9 months later -- I am consistently back with booking appointments at Encore Nails! Tiffany is truly lovely. She has so much patience and yet works so efficiently and beautifully. I went in for a refill but came 8 minutes late. She worked quickly due to having another appointment but her work still resulted in a beautiful set that do not look rushed nor did it feel like she was in a time crunch. I've been going to Encore for a little over a year. The salon is beautiful and clean. Overall, it has been consistently a good experience as far as my nails are concerned. Mery is my go to for my nails (not toes). She is excellent, talented, and she does a great job of listening, answering questions, and ensuring I get what I want. I'm pretty particular about my nails and she's always patient and friendly. If my review was based on just those things, it'd be a solid four stars. However, the owner, Ky... Incredibly rude and dismissive. Zero stars. I've experienced it before and witnessed it before, which is why I addressed it directly with him, when it happened again today. - He's done my nails before. It was my least favorite time I got my nails done at Encore. I asked him to fix a crooked nail. He responded that it wasn't crooked, seeming to be annoyed. I pointed it out, he disagreed again. I pointed out what I wanted fixed again, which he did, however, the vibe and energy was terrible. Especially when getting your nails done should be nothing but pamper and positivity. - I witnessed him being short and/or dismissive to other customers expressing their dislike for something or wanting something corrected. His tone of voice and body language consistently give the vibe that you're disrupting his life and you're an inconvenience. Even when just checking in at the front desk. - Note: Yesterday, had an appt at 3 (arrived on time), and he told me it'd be 10 min. (It would've been 25 had I not asked for someone else. ) -- Today, I came in to get another coat of polish on my toes as a walk-in and he told me it'd be 10 minutes. Based on yesterday, I inquired if there would be a better time to come back. Breathing heavy, he said no, I could just wait, that it'd be 10-15 minutes. Me: - Well can I just make an appointment to come back? Still huffing, he said we don't make appointments for that and kept telling me to just wait. (The wait isn't the problem, it's how he's talking to and engaging with me.) -- 8 minute wait, get my extra polish. Shoutout to Simon, he did a great job! - I stopped at the front desk before leaving asked if there was anything I needed to do, he said no. Then I shared, what was meant to be constructive feedback, that as a customer I'd hope he'd watch his tone of voice. Explained the wait from yesterday was the reason for my other questions today, and that I felt he was dismissive. To which he rolled his eyes and said "Mery told me it'd be ten minutes yesterday". No apology. No accountability. Instead, you throw your employee under the bus. I tried to continue to share my experience, even complimenting his staff. He's visibly annoyed and sighing, but the phone rang and he took it as his out to end the conversation. I exited, came right back in to get his name specifically for this review. Had this been the first time I'd witnessed/experienced this behavior from him, this review wouldn't even be here, because I would've assumed it was just a bad day. I've recommended a number of people to this salon who have become regulars. And I will no longer do that simply because the first person they see and have to interact with doesn't seem to truly value how he talks to or impacts his customers' experiences. Extremely rude front staff who rolled her eyes at me after I expressed how much I did not like the work Selena did. They complained that the service I requested took too long and that she did not know how to do the design I requested so she did her best. None of this was communicated to me BEFORE I did the nails otherwise I wudnt have sat here for 2hrs to get the ugliest nails I've ever seen. I'm shocked they look this bad, normally Selena is very good artist and I thought she would pull through in the end. If you don't know how to do a complicated design, just admit that and then I could have chosen another style instead of paying for something I absolutely hate. Front desk staff also revoked my appointment to get this fixed because I pointed out her attitude with me. very unprofessional. Never coming back here. read more

Never been here before, but thought what the hell ‍ whoever did my nails he had a very blank look on his face the entire time won't even smile a little bit or say anything to me. I got a basic pedicure, red nails the swatch ended up being nothing like I chose a deeper red but at that point I just wanted to get out of there. He used a gel polish and I told him I didn't want gel so I don't know if that makes a difference when it goes onto your toes and you don't put the finishing steps it goes on very matte. The pedicure ended up chipping after a week and a half. I get pedicures every few months and it's been a really long time since I've had it chip so fast......whatever won't be going back. read more

First and last time coming here! I normally drive all the way from Antioch to Brentwood for Athenian, but since it was my birthday weekend and I was short on time, I decided to try this place instead. I regret it. From the moment I walked in, things felt off. I asked for a pedicure, saw the price list on the counter, and before I could even look it over (as a first-time customer), the person at the desk just told me to sit down. That was my first red flag. When I was finally called to the back, the water was ice cold. I had to tell the tech to heat it up. She then rushed through my pedicure, skipping my cuticles and the outsides of my toes. When I asked if she was finished, she told me she does those "last" -- which I've never heard of before. It was sloppy from start to finish. Two days later, I called to address the issue and was told nothing could be done over the phone, I had to come in. So I went back four days later and spoke to the manager, Tam. Instead of listening or offering a solution, he immediately got defensive. He said I gave the wrong date of service (even though they have a system to look me up) and that I waited "too long" to come back. He didn't offer to fix the polish or even redo the basics, like cleaning up the dead skin that wasn't done properly the first time. To make matters worse, he told me they checked the cameras and could "see the work was done." That completely missed the point -- my issue wasn't that it wasn't done, it was that it was rushed and poorly done. When I reminded him that I had spoken up during the service but the salon was full (so they couldn't have fixed it then anyway), he brushed it off. His whole attitude screamed that customer service was not a priority. I even had proof: I arrived at 3:37, took a photo of their menu at 3:40, and sent it to a friend who referred me there. When I asked Tam what time my feet actually went into the water, he had no answer. Bottom line: the pedicure was rushed, the results were sloppy, and the manager was dismissive instead of helpful. On top of that, the lack of accountability and professionalism was shocking. Customer service is everything in this type of business, and they completely missed the mark. I felt taken advantage of to be totally honest. I'm pregnant and I'm having a baby shower and I really just wanted for my toes to look presentable. To be transparent, I usually do my own nails these days because getting your nails done can be pricey but I'm so pregnant that I can't breathe if I try to paint my toes so I went and very specifically asked before proceeding with the service "I want the most basic, no gel, no massage, just basic pedi with one color" the guy barely spoke English so I tried to make sure the price was accurate which was $20. So thinking he understood, after I was done. I was being asked $58 and I was passed down to 3 people and at this point it's embarrassing because clients were looking at me. I told them that I asked for basic pedi and they said "Oh sorry but it's done now so you have to pay" well duh I know I have to pay I was just not going to walk out without paying. I at least have integrity to pay even if it's not the service I asked for. English is also my second language so I'm very understanding when it comes to this part but running a business with no one that I can communicate to in English just affects the clients experience specially when it involves money. I'm not someone that likes to make a scene, so I was forced to pay even if I couldn't afford it. By the way, if I knew at the moment that I was being charged "premium" I would've told the nail tech to be detailed because my toes were barely done. Never coming back again! read more

I bought my 13 year old daughter in to get her nails and toes done for her dance and the customer service was extremely rude! I assume the manager called herself trying to be smart because I asked her a simple which was how much does everything cost together. I had already asked that very question before we sat down which was never answered. I most definitely will not be back. First and last time for sure! read more
