After a previous bad experience at Empowered OBGYN, I decided to give this place another chance since Dr. Falcone was such a good doctor. I scheduled a postpartum visit with Dr. Freeman since she had a much sooner opening and I heard really great things about her as well. So after reading the reviews (and my own experience from years before), I went in expecting a long wait. So I planned to have my lunch with me and paperwork to fill out/emails to go out while I waited. It really was a long wait though. I got there 5 minutes early and waited about an hour after my appointment time before I was even called backed. The medical assistant Jenny seemed like she didn't want to be there but otherwise did her job as expected. After that, the wait times weren't so bad. The room was really cozy for a medical exam room, with artwork and nice little decor touches. I saw Dr. Freeman within 15 minutes and the appointment lasted probably about that long as well. Dr. Freeman has a very calm, professional but almost motherly demeanor. She was very knowledgeable and I felt confident about her conclusions and recommendations following the appointment. The best part is that she was able to arrange bloodwork in-house right after the appointment which was so convenient! I didn't haven't to wait that long for that, maybe about 15 minutes. But that saved me from having to make another stop. Altogether, the appointment lasted almost 2 hours which is kind of crazy, since only about 25 minutes of that time was actually being seen by a provider of some kind. The rest was just waiting. In any case, after my previous bad experience with the location's admin, I'd say the care was generally worthwhile. And the front desk staff was actually friendly this time! The main reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the wait time and perhaps the medical assistant not being that friendly. read more

I booked a new appointment online for 6/17, I got an email saying it was declined so I called in. I was told new patients can't schedule until August. But I was booking a new patient appointment, the woman who answered was the not the most helpful person. Telling me there's no way I could have made an appointment online for 6/17. I went to this OB/GYN from a referral because my last OB/GYN did not care about my well-being. I brought up several things to her about my hot flash symptoms from the first interaction from the office staff to speaking with the doctor I knew that this was my new Dr office. not only did they listen to my concerns, but they made me feel like my concerns are valid she answered all my questions and it was amazing knowing that I was actually cared about for the first time in years. It's been weeks now since my last visit and I can honestly say that I feel 100 times better no more hot flashes and other areas of concerns are better. If you're looking for a top-notch OB/GYN, that actually cares and staff from the front to the back, they care about your well-being. I would 100% recommend this OB/GYN to anyone. read more

I hope the clinic sees this and genuinely uses this to improve. Bottom line: I saw SARA RICHINS, MSN, APRN-CNM (Certified Nurse Midwife) several times during my first half of this pregnancy. I strongly urge the clinic consider having her train more or shadow OBs before they allowing her to lead patients through their pregnancies and deliveries. She could do some serious harm through misdiagnosis and frequent mistakes even when reading simple results. Misdiagnosis: I went to the anatomy ultrasound that was followed by an appointment with SARA. The ultrasound tech noticed inflammation of my right kidney and noted it in case. Placenta location was also taken. Umbilical cord placement was also taken. I saw SARA immediately after the ultrasound so she could interpret the results as the tech cannot interpret per policy. SARA, multiple times during our visit, mentioned how hard it was for her to interpret the results. SARA did not seem to know what she was doing during this benchmark yet standard appointment. SARA misread the placenta's position and told me I would need a C-section due to it. SARA told me the umbilical cord presented marginal potentially causing grave nutritional deficiencies for baby. SARA told me baby had an inflamed kidney. SARA told me I had cervical funneling as well guaranteeing early labor. She gave us a heartbreaking speech about how I might need surgery soon to ensure I didn't lose baby. She gave me incredible restrictions and referred me to a high risk doc. I asked her for a copy of the results and read them in front of her. I am not in the medical field and was able to interpret most of the results easily. Her confusion baffled me. I noticed several mistakes in her diagnosis. Baby's kidneys were absolutely fine. I corrected her and showed her how the inflamed kidney was mine as it was labeled "'maternal" clearly stating so. I asked about the funneling and my cervical length under the funneling and she said she needed the diameter measurement of the funnel to truly know what was happening in my cervix. (There's no such thing/need as several OBGYNs confirmed - the diameter isn't the concern here - she just didn't understand any of it). I went to high risk and other OBs for additional opinions as she provided little confidence in her capabilities. All OBs confirmed she misdiagnosed every bit of it. Placenta placement was perfect. Umbilical cord was not marginal. I was not going to automatically need a C-section. Baby was not in danger of deficiencies. There was no funneling. The second opinions were formed based on an ultrasound taken a few days after seeing SARA so there was no time for any major changes in presentation. An OB also reviewed SARA's assessment based on EMPOWERED's records and disagreed with her diagnosis based on the original ultrasound. They all concurred that SARA's restrictions were unnecessary. POSITIVES: I appreciate that she referred me to a high risk to ensure I and baby were fine. I appreciate she was forward leaning in protecting the pregnancy through restrictions until someone with better knowledge could further diagnose me. Other notes: SARA, during every single appointment (yes...every single time I saw her) managed to be texting and/or messaging using her laptop. She would be 50% in the conversation with me and 50% in a conversation with someone else through digital devices. It was clear as she would frequently apologize for being absent in a conversation while still texting and would also say who she was texting. Visits take 10 mins.... Please just commit that short time to your patient and be respectful of their experience. Anyway - I recommend going to another clinic or at least requesting to see actual OBs not SARA. I hope this truly helps someone. **this profile is under a nickname not my true name as it appears in my medical docs in case the clinic wants to claim there's no patient under this profile name** read more

