This place is located in a little indoor mall. We went during lunch and nobody was there. Food was good. Service was very slow considering we were the only ones there. Cute little decor. Plenty of parking.

I ordered from Empress Gardens Egg Foo Yong and Shrimp Fried Rice, delivered by Door Dash driver William. It arrived with hot and speed really good. Unfortunately, there was an obvious global of spital on the food. See the provided pictures. I called Door Dash and Empress Gardens restaurant. I received a full refund from Door Dash. Empress Gardens was rude, when I informed them of the situation. Too bad because I have been looking for a good American style Chinese restaurant.

Empress Gardens, oh how I love you!! This place is fantastic! Specializing in Cantonese/Szechuan cuisine, they have been around for over 50 years! My family has enjoyed this restaurant for over 40 years and it never disappoints. I have tried almost everything on the menu and it's all delicious. They cook all the proteins to perfection: pork, beef, shrimp, chicken, etc... I love the Singapore Noodles, which has shrimp and chicken in angel hair pasta and curry. Beef with Pea Pods in another favorite dish. The beef is very tender and the sauce is delicious. Their fried rice dishes are a delight. I like the Yong Chow fried rice because it has chicken, ham and shrimp in it. I always get an egg roll--crispy of the outside and yummy on the inside. Vegetarian options too. They also offer dinner and lunch specials. Very friendly service. They have a dining room but it's currently closed due to Covid. Carry out only. I'm so glad they have remained open, continuing to provide excellent service and food during the pandemic. Easy pick up window and customers are requested to wear masks. All of the employees wear masks. Located in the Harvard Row strip mall with plenty of parking.

I'll start by saying the restaurant is nice on the inside. Traditional Chinese restaurant interior. Service was horrible. Said my carry out would be ready in 15 mins but turns out 50 mins. The food was a complete rip off. They said they would serve in quarts but gave smaller servings. I even went back and told them but they didn't correct my order. 4 of us tried the food and we all agree. The flavor was lacking. The sesame chicken didn't taste like normal sesame chicken - tasted like frozen food. Same for the sweet n sour. The lo mein had an after taste that was off putting. First time that I've been so disappointed. Don't recommend this place at all.

I also LOVED the noodles; they had the best texture and length in the Metro-Detroit area. When it comes to service, there's definitely a "hands-off" approach, as you order via a QR code and a machine brings your dishes to you. However, I was personally a fan of that, and we were still checked on by workers from time to time. Food came fast and I absolutely loved the vibes and interior of the restaurant. Great place and experience overall!

Total plot twist. The place was pretty quiet with only a few diners, so service was steady, though a little slow at times. We ordered the veggie noodles, cucumber salad, lamb skewers, xianbing pancake, and juicy pork dumplings. Overall, the food was decent and comfortably average, but honestly, we were just excited to finally find a Szechuan-style Chinese restaurant nearby. The veggie noodles were the clear winner of the night: chewy, flavorful, and coated in a sauce that had us going back for bite after bite. I could've done without the bok choy, though, and I wish the noodles had been a little less oily. The cucumber salad leaned much sweeter than we expected and was swimming in a bit too much soy sauce for our taste. The pork dumplings were nice and juicy inside, but the wrappers were slightly too doughy. Now the lamb skewers? Absolutely delicious. Great flavor, good portion size, and easily one of the highlights of the meal. The biggest disappointment, unfortunately, was the xianbing pancake. It didn't feel authentic at all. The crepe was way too thick, and the crispy crackers inside had lost all crunch and turned soggy instead. Still, the cozy vibe, solid noodles, and tasty skewers made it a worthwhile visit, especially if you're craving Szechuan flavors around Madison Heights.

The restaurant interior is much larger than expected; clean and fresh-smelling too. Booth and table / chair seating options are available. On this late morning weekday, shortly after it opened, the restaurant was quiet and uncrowded. Conducive to conversation over lunch. The menu, in both Vietnamese and English was detailed and descriptive. Our young server answered questions, offered excellent recommendations, helped instruct us about using the side plate of fresh beansprouts with one's pho entree. Thanks! My Phô Dǎe Biêt - a LARGE, steamy soup bowl of rice noodles, broth, eye round steak, beef, meatball, and a bit of tripe and tendon was divine. I added the beansprouts with fresh basil leaves for a nice texture and flavor variant. It was filling, and there was enough left to take home too! The Cha Giô Spring Rolls (x 2) came out hot and crispy fried. The accompanied Vietnamese garlic dipping sauce was absolutely delicious. I ordered a Vietnamese Coffee. It came sweetened with condensed milk, and served over ice. A nice finish to the meal, kind of like dessert! I understand you eat them "cold" but it was like they pre-rolled them & they sat all day in the fridge until it was ordered. I came in around 845PM. Felt the same temp as my ice cold water they brought out. Pork & shrimp very thin. Peanut sauce was very little, def not enough for 2 rolls. Took one small bite & took it home.
