This is our third year staying at this resort and things have changed for the better. While it is certainly an older resort, everything seems to be kept much cleaner. Just a few examples: Bushes are trimmed, empty sites look good and trash bins aren't overflowing. We love the large concrete space to relax in the fresh winter air. Bonus for me is the wafts of gardenia from bushes at every site. We also enjoyed the Mardi Grad themed party that included a small dinner, raffle prizes and entertainment. We look forward to staying here again and enjoy all the wonderful things Mesa and surrounding areas have to offer: hiking, kayaking, variety of dining choices, theatre, shopping, bike riding and more. Super nice people working. Great amenities and and clean. It's definitely for older people not families. We were a family of one kid and it is was fine and everyone we met was nice to my son, but if your planning on being a loud family or staying at the camp alot I would try another place. We were playing baseball and watching baseball games so we were not there much. Definitely not very dog friendly as far as dogs cant go places. You can walk on the road and little dirt dog parks like 3 or them, but there is no dogs signs all over the place. read more

Never will stay here again. The annual residence are very rude and don't want outsiders here don't make you feel welcome Don't like you walking around with your dog even though dog parks are small and usually have a unfriendly dog in them. Weeds every where they don't do any maintenance around here. When my dog stopped to pee on the sidewalk the residence asked how would I like it if I came down and peed by your 5th wheel. Not sure why some people don't like it here but I just spent 21 days and the only complaint I have is that I had to wait 30 minutes for an escort to my site. The pools are warm and spas are hot, the showers and bathrooms are also good. The water went out one day due to a broken pipe but it was fixed in a few hours. The park model residents were friendly and only got one nasty look from a maintenance guy after my dog peed on a tree just outside one of the dog parks. I didn't see any scorpions or rattlesnakes and it's warm enough for both. No power fluctuations but they only have 50 amp pedestals so you need an adapter if you don't have a 50 amp rig. I gave a 4 star due to the pool and spas closing at 11pm while every other Encore park I have been to in AZ is open 24/7. read more

Lived in AZ my entire life. Have never seen a scorpion. This guy hitched a ride on my pajama bottoms and was in our RV! . I was outside sitting in our lawn chairs and never felt this thing on me. My husband smacked it off my pajamas and killed it. I went out with a blacklight the following evening and must have seen 20-30 of these things.We packed up and left. read more

Not sure where to begin. Every part of it was bad. We pulled in to have a gentleman take us to our RV space in the middle of Park models. Showed us the power supply and left. These areas were so small yet there was an entirely different area with nothing but RVs and well over 50 open spaces that could handled a rig that's 45 feet like ours. It took us 30 minutes to get in this little hole. even the owners of the park models on all sides said they always do this and they don't understand why. There's so many spaces that can accommodate our rigs. Why would they put a large rig in a small spot allowing for hazard. I then went to the front desk the next morning to make sure they got my AAA/Sam's discount. Because my daughter and my husband were on the reservation, they assured me I would get the credit the next day after my husband and daughter finished filling out paperwork. Once registration paperwork was finished, then said it's too late you're not getting your credits because the spot is already paid for. The first time I went in there I overheard the conversation in front of me and the poor treatment they treated this lady. I thought for sure she had it coming. only until I was the next one up and they treated me like garbage and zero customer service skills the way they talk down to me. They challenged everything I said. The friendlier I got the worst they were. The trash is on the opposite end of the resort, where you have to drive to each day to dispose of. Concrete next to our space was in crumbles. When my daughter booked reservations they asked the age and how many people. She has three children and listed that in advance. When she showed up, she was told she would have to leave as children were not welcome. They should've caught this in the reservation information weeks in advance.. Then they proceeded to tell her they will let us stay for the weekend, but after that, we will not be welcomed back. These are "their exact words. Customer service!! What a slum. Weeds everywhere. Maintenance is poor. Staff goes flying around parkbin golf carts as fast as they can go. Speed limit is 10MPH if you complain nothing is done. Alot of empty spots. We have been coming here for a few years but probably not again. Streets have concrete heaving along with concrete in lots breaking up. What a trip hazard. Staff parks rigs in spaces to small. 1 5th wheel was parked hanging over sidewalk and someone cut their head open on it. They have to fill pool up 3x per day. So old won't hold water all 3 of them. Hot tub hardly warm let alone hot. Concrete cracking around pools trio hazard along with tiles cracking and mold along edges. Heaters in pools not working numerous times takes weeks to repair. Dog parks stink and have no gravel in them just dirt. Lots of park models for sale and empty RV spaces. Trashed piked high in dumpster area and that stinks too. Streets have pot holes so beware when riding bike. Laundry room old and stinks. All we do is pay rent and no money is put in park. Homeless sleeping on benches. I can go on and on but I think you get the idea. read more

