I would order these again Grilled Street Corn C I'm from the midwest, so I know I am picky about my corn. I didn't like that it was on the cooler side, instead of pipping hot. The spices were OK. Taquerias have always been some of my favorite places to go, and Richmond is in no short supply of them. Next up on our list was En Su Boca. --Food: The food that I ordered that would go in my mouth was marinated grilled chicken, slow roasted carnitas, Yucatán pork pibil, and sloppy joe tacos. My dining partner in crime ordered two fried fish tacos and a chicken taco. We also got an order of endless chips and salsa. The chips were tasty and came with a huge selection of dipping salsas. My tacos were good, but if I'm being honest, not excellent. The flavors were there, but for some reason they were so moist that they formed a pool of liquid on the bottom of the plate, making all of tortillas a bit soggy. That was my biggest problem. Perhaps it was just the variety of flavors I got? Something else that pertains to me that I can appreciate is that their menu is clearly labeled with vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and gluten free options. --Cost: The tacos are 4 for $11, which really isn't too bad. It's a lot of food. --Atmosphere: Actual interior is a bit small, but has a hip vibe to it. --Service: Service was a touch on the slow side, but we went at a busy time, so it makes sense. --Overall: I enjoyed En Su Boca, but in terms of taquerias in the area, not my favorite. Boca Trio- 10/10 Bestest Margarita...not worth it. Get the house for half the price Fish tacos, soy chorizo and steak tacos were VERY good! The chicken tinga and the grilled chicken were alright. The carnitas are GREASY. Didn't like those at all. The tortillas were not great...they should be toasted/heated. That would also make them more pliable. Super cute environment! While visiting a friend in Richmond, I had the delight of getting to visit En Su Boca and it did not disappoint! We started out with the chips and salsa, and I'm not sure where they got the salt that they put on the chips but I'm pretty sure that it's part crack. I couldn't stop eating them, holy cow they were delicious. And then once you pair them with the different salsas? Oh my. Amazing. My personal favorite salsa was the tomatillo verde, it was just tangy enough to have a kick! The grilled habanero was a close second but it was a little too sweet for me so I stuck to the verde (might've hogged it a little bit too). Onto the tacos. I would say that the chicken tinga and slow roasted carnitas are what you would expect from a taco spot. They were enjoyable. I think the grilled chicken was a bit more enjoyable than those two. But lets take a moment to talk about the show stopper. I am fully aware that this is not an 'authentic taco' but holy cow. That southern fried fish taco was INCREDIBLE. I wish I just got 4 of those. The fish is lightly fried (amazing), the creama that drizzled on top of the taco is so complimentary that I want to buy a bottle of it and put it on everything I eat from here on out. As you can see, there was a clear taco winner here but I would definitely recommend trying this place out! There are so many taco spots in Richmond how do you even Pick definitely recommend this place although I agree with the other reviews that parking is really difficult and limited. Great place near The Diamond with awesome tacos! They have a great variety of meat/veggie options and it's very well seasoned. They're served in corn tortillas (which I love!) and are a little messy, but very worth it. Don't let the onions on top scare you. They aren't very potent and offer a nice subtle flavor despite how large they are. I'm sure you could ask for them to be left off your tacos if you wanted. The bowl of guacamole is awesome and there's lots of delicious cilantro on it. It goes very well with their house made chips. They have a couple salsa options that come with the chips, so guacamole isn't necessary, but who doesn't love a bowl of guacamole?!? Margarita options are a plenty, but not necessary. Getting the house one is just as tasty as the others and you save a couple bucks. We didn't order the burrito this time, but have had it previously and it's awesome and large enough for two people! The only thing that gives me pause about this place was our waitress. She was clearly unhappy with how busy it was (and maybe the fact that it had poured outside causing more people moved inside than expected), but she wasn't very personable and seemed inconvenienced by our presence. I'm surprised at the low rating and negative reviews! I love their nachos - to the point where I crave them every month or so. I add lettuce and sometimes sour cream to it for extra oomph. The rajas tacos taste great, sometimes they can be a little soggy but I usually just get one and can eat it before it gets to that point. Mexican corn is good, could use a little more sauce but it's a delight to eat straight from the cob. They just updated their menus (forgot to take a picture) but it's a great