Authentic. Reasonable. Friendly. Tasty. Large portions. Love this place! My only complaint is it's a little salty

Steamed grey sole was light, gingery. Salted fish and chicken dishes were tasty, not too salty for us. 2-3 dimsum carts were going around - S,M, or L, priced above $4 to $5.75. Small charge for hot tea per person. Were able to ask any staff for help when needed, no assigned waitstaff, which was ok bec. service was fast. Walking distance from Broadway/Queens Blvd so Elmhurst Ave stop on M, R train and a few bus lines. Restrooms available.

We came for dim sum and stayed for lunch. I loved that the rice rolls were made only if someone ordered them. My fav is the shrimp rice roll. The shrimp rice crepe wrapped me in its warm embrace while the fresh shrimp was almost crunchy, steamed just right. The chicken feet will always be one of my favorite dishes, they marinate it well and it's usually very flavorful. Our seafood chow fun was very well made, fresh rice noodle with shrimp, scallops, squid and other seafood cooked just right. The chefs here are spot on every time in taste, texture and the degree to which everything should be cooked to perfection. It's always a joy to feast here for celebrations, family dinners and everything in-between. Two thumbs up! Ocean Bay Seafood Restaurant is definitely a hidden gem and consistently brings amazing comfort food to all who crave an exciting foodie adventure.

Been either dining in or ordering take out ever since they opened the Rego Park location. Service is always friendly and amazing either dine in or take out. Take out is super easy. Order on line and you can even accumulate points for a future discount. They also deliver for free and its pricing is better than the online ordering services. We ordered 1lb each of the shrimp with head, snow crab legs and craw fish. We love the oceanic sauce but also ordered on garlic butter with old baby cause the little one loves it. You can also pick the level of spiciness. Only drawback is, seems like there's less sauce and the sauce is very watery compared to before and my kids love dipping the seafood back in the sauce and coating their rice in the sauce. We love the mango pina colada with a kick and the virgin option is always a treat for the 21 and under. They even sent an extra drink today since they made an extra by accident. Thank you!!!

The food has been consistently well-prepared and flavorful. Although the restaurant is small, they've always accommodated my large groups of 20-30 ppl. Great customer service! The ladies are always very friendly and efficient. Prices are reasonable and portions are large. Some standout dishes: -- West Lake Soup -- Peking Pork Chops -- Whole Roast Duck -- Salt & Pepper fried squid w.green chilies Note: entrees do not come with rice; $2/bowl. Plenty of metered street parking available right outside; or free street parking around the corner if you can find an available spot.

We had a few misses: The Eggplant and Salty Fish (2/5) the eggplant wasn't cooked long enough to achieve that desired soft texture, and the salty fish was overwhelmingly, salty. The Sweet and Sour Pork Chop (3/5) had potential, but each piece was sliced too thin and over fried, making the whole thing unnecessarily crispy instead of tender. The Fish Maw Soup (3/5) lacked the depth of flavor we were hoping for. Chicken fried rice (2.5/5): tasted like what you would expect, Americanized fried rice The Highlights: The Mayo Shrimp (3.5/5) was a better dish; we appreciated the nice crispiness, and it was an interesting take to serve the mayo on the side. The Snow Peas with Garlic (4/5) was perfectly executed, fresh and garlicky, a simple but standout veggie dish. FYI: cash only

Service is always spot on and personable here regardless if they are busy or not. Must orders here are the several varieties of fish, but for those who eat Americanized fish, they take the head and tail off but the fish fillets are not your perfectly squared of pieces. The fish is grilled to perfection and simply served with a side of either grilled veggie, yummy pilaf rice or French fries. The octopus stew is the most buttery and tender octopus you'll ever have and who can not forget their kabob selections whether you do the chicken or lamb! Stick with the mix grill plate for both though so you get to try a selection of them all. End the night with some hot Turkish black tea or string Turkish coffee with a sweet piece of baklavah or a digestive night cap of Raki mixed with a little water and you are good to go! Can't wait for my next dinner here!