I hate seeing new doctors. I haven't had the best experience in Las Vegas finding a doctor and when my ob/gyn announced they were closing, I was devastated. I've been going to that practice since I moved here in 2008, after seeing two HORRIBLE practices before them, and I did not want to start again. Thankfully, I found Empowered by looking up my favorite person from my old practice, who had left a bit earlier than the closure, and made an appointment. My appointment was at 8am, and they also open at 8am. I got there too early and waited in my car a bit, but this was no issue at all. The people at the reception desk were welcoming and friendly. The amount of paperwork is minimal because you do it all online beforehand. The clinic is clean and nicely decorated. I appreciated how clean the bathroom was. I saw Dr. Falcone and wow, I am so glad Empowered took me as a new patient. Dr. Falcone is amazing. I was so impressed by her bedside manner and was relieved that she was so friendly, down to earth, and helpful. I could tell she truly cared about my health needs and my comfort. There was also no rush in her demeanor, like other doctors. And she let me know that the person I loved from my old practice was a great addition to their practice and I might be able to see her some other time. I recommended my mom to this practice as well, her first appointment is soon. read more

I LOVE Dr Falcone!! I've been seeing her since 2021. My GYN MD had retired & I was so nervous in finding another exceptional GYN & a co-worker who has a 2nd job in L&D recommend Dr. Falcone as she has worked with her in delivering babies & had nothing but nice things to say about her & she was 100% right! Dr. Falcone doesn't deliver babies anymore & I only need her for GYN needs as I'm not looking to get pregnant. She always arrives in the exam room with a big smile, she's super friendly, knowledgeable, gentle, caring & doesn't make you feel rushed. She's a great listener to any concerns or questions I have. One time when I arrived for my yearly exam I was super stressed after getting some bad news from my job & she actually took the time to let me confide in her on what was going on. This was so appreciated & she didn't need to do this for me, thank you because it helped to talk about the issue with the 1st human I happened to come in contact with after getting the phone call from my boss. I did have an issue with a staff member while waiting to be seen last year. She didn't normally work the front desk but she had a horrible demeanor & wasn't very professional. I did find out today that she no longer works there & that the doctor's had replaced their staff due to having too many issues with them so if you have run into any issues with them please give the doctor's another chance. I even had an issue getting a hold of my MD's MA last year & scheduling an appointment earlier this year. It does make it hard for patient's when they love their doctor but not their staff & unfortunately unprofessional, uneducated & rude staff can affect their practice. I was glad to know that something has been done about it. I love how they have their own lab in house so I don't have far to go when I want blood work done with my yearly exam. The phlebotomist has always been really nice, professional, gentle & friendly. I don't usually have to wait long to be called back & review home meds & what I'm in the office for. I do find it odd that the only vitals that the MA takes is your weight & blood pressure. No heart rate, respirations, temp. or your height. I have run into having trouble in not being able in getting an appointment for a "problem" in a timely manner which can be frustrating if it's something that needs attention & may be gone by the time you do get an appointment. I like when doctor's leave some extra time in their day to fill these requests. I'm so thankful that I have found Dr. Falcone after having my previous, young GYN retire back in 2020. 5 STARS for Dr. Falcone!! Thank you! read more

