We stopped in after reading reviews and had a day planned at Henry Horton State Park. I ordered the waffle with bacon and hash browns. My mom ordered a western omelet with hash browns and toast. My waffle was cold and looked like it was cooked on a waffle maker that needed to be cleaned. There were black specks everywhere. These same specks were also on my bacon. The waffle was very soft and was cut in four with pieces that had fallen off when taken off the waffle maker. Unfortunately the hashbrowns were not edible. Perhaps if I had ketchup but I couldn't get past the strange taste. My mom's omelet was very cheesy-that's good but the meat was not cut in small pieces before being added to the omelet. She had the same potatoes and yeah still not good. Honestly we threw most of our meal away. Whomp whomp cuz we normally love small family businesses.

The offerings indicated someone who cooked using a bit of flair and looked like they knew how to enhance a dish with sauces. I selected the Rosemary Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas. Now these are not like any quesadilla I've had as a "appetizer" at many restaurants, this was a creative melding of intricate flavors into a quasi-soft shell taco/quesadilla. The grilled chicken had great flavor and the bacon and ranch really complemented the quesadilla. The tortilla was perfect, slightly crisp, and held the entire quesadilla together and didn't fall apart after the first bite. To top it all off...I got to meet the owners/operators Frankie and Tony Wong. This couple works hard, serve up great food, and are really fun to talk to. Highly recommend you like and subscribe to their FB Page. Their menu is a dry erase board and changes daily, I can't wait to see what special item they will create next. https://www.facebook.com/Myrootsfoodtruck

The TRIPLE LAYER TOMATO AND BASIL GRILLED CHEESE ON SOURDOUGH was delish! Soft, with a crunchy outside and surprisingly not too much bread. A good amount of cheese and flavor. I'd definitely recommend. CRINKLE CUT FRIES were over cooked. I'm sad to say I didn't even finish them, which is rare for me since this cut of fries is my absolute favorite! Just too crunch and the flavor was heavy on the oil, rather than potato. Total cost was $9 before tip, which made it one of the least expensive items on the truck. Customer service was professional. Food was made quickly and from order. Pretty good, IMO.

I got chicken, brown rice, and the seared cabbage with teriyaki sauce. All our food pros came with no sauce, and mine only have a small sliver of cabbage with a few small strips of carrots.