The park had significantly declined in recent years. It is disappointing to find pools closed or un heated while the cost continues to outpace similar parks in the area. Recently after multiple calls to get a refund for an over billing issue the management promised that a refund check was cut June 30th. August 7th and the check has not been received read more

I stayed here for business. No one here during summer, but I was placed next to a fulltime resident, nothing against them, shoe-horned way in the back of the park (got lost without the map). This wasn't the worst part. I left early one morning only to return that evening to find trash from the trailer that had been demolished behind me. My trailer was covered with dirt and dust! From my observations, this was the only one in this humongous park. Why would you purposely park me there when you know you are going to demolish another unit close by. Again, lots of empty spaces, no one around! Thank you for the space, other than that, I can't think of a reason to stay here in the off-season! read more

We love this park! Super friendly staff. Lots of scheduled activities. Close to Apache Junction and Phoenix Zoo. Excellent cell signals. We have stayed here 3 times now. The last time, they took us in without a reservation when Monte Vista told us to get lost and canceled our reservation (on the day we showed up because our rig was "too short"). read more

NO PROPANE!!! RV'ers beware. Mesa Spirit prohibits propane being put into your motorhome while parked in the resort. You must disconnect and drive off of the resort to fill your tank. Their website doesn't tell you this. All they say in rules in "no propane sales on site", propane bottles are delivered for external use customers but no filling your class A-C rig. The management was not helpful or understanding. We requestEd a refund of unused days and received a flat no. the resort is aging and their definition of deluxe sites is questionable. We were disappointed when we arrived but figured we'd make it work. However, the propane issue is the final straw in an otherwise disappointing stay. read more

We are staying here for a month until our apartment comes available. I was impressed with the customer service here. We had a site reserved for a month, but the apartment notified us we had to wait another week. When we asked for another week they were ok with that. They have activities and social clubs here. There is a nice café in the clubhouse. They helped us hook up our RV. The park is well maintained and clean. There is free cable and WiFi. It is difficult to find your way around as the streets are not well marked. This is a nice place to stay. I'm glad we found it. read more

If you are staying with pets bring your noise cancelling headphones. Terrible! They park you in the back along a low wall and the noise is terrible all night long! People next to us said they can't watch their TV outside. The wifi also no good I couldnt use my printer and the tv channels we only got 3 very frustrating to say the least. We should not have had to pay over 60.00 a night here and they should not charge if you have to be parked on back side and get no sleep hearing the loud vehicles all day and night. We only stayed a couple nights long enough. read more

Very nice park, clean and well kept. Mostly a redidence park with spots for short time stays. The pool we used was clean and very well maintained. Work out room at the pool was a bonus. Probably the only downside about this park is where a short timer gets put. I would suggest they centralize an area for overnighters or short timers. The rig behind us I believe was not being used, but all the junk left out along with all the bay doors opened and flapping in the wind was a little disconcerting. Since we belong with Thousand Trails, and this is an Encore park we chose to stay here. I will stay here the next time we go through this way without hesitation. read more

We stayed here for 1 night while in the Phoenix area. We have absolutely no complaints whatsoever. The staff were friendly and check in was quick. They actually assist you with backing in your RV which is really nice. They have a ton of amenities and there always seems to be some kind of event going on. We didn't get to participate because we were there for such a short period, but we would definitely come back here when we have a little more time. read more

This rv park is very worn down. Swimming pool decks are heaving and cracking, three out of 5 hot tubs have next to no jets, one hot tub completely broken down and out of commission for weeks being repaired. Only one good hot tub. Several Canadian friends were informed by Americans that they weren't wanted there and that there should be a wall at our common border. Very disheartening to say the least. This is not a Pickleball resort with only 4 courts. Don't try to play with the advanced players if you aren't up to their level. They are very vocal about not wanting you. We were lucky to have met some very nice American and Canadian people though. Residents are not too pleased to share facilities with some other people that they call campers. Almost half the washer and dryers are out of order. Stayed here for a month in 2018 and 19 but will not be returning. read more

Very nice place for the money HOWEVER,needs many improvements such as washers/dryers are old and dont work alot of the time, needs new ones instead of bandaining them. Hot tub has been out of servuce for many months with no fix in sight. Many excuses as to why not fixed, contractors dont show, parts are ordered etc. Their responses vary, been given dates of repair never happens. Frustrating when having to do laundry outside the park and paying for ammenities we cant use. Thankfully have good friends that make it better. They do offer good entertainment read more