They failed to inform me of my breast biopsy results last year but I came back for my annual today, against my better judgment. I just waited over an hour for my 9:30am appointment before asking for a refund and leaving without being seen. I'm especially frustrated because they are booked out months in advance but if I had "no-showed," I would've been charged. I get no compensation, however, for taking the morning off work, driving over here, waiting, and now deferring my annual exam. In fact, I'll probably have to dispute this charge on my card when they fail to refund me. There have got to be better options for care. I could not recommend Empowered less. They clearly cannot support their current volume of patients and need to reevaluate how they're operating. read more

Dr Jess was amazing. When she walked into the room I was greeted with a warm smile. She made my mom feel completely comfortable. Her bedside manners were superb. I would rate this office a 3.5 or 4. Saying a 4 because I am grateful. And truly if you can get in to see the right doctor person, you'll have a great experience. But I have pros and cons on what I like about this office and the practitioners. Pros: The biggest pro for this offfice is that they are in-network with UMR (which most teachers and casino workers have). I haven't had problems with billing. Hopefully it'll continue to be good because in the past I've run into too many problems with insurance. (Update: it's been great! Hopefully that's the case for others too.) The people who go here seem nice and it's been fun every once in a while to have a nice conversation with random strangers while waiting in the office. So that is very pleasant and makes the waiting better. There have been times where it's been more booked and times where you are able to get in right in. But I would say most of the time there is a wait. Cons: It somewhat sucks that I haven't been able to see the obgyn doctor I've been wanting to see. I also didn't like how they have been only giving me widwives to see when I don't necessarily want to see a midwife. As far as waiting before the appointment, a couple accidentally sat on the wrong side of the waiting room area, and they didn't get in for an hour. A lady and I who were sitting next to each other heard the conversation and exchanged back and forth that we were a bit worried that we would have to wait that long. We both ended up waiting about 30-40 min. Overall just glad they take my insurance and haven't had any problems to my knowledge yet when it comes to billing. Hopefully that continues to happen otherwise I won't recommend this obgyn either. So far with several obgyns I've been to down here to test out which one I've liked, I haven't fully liked any of them. Wish Nevada could improve in this area. And for others future reference: * STEPANIDA FREEMAN, MD (phlegmatic personality) Absolute love for her and how she runs her office. Everyone is so kind in her presence. You can tell she radiates love and concern and watchful help for each individual patient. * AMY FALCONE-WHARTON, MD (not sure) * THY "KRISLA" NGUYEN, DO (phlegmatic personality) Loved her. She is so kind. Really reads the notes and looks into details. * LEAH TAPIA-NICHOLES, APRN (not sure, I would guess sanguine personality) didn't like her. * JESSICA GDOVIN, PA-C (chloric personality) worst one in my opinion. * KAM-LIN GREGORY, APRN-CNM (not sure, I would guess melancholy personality) didn't like her that much either. read more

Consistently great care from Dr Falcone (hormone expert extraordinaire!!!) and Jessica. Any concern of mine has always been addressed. I'm so grateful Dr Falcone stays on top of HRT studies. Dr. Falcone is an exceptional OB-GYN practicing in the Las Vegas/Henderson, NV area. For over 12 years, I was prescribed ibuprofen and informed that it was the only option available to manage my endometriosis. Fortunately, a friend recommended Dr. Falcone, and that recommendation proved to be life changing. Dr. Falcone took the time to thoroughly evaluate my condition and promptly scheduled further examination, during which a significant mass, in addition to the endometriosis, was identified as the underlying cause of my prolonged pain and illness. I am deeply grateful for Dr. Falcone's diligence and comprehensive approach, which ultimately led to the appropriate treatment, including a partial hysterectomy. read more

