year at Halloween....not anymore. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I'm not staying in a campground that isn't family friendly. That was always a big hit. Not cool riverside....not cool! read more

We love this park! It boasts beautiful ponds, spacious sites, and friendly staff and patrons. There are plenty of activities for all ages or you can enjoy the quiet of sitting on the dock while fishing or watching wildlife. There are resident gators to be aware of in the Peace River in the cove so just be aware if you're in that area. There are two pools of good size as well as a hot tub for relaxation. We camp a lot and this is our go-to park. Thanks Encore! read more

Worst customer service i have ever experienced. Made a reservation in October for the Thanksgiving week. 7 days! before my arrival they told me that they had to move me to a totally different campground area because a 'snowbird' arrived earlier than expected!!?? I had a written confirmation but they don't care about that. This is customer service at its worst. I do not want to do any business with people this behaviour so I had to cancel immediately and try to find another spot - even getting a refund of the deposit seems to be a problem. They will never see me again. If you get a written confirmation from them: Throw it into the dumpster because it is worthless!! read more

Great RV park for active seniors. It is a destination location for many returning snowbirds who have been coming for years. It is strong on camper-run activities and the camaraderie and fellowship is outstanding. The only drawbacks are a very small swimming pool and terrible wi-fi service. This place, though excellent, is not inexpensive, and adequate wi-fi coverage should be provided. read more

We have driven past Riverside RV Resort for years and wondered what it was all about. Well, after recently retiring and purchasing a very large fifth wheel toy hauler we decided to check into Riverside. We contacted them by phone and made a reservation for a pull through slip as I am not very skilled yet at backing our behemoth trailer. The reservation process was very easy and the receptionist was very friendly. We set the reservation for a one night stay as sort of a shake down trip for the RV and a short stay, if the place was not what we expected. While driving to their location I got the idea, from looking at Riversides site map that I would bite the bullet and get a back in slip near one of the ponds or near the Peace River which runs along the east border of the resort. Upon our arrival I parked my rig in front of the office and went inside. After joking about our humongous trailer I broke the news that I wished to change my reservation. Without batting an eye the receptionist clicked her computer keys and said, "not a problem!" I explained that I was still nervous about backing in. She again clicked away at her computer and said I could have slip #222 and explains that it would be easy to back into because of the angle and that she would have one of the employees give me some "TLC" and help with backing. That was Awesome. I paid, then shortly the helper arrived on a golf cart and guided us right to our slip. He helped with backing (still need a lot of practice) and Voilà we were set. The site included a picnic table, concrete patio, 50 amp electric, water (with lots of pressure) and sewer (which was hidden under a bush and I almost couldn't find it, but it was perfectly functional). Our neighbors were wonderful people and very patient with us neophytes. After settling in we explored the facilities and found the pool, bath and laundry houses and pavilion to be exceptional. The general store was very handy with some very reasonable prices. No gouging at all. There were lots of RV accessories for emergencies and forgetful noobs. Well, suffice it to say, we will be staying there again and again and for longer periods of time! I would definitely recommend this resort to everyone. read more