refresh. Also have a nice outdoor seating area. The reason I knocked off a star is because sometimes the tables are sticky and utensils have spots on them. I expect authentic Mexican food before coming here, I'm not from the area but the reviews looked promising-this is definitely not authentic Mexican food. It's a cute trendy some would say "hipster" place. It's really nice and clean inside. The host was very friendly and inviting. My waitress, I believe her name was Devan, per the recipient, I wouldn't know because she didn't introduce herself nor give us a real greeting- we got a straight "what can I get you". The whole time she seemed annoyed and like we were bothering her or she just didn't want to be there- which was very off putting and put a bad taste in my mouth. The food: the street corn was very good! I'd definitely go back for the corn! The beans were ok, but the rice was not good just had a canned tomato flavor to it. The carne asada tacos were the better of the ones I got but they were soggy. The chicken tacos weren't good, they tasted like something I made at home in the microwave and the salsa on top tasted like something out of a jar. The fish tacos lacked flavor, I can't say it was good or bad because it didn't have any flavor to it other then some of the lime I squeezed on top. I really enjoyed my first visit to En Su Boca! My friend, her kids, and I walked over after a meh experience at another nearby business. It was a warm but not muggy fall Saturday, so we requested seating in their cozy, inviting patio. They were able to immediately accommodate. The kids started with nachos (had a couple -- they were delicious!) and a spicy, stringy cheese app. I tried one bite, but it was a bit too spicy for me. For my meal, I selected the quesadilla with marinated lemon and lime chicken. They had several classic and creative options for fillings, and the chicken was probably the tamest of the bunch. No matter, I loved it! The quesadilla was filled with chicken and topped with sour cream. Fire-roasted salsa was on the side. The eatery also offers a full drink list, and my friend and I have already decided we'll be returning for happy hour after work sometime. We both had cans of the pineapple cider, but there were plenty of other options as well. En Su Boca is in a good location near all the breweries and bars of Scott's Addition. I did not even know such poor service on carry out was even possible. We ordered eight tacos, an elote, and a kids quesadilla. We received a spicy adult chicken quesadilla, tinga burrito, and chips. We did not catch this until we got home with a hangry two year old. I called, and we were comped for the order, and they put in a remake for us. I drove back. The GM assured us the charge was comped (TBD) and that the order was set. I get home again, and the quesadilla is still missing. Way annoyed as this takes away time with my family. Maybe shame on me as well, but checking a ticket against the contents is very, very simple. The right thing was done and the meal comped + someone else's order. Came here for a late night bite on date night after my boyfriend and I had heard so many positive reviews about En Su Boca, however we were very disappointed with our experience. To start, most of the items on the menu were sold out that evening, so neither of us were able to order our first-choice tacos. When we received our tacos, we bit in and immediately thought the flavor fell flat. They were quite bland, so I asked a hostess for some hot sauce. She said sure, walked away, and never returned. I watched as she finished cleaning a table, took an Advil behind the bar, and then returned to the hostess stand to chat with the second hostess and our waiter (while standing directly next to the bottles of hot sauce...). I had nearly finished my food by the time our waiter walked past and we were able to get him to bring us hot sauce. On top of the mediocre food, our server was very inattentive and a bit bizarre - for example, when the bell dinged to signal that food was ready, he clapped his hands together and said "yeah, let's f*ckin go!". We did have some very good sweet potato fries, however, they were a bit expensive as far as fries go. I'm not sure that I need to return after this experience. When I was telling a coworker about it a few days later, she said she also finds this place disappointing because "it's so hit or miss. Some days it's great, some days it's terrible". I think their chips are top tier! So crunchy and think. The tomatillo salsa is banging, the queso is alright, and their tacos are soooo on point. Every taco has so much flavor! They have a great tequila selection as well as beer. