This is a fun place with a beautiful scene, friendly staff and most important of all. Good fresh food. We had the mead sampler. It was very good! ( might have had something to do with the fact that I haven't had alcohol in over a year). I had the chicken Capresse, chicken was perfectly done and very tasty. My wife had the egg plant lasagna, my friend had the hummus wrap. We finished it off with a triple chocolate desert. This was all well executed and very tasty. Great restaurant with an awesome atmosphere! A lot of options for different dietary needs. I've tried quite a few of the vegan/vegetarian options and most are great! I'd say the only thing maybe not worth it is the vegetarian fondue. The dessert course was great, but the "meat" course was honestly pretty bad. None of the options were great besides the ground beyond meat, but that and the tofu just completely fell apart when put in the fondue pot so it just didn't really work. After seeing this place on Facebook Ad, We were excited to try this place out. I booked a 5:15pm reservation for my daughter's birthday. We got there 15 minutes before our reservation and they accommodated us right away. The ambience and decor was unique and interesting. Well, thats about it for the good part. It was all downhill disaster from there. After 15 minutes sitting and putting in our order our appetizers came then after that we waited for 1hr 30 minutes for our orders to come. nobody even came to our table to explain why our food was taking so long...... before I was about to ask our server, our food came. I thought waiting for 1hr and 30 minutes that we would have an amazing meal but it turned out that the food was bland and tasteless. The steak was chewier than an old piece of gum. my 3 year old boy that loves steak didn't even like the food. Mind you we were all hungry coz we drove for an 1hr to get here just to get this kind of service.... Such a waste of gas! The price of the food was not even cheap $250 for the entire meal!!!! My daughter's birthday was a ruined....... In the end they offered us complimentary dessert, a tiny slice of cake. Our overall experience was sad and such a disappointment. read more

Really neat spot for a date night. There were great options for my spouse who eats meat and someone like me who doesn't. Even though we were happy with our order, there were a lot of other things in the menu we would definitely would have liked to try. My husband had originally picked something from the menu that the server said was not good so he changed it. Although we appreciate the heads up, maybe just remove it from the menu? I'm definitely willing to come back and try dining here again sometime if they improve, but I wasn't very happy with my meal. My mom and sister felt the same way about theirs. For $14 I expected the pizza to taste a lot better. Compared to some personal pizzas I've had at other restaurants it was really bad :( The dough did not taste fresh or house made and the pizza was lacking in flavor. It was mostly dough, with very little pesto sauce and cheese. My sister said her chicken tasted like it wasn't fresh either and it was really dry. My Mom said her crepes were tough and thick. Although the atmosphere was really pretty, the booth was so dark we had to pull our phones out to see the menus which was a bit awkward. There was a small lantern above our booth that continuously flickered on and off. Overall we just weren't happy with our experience. The fondue was good but it wasn't enough to make up for everything else. It was also $28 for a two people serving size portion... the food seems extremely over priced for the quality. *Edit in response to Kaitlyn: It is not an issue of the crust being too thick. I love thick and thin crust alike. It just doesn't taste good. Based off the reviews I'm not the only one that thinks this about the pizza dough. It's really obvious that it's pre-made and not fresh. Hidden Gem! The food is incredible! It's like home cooked gourmet! It's healthy, incredibly balanced flavors and not over cooked in too much oil or butter like so many restaurants. Here, you leave feeling great and longing to come back. I was visiting the area for a long weekend and came for dinner twice because it was so good. I had the chicken caprese and the portobello mushroom. Both were amazing! Not only is the food great but the service was wonderful, and the unique ambiance and great music super fun! Our flickering light that hanged overhead gave us all a headache. Could not read the menus because if the lighting. Lunch for 4 was over $100. I had extremely high hopes and was very excited to visit this place for the first time. I have never been so disappointed with a restaurant experience. I will say that I have been a restaurant manager for almost 10 years. I have never spat out food from a restaurant before. It was my husband and I's first time going here and we will not be back. We sat at the bar, nearest to the kitchen entrance. One of the staff informed us that bartender was late to their shift, but neither of the 2 servers in the restaurant offered us waters or something to drink in the meantime. There was a gentleman, who appeared to be the manager, who was the only employee working hard. However, no amount of hard work could possibly make up for the extremely poor food quality and overall dining experience. The food was outrageously overpriced for the quality we received. The mashed potatoes were bland and tasteless, not even salt was detected. The green beans were overcooked and mushy, the carrots were hard and undercooked. The salmon I received was grey on the underside and mushy. My husband took one bite of the salmon and spat it back out into the napkin. He ordered scallops and spat a piece out that was hard and showed it was not cleaned properly before cooking. The rest of the scallops were rubbery and overcooked. One of the cooks who was walking in and out of the kitchen, was wearing flip flops while working. This is an actual health code violation and a safety risk. We paid $120 for our meal, 18% tip included. We only tipped because we both have worked in the restaurant industry for a long time. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody. Edit: This is in response to the owners comment on this review. As stated in my review, I am currently working in the restaurant industry as a manager. Therefore, I am extremely aware of the staffing issues faced by the industry today. However, there were at least 4 kitchen staff members and 4 dining room staff members that I encountered last week on my visit. With a total of 5 tables seated in the restaurant over the course of an hour and a half, short staffing was not the root cause of the issues I experienced. The food quality itself was unacceptable, especially for the prices that the restaurant charges. Bland and tasteless food is not excusable by short staffing. I hope that this restaurant is able to succeed but the food itself needs to be greatly improved upon. We escaped to an OPEN nearby county to celebrate our anniversary last night. We had an amazing anniversary dinner in Placerville at The Enchanted Forest. The tables were apart in the right way and there were some see-through plastic pieces hung as dividers between some tables but other than that---there were few signs of Covid lockdown madness. There were no masks and it really felt like the world was back where it should be. Everything about it was amazing. The food was great! The mead was awesome. We had the best waiter ever (Ty) and the owner was there working hard, being kind and checking in with each table. She was the best owner experience we have ever had at a restaurant. They were training new staff but that was cool given the circumstances. The mead flight and the full fondue flight were both incredible. It was SO MUCH food. If you want to escape the restaurant lockdown in Sacramento County and have a great time---you gotta go to The Enchanted Forest in quaint downtown Placerville. We'll be back and this wonderful meal will always be remembered! read more

