My family and I have stayed here 4 different times thinking it would be better each time. Saldy, it has gotten worse.Once you arrive, you have to check in the front, where the stuff isn't so friendly. The guys with the red shirts on the golf carts are the WORST!! My stepson was heading back to our campsite from the restroom right at dusk when he was stopped but the other riders on the ATVs continued to ride around. They need to enforce the rules to all not just pick and choose. The ATV riders have zero respect for the speed limit or quiet hours. There were vehicles full of teenagers blasting obcene music at all hours of the night. The worst part was the drunk drivers driving side by side on the trails at high speed. We camped in the wilderness area which is somewhat disconnected from the main RV site. The roads that lead to the wilderness camping area are very soft sand where someone can easily get stuck if don't have off road tires. Also, there's no bathrooms or showers in there, only some porter johns so you'll have to drive out to use the RV showers. If you are looking for a peaceful place to go to relax with family, don't come here.

Beautiful camp sites, very nice grounds. Know going in here this is also a ATV park as well so your sharing the back roads to those and yes they are loud especially with music. That being said it's still a really cool and fun vibe .. People were respectful I think at 9ish they pretty much were done with the wilderness rides. Let kids be kids it's good clean fun for family dogs and kids.. pick a secluded spot by the water and you'll be just fine. No need to worry about safety!

    Primitive site by the river

I've been coming to Peace River for the past two years and although I love the location I'm only giving it three stars for a few reasons which I will mention later. First, the good stuff. The scenery is beautiful. Primitive camping is right on the river. You drive around till you find a spot you love and you claim it. Get there early morning Friday if you want a prime spot because they go quickly. They are dog and four wheeler/golf cart friendly and it's actually recommended for ease of getting around. The sand in the primitive area is soft so if you have anything other than 4 wheel drive you very well could get stuck. They have activities on the weekends. Bingo Saturday and Sunday night is always crowded and there was karaoke too. The snack bar is great when you are tired of cooking over the fire. They serve breakfast and lunch. The food is simple (pancakes, sausage and gravy, corn dogs, chicken fingers, etc.) but good. The town of Arcadia is great for a quick trip to antique shop or try one of the local restaurants. They also have all the regular fast food joints and grocery stores if you need something. Now for the bad: 1. The staff in the office can be rude and it's disorganized. I was buying a soda one night and was waiting behind someone buying firewood. There is a minimum $10 charge for cards so the person in front of me said she would go get a few other things. I stepped up to pay and the woman gave me a look and said "You have to wait. I have the register open." I'm pretty sure she could have cancelled the transaction and let me pay for my one soda but instead she made me wait for the other person to come back. Then she didn't say sorry for the wait or anything. Just looked at me, rang up my soda and handed me my change. They also had a huge line checking in Friday night since it was a long weekend. Several people, including us, were waiting in line to simply buy firewood or something from the store. Instead of having a check in line and a separate purchase line they had us wait all in one. The wait was seriously 20 minutes or longer when it could have been so much quicker. 2. The bathroom and shower facilities are old and usually dirty. Now I know we're camping but if you offer bathroom facilities at least have them clean and somewhat up to date. Cleaning them in the morning does nothing when people are tracking in dirt all throughout the day. They need to be mopped frequently or there is just a muddy, wet mess in there all the time. The bathrooms by the office probably haven't been updated in 20 years. The ones in the middle of the campground offer newer showers but the bathrooms are usually disgusting. All in all it's a fun, beautiful campground as long as you go into it knowing what to expect. If you're primitive camping it is truly primitive but always a good time for us.