Stayed here 4 nites after readinb positive reviews. Place is huge and has tons of activities for snowbirds. We encountered many friendly folks. The rv site was large. Negativd feedback the wifi which they touted as free did not work. Other than that large jacuzzis and pools. Stayed here and toured Apache trail through Superstition Mtns to Roosevelt lake. Stopped at Bostons Lakeshore Grill and had Reuben sandwich on marble rye wheat. It was very good. RV resort was close to the Cubs Spring Training but tickets were sold out the times we wanted to go. We were in site B120 and we traveled with 2 dogs. We would stay here again. read more

Friendly staff and very clean facilities. We needed a place to stay one night in our RV and I'm glad we found this place. It was nice to find somewhere that took adults younger than 55! I can see that it is a party when the snowbirds are there but we stayed after they had all left. My kids loved the pool/hot tubs and the bathrooms were so nice and clean. My only complaint was the price but we are first time RV-ers and I'm solely basing this on the Cali/Oregon coast prices we paid. read more

We just stayed there this month and the customer service was horrible, especially Tim the escort. We were first told they couldn't find our reservations and didn't know if they had any sites available, what a joke, there were many empty sites. They blamed it on encore that they didn't know what was going on in the park. It's all about the dollar, we paid $90 to park in dirt and gravel. The first spot we were in was suppose to be pull through, couldn't even get in without unhooking the tow vehicle. This was our second and last stay! read more

NOTE: This is NOT a big rig friendly R V park. Maybe 30' RV's or trailers. The "one star" applies to BIG RIGS only. The resort has very narrow streets with very narrow pads and over 90% back in pads with very few pull throughs. We (40' RV) were assigned a 45' X 13' gravel pad (measured the pad) that prohibited us from extending our slide out because the neighbors car was parked correctly on his parking pad. Check out Google map / Google Earth before making a reservation. It appears the resort is old with narrow streets and small pads and has not been updated to handle big rigs. read more

This is an awesome RV park. Well lit, gated, and friendly well trained staff. Lots of activities, clean facilities, great pools & hot tubs. Don't like all the park models, starting to feel like a mobile home park instead of an RV park. Prices are high compared to the other parks we've stayed in, about twice the price. The location is great, close to Scottsdale, and lots of vacation things to do. read more

I only stayed here 3 days, off-season, but was very impressed. There are many amenities, and everything is kept scrupulously clean -- even in the off-season. The WiFi was a new system and worked well for me (older reviews seem to have problems with their older system). The greeters and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The neighbors were nice too. Every surface is paved -- there is no greenery on the ground, but this is Arizona and nothing green would survive anyway. There are many healthy palm trees and some featured plantings including native cacti to keep things looking alive and festive, so they get A for effort in this harsh environment. I drove past many other RV parks in this area, and Mesa Spirit seemed to be among the best-maintained from my quick visual survey (but I'm no expert). People with really, really big rigs need to understand that it's not easy to change infrastructure. RV trends change much faster than you can re-engineer water, sewer, electrical lines and move streets, losing valuable space in the process. I stayed in a 30' TT and was fine. read more

Very nice park. We stayed for 3 months and had a wonderful experience. Staff is professional, available and helpful. Parking spots are nice and easy in/out. Facilities maintained well and clean. Lots of activities, but we didn't indulge in those much. We picked this park because of their dog setup -- several dog runs available throughout the park. Our two dogs had a great time, made a lot of friends, big and small. They keep the dog parks clean and tidy. This park is convenient to grocery store (across the street), bakery (across the street) and several city dog parks. Lots of good restaurants nearby -- try Blue Adobe on Country Club, it rocks (New Mexico cuisine). We're going back next year. read more

I know Yelp is an unusual place to post a review for an RV park but since this place hasn't been reviewed here yet I thought I'd the first. I was so pleased with my stay I wanted to tell others about my experience. I visited Az for springs training and needed to to find an RV park centrally located to several of the baseball stadiums. Mesa spirit is located within 8mi of the 10/60 Frwy interchange and close to the 101 loop. It's very close to Camping World, grocery store and Kmart. I am not a full time RVer or snowbird so I am not familiar with these types of large scale RV resort parks but I am huge fan now. This is not a 55 and over park although it caters to many older adults. This park had many amenities the best of which in my opinion were the very clean and accessible restroom/showers. It has a 9 table billiard parlor, poker room, two huge pools, 4 hot tubs, 6 bbqs, bingo, dance hall, computer room, and lots more at the main club house. The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The guests and long terms residents were especially friendly and made me feel like one of the regulars. The RV site was clean and roomy. I am definitely planning on returning back next year for an even longer stay. read more
