Want to give this review because I am truly grateful that I found them!! Dr. Paray and Dr. Viet (spelling?) were simply amazing. I had two teeth pulled, bone graft and fillings. What is even better is that they have an amazing support team. My hygienist, Hayley was wonderful. She performed root scaling and laser therapy. Why anyone would want to do what she does is a mystery but she obviously loves to help people and she helped me with genuine sincerity. Miguel was super gently while taking my xrays and impressions. My mouth is super small, even the child size paraphernalia was too big and he had little tricks to make me feel comfortable. Let's not forget Katie and Jennifer, the women at the front desk!! They too, love what they do and their caring attitude made me feel at ease. They were completely helpful when it came to scheduling and explaining procedures and payment options. Yes, they have payment options!!! There's one fellow who's name I can't remember. He was the "salesman." In order to explain how great my experience was, I need to give back story to my day leading up to my visit. Prior to my visit at Encinitas Smiles I had gone to Western Dental to have a cyst removed from my lower lip. The experience I had at Western Dental was horrible. I had a 10 o'clock appointment, wasn't seen till 10:30, and didn't see the dentist till 12. No procedure happened, and I was sent home with a new appointment in the future. However, I was told by my father to give Encinitas Smiles a call. The friendly and welcoming staff listened to my concerns, and connected me with Dr. Lau over the phone within minutes. Dr. Lau immediately showed concern, and told me he would have no problem performing the procedure that day. After booking an appointment at 12:45 I was immediately seen and the whole procedure took 15 minutes. I was out the door with no cyst at 1pm! The work Dr. Lau did was great, and pain free. I would recommend everyone to give Encinitas Smiles a try, I'd be worth it. read more

Encinitas Smiles Dentistry is a wonderful office to take care of all your dental treatment. Dr. Lau and the office manager, Annie have such an amazing team. They get you in and out, effortlessly. Robert the assistant is always so polite and I always remember him when I come in for my visits. I've seen the periodontist, Dr. Viet as well and he is awesome and handle his patients with care. Dr. Lau is a thorough, effective, and efficient dentist. They offer high tech technology and screenings as well, very up to date. they even make crowns same day! They care about your health and they remember their patient's names and conversations we had 3-6 months ago. Very impressed by this office. People are more inclined to write a negative review when they're upset and don't understand their treatment plan. I had such a pleasant experience and want everyone to know that. Just got my teeth cleaned for the first time in 3 years. I was nervous to go to the dentist but I went anyways. I was really pleasantly surprised by Encinitas Smiles dentistry; it's a brand new office with clean and state of the art equipment. Even the rooms smelt fresh and new; this place did not remind me of the dentist when I was kid. They took there time with me answered all my questions stopped if I asked them to, repeated answers I was too dumb to understand, Dr. Parra was professional, smart, quick, and gentle. Best of all she was super nice and a fan of no pain felt. So after a quick few X-rays and mild numbing she cleaned my teeth and gums with a super new descaling tool that did the job extra fast. Im definitely coming back in the recommended 3 months to check in on my gum health. I'm leaving today very happy with how my teeth look and feel! Highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a regular dentist! Their staff make me feel welcome every time I visit. And their courtesy and professionalism is second to none. I appreciate the fact that they respect my time as I have never had to wait more than five minutes to begin a dental appointment. Dr. Lau is the BEST dentist I have ever had! His attention to detail and ability to explain what is happening with my teeth is uncanny. Other dentists have treated me like a child who could not possibly understand what is going on. Also, any time he has done dental work on me, he constantly elicits feedback from me with regard to whether I am feeling any pain and narrates what his next steps are so I am not surprised. I cannot recall any time I have ever felt pain from any procedure he has done for me. As long as Dr. Lau is at Encinitas Smiles, I will be coming here for all my future dental needs! read more

This office is AMAZING! They were very clean and so nice. I was seen quickly the x-rays are not my favorite thing but Miguel made it so quick that it was over before I knew it they use digital so less radiation :) and Dr. Parry was able to calm me down since I don't do too well with dental work. Apart from being treated so well I was happy they do same day crowns...so no temps falling off. The front office people Katie I believe was her name was really good in using my insurance so my cost was not full price. yay. I had a cleaning done and Soraya the hygienist was so nice and just talked with me and not chastise me or give me a speech that we've all heard. .. which made me feel calm and relaxed. Definitely one of the best cleanings I've had. I'm recommending my family here for sure. Great team and great service. read more

Perplexing and sad. I noticed an equal number of 5 reviews and 1 reviews with very little in between. When I began a few years back i would have rated them a 5, but when i left, it would have been a 1. Not because the dentistry went bad, but the business greed went out of control not only with repeated upselling, but with serious overcharging. One was a double whammy of a cheesy $100 fee for an unavoidable postponement - for a $5500 procedure which I later found I could have paid $2600 elsewhere. Wow. Making me feel bad for postponing my own rip off! Before that wore off, a month later a quote for a $3300 root canal (with insurance), which I got elsewhere for $1700 from a 5 star rated dentist - without insurance. Apparently, no shame. Do not go here. Initially I was impressed by reviews when I moved down. Then my first experience with dr Kent Lau was very good. This was about a year ago and I was very pleased primarily with not only the doctor but the reception: Shawna and John. Shawna was the manager and she also went over my dental arrangements. I came in on Tuesday November 20th 2018 and Shawna was gone. This initially was good because I hoped she moved to a higher position in the dental field. Dr Kent Lau was there and he was very kind but the office isn't the same. They tried to sell me on a high end crown. It seemed very fake. I no longer will be going to this office. The new people are very loud in pitch and the atmosphere saddens me. read more

Dr. Park is amazing, this dental practice is amazing, and this staff is awesome. I needed a lot of work, and like many people, am afraid of going to the dentist! Or......I used to be afraid of going to the dentist before Dr. Park became my dentist! He's extremely knowledgeable about his work and he makes you feel at ease and comfortable throughout every procedure He and his staff are unfailingly kind and considerate in any given circumstance.