Don't come here if you are afraid of spiders or rude, aggressive employees. So let's start off. I wanted to ride our dirt bike and thought about renting a canoe. Figured this place would be perfect. Read some reviews that weren't very nice, but tried it anyway. The lady up front was polite, and an older gentleman in the office was nice as well. $90 for one night, ouch. Especially after I spent $22 each night to stay in ocala national forest. Granted, I was able to plug our small camper in so saved a few bucks on fuel for the generator. No sites where you could run your generator, sad. So we went riding the Minibike and the trails were very sandy and hard to maneuver. My fat tire bile couldn't be used on the trails either. Its more for side by sides and 4 wheelers. I was told otherwise. You Can only rent 2 canoes at a time, but i only needed one. So That didn't happen. So my son was riding around near the campground on the only place he could ride. An employee surprised him by yelling and threatening to kick us out. Not once did the guy speak to him like a normal human being. He scared my son, poor kid came back shook up. He thought he may have to fight this grown man. All the guy had to do was tell him he wasn't allowed to ride on the grass. The guy lives in the campground on unit no 176 or 177. Ruined our afternoon, so we got out early. The bathrooms are disgusting. At least the mens was. There were at least 10 spiders , and I'm being conservative here. There could have been as many as 20. Didn't count. Got some good pictures too. The showers were gross as well. Mobs of rats were running around the chicken coop/ rabbit pen at night. We will never be back to this place.

Went tent camping for the first time this weekend. We had so much fun! We spent most of our time looking for shark teeth in the river and found quite a few!

My review is based on the rv lots. I never got a chance to even see the primitive sites. It's sad because I have heard such good things about this place! We didn't stay, and ended up leaving. Sites are dirt, no privacy, and we didn't feel safe. If you have small kids you can't have them walk around because they will get run over by a ATV. The person next to our camp site looks like they lived on the site. Not a family friendly site. They should change the name from peace river to loud river! If you have a ATV and smoke Marlboro reds methyl then this is the RV site for you.

Across the very muddy road from our campsite.

UPDATE: Initially I gave 3 stars to this place, but I am downgrading to 2. We came back up our campsite after a day trip yesterday to find that the park had been overrun by ATVs flying confederate and Trump flags and racing all the back paths at top speed. This really should be marketed as an ATV park with camping, not the other way around. We bailed out a day early because it was SO loud at our site. The only thing keeping that second star is the beautiful view of the river. ORIGINAL: First time camping in 30 years, but decided on a whim to do it with adult kiddo. The campground looked great online, and it was centrally located to the areas we wanted to explore, with primitive sites right on the river. Amenities are fine, but it is PRIMITIVE. Community bathrooms and showers in the RV area of the camp are better than using a bush, but not by much. Nonetheless, I was willing to deal with that for some scenic getaway time. Now here is why I'm demoting to 3 stars: LOUD. Oh my goodness, people riding ATVs and golf carts all hours of the day and night, spinning through MY campsite, blaring music, kids yelling, etc. If you want quiet camping, this is NOT it. The roads got so torn up by these ATVs that my car couldn't even make it out one night. They really should specify that you need 4WD to navigate....we would have chosen the nearby state park! If you don't mind chaos, then you will be fine. If you want quiet and privacy, choose a different

We just hot back from our first camping trip to peace river campground. I read alot of reviews before we left for our 3 day weekend. I mist say we did not experience any rude employees, the bathrooms and showers were very clean! Our kids had a blast! Rented a golf cart along with our friends 4 wheeler, dirt bike and golf carts! We had an amazing time and are counting the days until we go back!! Our campsite was great, we had 2 tents and 3 rvs with picnic tables and a large brick patio!

I just got back from camping here. The camp grounds were pretty clean and the office staff was helpful. The biggest issue was the shower stalls. The 2x i took a shower it lacked water pressure and in the middle of my shower i lost water completely. For 15 bucks a night per person the water should be working

This place is amazing for families to come and enjoy them self, very beautiful, activities for all ages and very safe for families to really enjoy each other, hiking, jogging, swimming at the river or pool or just sitting together in a nice fire at nights.