First Mother's Day out in years - Wanted this to be extra special for mom. Made reservations and first got a text about a set menu ($$), got sat at a table and was told that table doesn't do fondue, got sat by the live band (cool but very very loud), asked to be moved and Alex was EXCEPTIONAL! He went out of his way to get us set up with fondue and away from the band. Service was more than we hoped for! Four course fondue was great! Atmosphere inside and out was great! With being a newer business, dealing with covid, a big first holiday, I was worried at first that our expectations would fall short but our server was able to turn that around, and for that we are so very appreciative. Great, friendly staff. Ambience is pretty neat, our 4 and 8 year old granddaughters loved it. We all had the fondue which was okay. Green goddess salad was excellent, cheese course was okay as was the entree. Kids loved the dessert course. If you're expecting the Melting Pot, this isnt it. Arrived at 5:28pm for a 5:30 reservation for 6 people, including 4 small kids. Was promptly seated and that is where the promptness stopped. We sat until 5:45 without being acknowledged, so got up and asked a server for at least some menus, which was met with a response of they don't have any available at the moment. Five minutes later our server appeared and I shared my frustration with sitting for 20 minutes without being acknowledged and apologized took our order and said she would put our order in right away. She also brought us complimentary soup as the kids were complaining they were hungry. Another 30 minutes go by and nothing. Then she brought out the kid's fruit cups. Why would it ever take so long to bring some pre prepared fruit! Still waiting for the rest of the food the server brought out some more complimentary food, this time some Brie cheese. It would be another 30 minutes until food came, 1 hour and 20 minutes from when we first sat down. The food does not justify the prices. The kids meals are $25 for a small cup of fruit, a grilled cheese sandwich that is super basic bread with shredded cheese (no sides) or stick of chicken and then a small plate of items to dip in chocolate for dessert. We also ordered a green goddess salad which was tasty and a lobster dish that was $70 and nothing special, definitely not worth the price. We were hoping this would be a fun spot for our girls birthdays and we should have left as soon as we walked in and the kids were complaining about the musty (stale water) smell in restaurant. read more

First time here for my birthday dinner. Fondue was horrible and overpriced! Read menu carefully your chocolate , cheese, meat fondues all priced separate menu is deceptive. You get raw meat to boil in water so gross!! Cheese fondue would not melt so gross. When we complained they took off a glass of wine (big deal). It stinks inside too. We made reservation a day before Valentine day for the special day, Kaitlyn, the owner was so nice gave us a table at the time we liked to be there despite closed reservation , and then upon arrival under her direction they gave us their nicer table , so nice of her and her personnel and staff ,they re all great and like what they do , very friendly people are working there.. they made us feel very good .... Now allow me talk about the food , me and my wife ordered the Valentine day special , was 4 course dinner , very fresh salad , variety veggie fondue , great meat fondue , shrimp, fillet, chicken , meatball (mouth watering variety and fresh) and finished it with the desert fondue : sweets and fruits with melted darker chocolate dipping fondue .... Such a fun place Quirky and charming "enchanted" decor. Plants and fairy lights hanging from the ceiling. The best part is everyone who works there seems so happy, like they love working there and they love all their co-workers. I just went there for a drink (it's not a full bar though) and karaoke. Great service over the phone as we were navigating menu choices for take out. We had a veggie pizza with dairy-free (vegan) cheese. The cheese is homemade, melts well and very good.