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is because they will really will upsell you anything they can. Happy to see that despite the difficult times En Su Boca was able to continue to provide friendly knowledgeable service and delicious food . Patio tables are well spaced out and servers were either wearing a mask or far away enough that you felt comfortable. I asked if they had a watermelon marg and instead of just saying "no " our server was quick to suggest a strawberry mango agua fresco marg that totally SLAPPED ! My chicken quesadilla was phenomenal , tasted fresh and balanced with refreshing pickled onions . I left happy and full. Can't recommend this place enough ! Just went here for the first time and it was awesome . From the moment we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly host . The bartenders were welcoming and helpful with our questions . En Su Boca is one of Richmond's staples for happy hour. I usually only go during happy hour due to their to die for tacos, margaritas, and wings all at a discounted price. However this time I went on a very busy and rainy Friday night around 6pm. I knew we were in for a long wait due to the small seating inside with them not able to utilize the outside patio. We were originally given a 30 minute wait time however it did take about 45-50 minutes to get seated.. It could have been sooner but there were multiple parties just squatting on the tables not eating, drinking or doing anything but wasting space (but that it out of their control). It was well worth the wait. Tecate with wings is what I got this time. I usually get their tacos or smothered burritos but I was craving the wings. Super meaty, juicy and very flavorful. The extra side of the lime crema is a must too! Such a good flavor to go with the heat of the wing. The bottomless chips are addicting. The thick chip with huge salt flakes make you eat until the basket is empty and then next thing you know the basket is refilled and you start all over again. My friend got the Escobar burrito... I was tempted but deferred to my wings but when I saw it come out I was kicking myself for not getting it. It was the biggest burrito I have ever seen. I wish I took a picture. This place is always packed on the weekend. Decided to grab a beer and an appetizer before my movie. Staff was friendly enough, but the elote made my heart sad. Took pictures, notice that the first is Instagram worthy but upon further inspection, the corn was dry, cold, and old. I don't like eating things that remind me of myself. Definitely one of my favorite restaurant in Richmond! I've been here several times and have loved the food every time. The unlimited chips are always crispy, and the accompanying sauces are decent. The chicken wings have a nice flavor, and while not the best chicken wings I'll ever eat, they're still a solid choice. My favorite item is the queso. I haven't found a restaurant that serves queso like this one, but even then, I doubt they can top this one. I substitute the chorizo with chicken every time, and it is delicious! It can be a little greasy, but it is cheese, so what can I expect... The tacos also taste great, and I love how they use a double layer of tortilla (my favorite meat in the tacos is the fried fish). This is a great place to take friends and enjoy a meal. The prices match the food they're serving, and I'm always extremely full after dinner. The only downside is that the wait time can be long and service has been slow occasionally in the past. However, once you get your food, you'll forget how long you've been waiting. read more

Came here with a group of friends Friday night. Feels a little strange being in the middle of the road. There is some parking on the side of the restaurant, on street parking, you can sneak onto the starbucks or also Aldi parking lot, although the Aldi lot is more risky. Started off with the chips and salsa - very crisp warm chips, but the real winner was the salsa - the red was very spicy and smooth, the green chilis made the other salsa. You can get quite a deal on the tacos - 10 for $25 if you eat enough, although I got 4 and splitting with the chips was plenty. The perfect way to top off this meal. Had a mean craving for tacos and wings. An interesting mix yes I know but they are my two favorite meals. Had this place on my list of places to try for a year now. Not a fan of the 5 car parking lot but the food definitely made up for it. Wings were different, but tasty. They served it with a side of pickled jalapeños and a green sauce drizzled over them. They make their own buffalo sauce that has a spicy kick to it but not too much. The tacos were just ok. I went during happy hour so everything I ordered was under $10. So had lunch here yesterday and I've heard RAVE reviews about this place. Uhhhhhhhh, guess you can't be vegan to share the sentiment. (I said what I said) Yeah it's a cute atmosphere and in trendy Scott's Addition but, the vegan options of seriously lacking. I ordered black bean tacos and the chorizo tacos. Only finished them cause I was hungry. It was edible food. I personally won't be back because they don't cater to vegans. At. All. On the upside, our bartender had a lead hand. Perhaps alcohol will help you find more delight in the food if you're vegan. (Or sneak in your own vegan cheese and sour cream) The ONLY way I'll be back here is if I'm meeting for drinks and plan to stick to salsa, guacamole and chips.