Last night was no different and everything tasted fantastic. We started by eviscerating the delicious bread with all the dips from Mixed Appetizer Platter and Tarama Salad. We could have eaten a whole meal of just this stuff. Group favorites were the Eggplant and Tarama Salad. Then came the next round of appetizers. We ordered two Octopus Salad, which was a group favorite. Calf Liver was flavorful, while the Fried Calamari was super tender. Pan Fried Anchovies were good, but a bit fishy for some. For entrees, we got two whole fish, Bronzino and St. Peter's Fish. Both were grilled perfectly, tender and moist. Lastly, we had the Fried Red Mullet, which were crispy and flaky. As for dessert, we shared two orders of their awesome Knuefe. The texture of the phyllo dough is fried perfectly, and it wasn't over the top sweet, just the right amount. All in all, a fantastic meal with good friends that was delicious and relatively healthy. What more can you really ask for? Isn't this one of the biggest joys of life?

I haven't been to their other locations in the city, but this was really quite good. My recommendations are the El Gobernador, The Cracken, an aguachile (mango habanero is my fave) and the tuna toastada. The Ceviches are quite boring in my opinion, so go for an aguachile instead. DRinks are great, they have cantaritos and carajillos. What could go wrong if you've got both to choose from. Service is friendly and the ambiance is authentic mexican food plus air condiditoning. We'll be back.

Our server was extremely friendly and helpful, and she was happy to answer all of our questions about the menu. The fish was fresh, and the ceviche was solid, although there was no wow factor. The standout for me was the Molcajete Norteño, the fried octopus with guacamole, which was delicious. The most annoying part of the experience was when a kid came in and turned the music up extremely loud, then started singing a solo and going around asking everyone for tips afterward. We gave him $3 for his effort, but honestly, it was more loud and annoying than entertaining. I'm not even sure if he worked there or was just someone who came in off the street. Overall, the food was solid and the service was friendly, but I'm not exactly counting down the days until my next visit.

It helps that we speak the language that we got a little more comedic interaction with him! He was a hoot and was helpful in providing us advice on the # of dishes and what to get. I'd say everything is authentic to the Shanghainese cuisine so I'm a little biased that I loved every dish! A fish dish was suggested but we opted for our usual favorites: Scallion Pancake -made fresh as you can tell from the crunch Soup dumplings - super fresh, delicious inside, plenty of soup, perfect ratio of skin to meat Chow Fun - classic, look at the heaping amount of beef portioned on top!! Beef pepper steak - chunks were very tender and full of flavor Pork buns - a lovely crunch on the bottom of the bun, soft bread and tons of flavor Shrimp with broccoli - large pieces of shrimp (I didn't try it so I'm not sure on the taste)

Then the server Bill, started acting like a used car salesman. He said he would give us a sake cause it was his birthday, but didn't tell us we were going to get charged for it. Also before my brother got there, he said that since it was his birthday, he would bring out a "banana boat" which was just 5 scoops of ice cream and some cut up banana. When we got the bill he not only charged us for both, but that banana boat was $30! When we asked about it, he argued with us saying that he didn't tell us the price of every single thing that we bought... very rude. We also tried to order two orders of regular soup dumplings and two orders of the truffle. He kept rushing our order, and then tried to change our order to four orders of the truffle. We weren't sure if we would like it yet, and kept pushing back but he wouldn't take no for an answer (that being said the truffle was good, but I'm definitely a purist and preferred the regular soup dumplings). We also ordered the kau fu but it was not good, and tasted too much of five spice. The cha cha mien was fine, but a bit small and a little bland. The rice cakes were good, but the rice cakes were not al dente enough for me. We also got the fried rice, which was fine, but nothing to write home about. Finally we got a fried tofu dish which was good and had a lot of tofu in it. Overall, this server ruined our experience. The food is fine, but there are other Shanghainese restaurants in the area and would visit those over this place.
