The kids love visiting the animals--a donkey, a tortoise, and a goat--and there's also a playground for them to enjoy. The campground also features a really nice swimming pool and swimming area. Peace River Campground offers convenient amenities as well, including laundry facilities and clean bathrooms with showers. Overall, it has a laid-back, low-key atmosphere where you can truly relax while still having plenty of fun. We try to camp here at least once a year, and we especially love spending time here during the holidays.

As always, the river water was refreshingly cold. Everyone around us was super friendly, and the kids had a blast! It was a great opportunity to disconnect from technology and enjoy nature. We've camped here several times before and always had a great experience. This was one of the friendliest private RV Parks we have ever been to. There is also a small shaded dog park down by the boat launch area for our fur babies to enjoy. We met so many friendly people here who made us feel like forever friends from day one! Before you go to CRP, make sure you call and plan out your activity ahead. Some trials may not be available in the raining season. Check your mountain bike to ensure they are in excellent working condition as there is an advanced or more difficult biking trials. No dogs or alcohol are allowed in the park! This historic 9000-acre park opened in 1931. It's considered an old growth forest and full of bald…read morecypress trees. There are a wide variety of endemic wildlife and plants. The main feature of this wonderful park was the boardwalk that goes through the swamp forest. Some really old trees that are possibly 1000 years old, is located in this park. There are nine trails, a campground, a playground, and a picnic area. There's a 3-mile loop trail for biking and driving. Also, a museum and concession built by the Civilian Conservation Corps; they constructed many buildings, bridges, and blazed trails in Florida State Parks. We were staying nearby and decided to explore this park. I enjoyed the historic land and old trees. The boardwalk was pleasant to stroll on; I saw quite a few memorial plaques. Generations of people walking on the same paths decades ago. It's a peaceful place and I'm glad they didn't turn it into farmland back in the 1930s.