Peace River Campground is a great camping facility, especially if you have an ATV. ATV friendly campgrounds are hard to come by. I visited toward the end of June. The campground was about 30-40% occupied. I was pleasantly impressed with the people on ATV's they were courteous and not obnoxiously riding around all hours of the night. I truly believe this had allot to do with the staff. Campground staff was constantly patrolling the area, at least three - six employees were visibly driving around the facility. Now about the facility itself; first of all it is located on the peace river and they have everything from river primitive camping sites to full hook up RV sites. My rate on 6/30/2013 was $52.00 per night. This was a full hook up site. (Beware you will pay extra if you have or plan to use an air conditioner). The campground is pretty strict on its rules. I had to rent two sites for a small 10 foot camper and a tent, so my total was $104.00 per night. The campground does have shade however you will need to call a few days prior to arrival if your tent camping and request a shady area. The really cool thing about this campground are the padded patio areas. Allot of the sites had a paved/stoned area, a majority of the sites had nice grass areas as well. The campground has a camp store with you basic essentials with an attached game room. The store is nothing fancy; your basic older model camp store with you older antiquated games and a few pool tables. Restroom & shower facilities are somewhat out dated. They have one area for all campers. The facility is individual cells, men/women private little stalls. The shower area is rather small. There was roughly 7 showers and toilets. Three of the toilets did not work during my visit and two of the showers were out of commission. Showering or using the ca mode during the day was like walking into a sauna! There is no AC and no ventilation. The pool area appeared clean, I personally did not use it just walked by a few times. For a June day it was not very busy. Overall I had a pleasant visit. My likes: 1. Park was clean 2. Camp sites were moderately spacious 3. Camp store was stocked with basics 4. Park security was out in force 5. Individual paved sitting areas My dislikes: 1. The value was low for price paid 2. Bathrooms were out dated 3. High number of permanent RV's in park.

Siesta Beach Experience…read more Overview: Siesta Beach is widely recognized as the number one beach in the United States. During our visit, we found the beach area to be exceptionally clean, featuring powdery white sand that added to the overall appeal of the location. The unique sand texture and well-maintained environment contributed significantly to our enjoyable experience. Parking and Arrival Tips: We parked near the Snack Bar and Gift Shop at the northern end of Siesta Beach. Although there is a substantial amount of parking available, the spaces tend to fill up quickly, especially during peak times. It is advisable to arrive early to secure a parking spot, as finding a vacant space can become challenging later in the day. Water Quality and Shoreline Experience: The water at Siesta Beach was exceptionally clear, offering excellent visibility. Near the shore, the depth was shallow, making it easy and comfortable to relax in the low points. The waves were gentle and calm, creating an inviting environment for lounging and wading. During our stroll along the beach, we discovered several shells, adding an enjoyable element to the shoreline experience. Beach Access and Amenities: Reaching the water requires a lengthy walk across the beach. To assist visitors, mats are placed at certain locations on the beach, making the walk easier and more comfortable. The Snack Bar offers a variety of food and drinks, providing convenient options for refreshments. Adjacent to the Snack Bar is a Gift Shop, which sells a range of beach-themed items and clothing, enhancing the Siesta Beach Experience. They do have a QR code they you can order food, drinks, beach chairs and some other items to be delivered to you behind the life guard stands on the Beach in case you forget your own, kind of cool, I think. Overall Impression and Rating: Based on my experience at Siesta Beach, I confidently rate it 5 out of 5 stars. The exceptional cleanliness, powdery white sand, clear water, and convenient amenities all contributed to an outstanding visit. After seeing firsthand why Siesta Beach holds the distinction of being the number one beach in the United States, I wholeheartedly agree with its reputation. Gulf Coast Terry

We drove around for about 20 minutes, looking for parking till we finally found a couple that was leaving. No matter what time you visit it's busy but the beach itself it's definitely worth it. !! A little warning it was a bit of a walk to get to the water. This is my favorite kid friendly beach. The water doesn't dip off like Venice and You can actually walk out comfortably with children. Another pro is that there's plenty of shower areas throughout the beach line. Ps: On Sundays they have a drum circle which is always a good time to see people drumming and dancing.