Most unknowledgeable staff. Had no idea on how to take calls, no idea what services they provide either. Schedule a procedure and when I arrived two weeks later, they informed me that they were confused why I was there and that what I scheduled was not something they do. I have been seeing Jessica for many years and she is amazing! She always takes her time with me to make sure I'm comfortable and answers any and all of the questions I might have. Unfortunately, as a PA, she couldn't perform my recent hysterectomy, so she turned me over to Dr. Freeman, who is by far the greatest surgeon ever!! Dr. Freeman answered all of my questions and helped me feel educated and confident with my decision. She performed the DaVinci laparoscopic surgery on Thursday, I was able to attend an Aviators game on Friday, and I was back to work on Monday. Obviously, not without some discomfort and stretchy pants, but I was absolutely blown away with the results. The ultrasound tech is also amazing and really puts you at ease during the usually very uncomfortable exam. I have never had a bad experience with Empowered and will continue to see them for all of my gynecological needs. read more

I saw the PA Jessica. Not sure why she is in WOMEN'S healthcare because she is extremely ignorant of women and our aging process and hormonal changes. I told her I want to get my labs ran to see my markers, including hormones and her response was "why? They are just numbers". I was so shocked that i didn't school her on the importance of hormonal balance, aging, menopause, etc. She was extremely rude, condescending, and lacking knowledge of basic understanding of her field. I then wrote Dr. Falcone and told her what had happened, and she was more than willing to work with me and said she specializes in hormones. I actually think that Jessica should not be seeing women in healthcare at all. She should probably be in a lab with no human contact. I decided to hire a hormone specialist and all is good now.;) read more

dr. freeman is awesome. very knowledgeable and made me feel welcomed at this office. one thing i would say they need to work on is their appts or scheduling. i was told birth control is just done through walk ins, but every single time ive done a walk in for my birth control, ive had to wait over an hour to be seen. it is very inconvenient especially for working moms or moms who have kids to pick up from school. i get that offices get busy but for the last 3 times i've came in and did a walk in for bc ive had to clear out 2 hours of my day just to be seen. this process needs to be changed and appointments need to be created for birth control, not walk ins. they're not respectful of peoples time read more

I should have written this review last year when I waited over an hour for my appointment. Came back this year for my annual exam. I was told to arrive 15 minutes early if I have new insurance. I did that. Upon checking in the girl at the desk asked if "there is anything else I will be asking about during my appointment" I mentioned that I would like to talk with the Dr about my husband and I trying to have a baby. She then told me she would change the type of my appointment then and my $0 co pay would now be $75. I pushed back on this, and she said that if anything outside of what my appointment is for is brought up then the insurance will bill me. I asked if my current sexual activity is not allowed to be discussed in my annual exam, and she replied with "well we just have to be careful or they will charge you." I said I would take my chances and put the appointment back to an annual so I can have my $0 co pay. After this I waiting 30 minutes past my appointment time before I asked how much longer and was told there would still be one more person before me. I canceled my appointment and left. They try to over charge you and do not respect appointment times. read more

Extremely disappointed. I have been going here for the past almost 4 years. Drs have been great- never had an issue with them or the office, until now. My problem now is with the billing department and the terrible communication between departments and customer service, or really, lack there of. This is my third pregnancy- I'm not new on the block with this process but I went to my first pregnancy appointment where they did the ultrasound to confirm pregnancy and then a follow up with Dr. I am cash pay at the moment. Ultrasound was quoted to me both over the phone and at the time of my visit to be $200 and Dr visit was $150, which I paid at the time of my appointment - BEFORE I was seen. That's normal. All good there. BUT, they charged me without my knowledge an additional $350 a week after my appointment. When I confronted them they said it's because they did two different ultrasounds at the same time. I was NEVER informed of this before or after my appointment. Nor was I ever informed of any additional costs for that appointment. My receipt from the appointment never showed an additional ultrasound or additional charges. If a service is not disclosed to a cash-pay patient beforehand, I cannot consent to or authorize that charge. Every other Dr office I've been to has ALWAYS called me if I had an outstanding balance. Never have I had a billing dpt just charge my card without informing me. That is a lack of informed financial consent. Even after admitting they are in the wrong for not informing me of not just the billing but also the additional service given- They are still refusing to refund me the money. Their GREED and lack of moral compass is showing. I'm not an insurance company- I'm a human being with bills to pay and kids to take care of - you can't just add in unauthorized additional services after the fact to suck more money out me. Needless to say, if this is not resolved by their office, I'll be filing formal complaints with the state medical board, state consumer protection division, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, also requesting an audit of the clinic's billing practices because this is just fraudulent and UNETHICAL. read more

Went here for prenatal care as I really like Dr. Amy Falcone. Sad to hear she does not deliver but I continued to go here to see her colleagues instead only because I had a good experience with Dr Falcone. Terrible experience as I was told by Sara Richins my insurance was accepted at st rose sienna. She was so sure and confident I trusted her. Only to find out weeks later my insurance is not accepted at that hospital. Now scrambling to find a new obgyn since im closer to the end of my second trimester. I needed them to fax my records to the new obgyn so they could schedule my appointment. However when I followed up, Jenny (not sure which department handles faxing) told me off the bat "according to state law we have 30 days to fax your record". Who says that?! How incredible rude and pure lack of empathy and customer service in general. She could have just said they were really busy and will get to it soon. I work in healthcare and it does not take 30days to fax records. I hope Dr Amy Falcone is aware she has such rude staff working at her practice. Do not recommend. Office experience. I was in the exam room waiting for Dr Freeman for quite awhile (way too long) when Jessica the PA came in. I thought I was seeing Dr Freeman. Jessica said Dr Freeman was delayed because she was delivering a baby. Didn't they tell you? NO, nobody told me anything and they should have. Jessica asked if I wanted to wait for her and I should've asked how long but I said let's go ahead. Jessica was very nice but I felt very rushed. I only get 1 yearly exam and I expect a discussion. Not a rushed exam and no concern for my concerns. This was my first time here. My last Dr asked me questions that led to things women should talk about as they age. I FEEL CHEATED! This is a warning post about empowered OBGYN. THEY ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORST CHOICE FOR A PRENATAL CARE PROVIDER. I had HORRIBLE BV/Yeast infection symptoms and asked for them to run labs to pinpoint which one I had. They refused to run labs. They gave me prescriptions for both and told me to just take both. I STILL HAVE SYMPTOMS. I called dozens of times in a week to ask for a new prescription because my infection never cleared up. I never received a call back. I'm still having symptoms. My first appt with the midwife was like 10 mins. The rest of my appts were all rushed and dismissive. They told me I was a high risk pregnancy, yet they haven't returned a single one of my phone calls. I have to call dozens of times to finally reach someone to ask my questions. Also, AT NO POINT did they tell me there was a delivery fee or a birthing contract. *I* had to ask them if there was a delivery fee. They responded, "Oh yeah, glad you brought that up. There's a $2500 delivery fee, and the first payment of $625 is due at your next appointment." My next appointment was a week later. They gave me one week to come up with $625. I told them I couldn't afford that. They told me if I can't pay it in 4 payments starting at my next visit, I'd be dropped as a patient. I asked why I need to enter a birthing contract with them when my doctor literally told me she will be on vacation for two weeks during my due date. They told me it's still necessary. I called the office no less than 30 times in a week long period to ask more questions about the birthing contract/delivery fee and get more clarification. I didn't receive one call back. Not. Even. One. Eventually I called again and ended up sobbing and they finally put someone on the phone to answer my questions (Evette.) Evette was very defensive and told me they would not be adjusting the payment plan and there's nothing they could do. At no point did she acknowledge THEIR failure to notify me of the delivery fee. At no point did she apologize for the hellish experience I've had there. She was rude, defensive, and when I told her I'd be leaving a terrible google review, she simply hung up on me. In a month and a half of appointments, they never once brought up registering me at a hospital to give birth. They don't answer phone calls. They don't care that I'm a high risk pregnancy with a persistent infection. They are rude when you finally do get ahold of someone, and incredibly defensive. If I could give -100 stars, I would. STAY AWAY FROM EMPOWERED OBGYN. You'll see their responses to their multiple 1 star reviews on here are all defensive, with no accountability. They blame the patients for their own failures. I'm 32 weeks pregnant, high risk, WITH an infection and they're dropping me as a patient because I can't afford to pay the first payment of $625 with a week's notice. What am I supposed to do now?! Edited to add: Look at their response to my review. "There are two sides to every story". What is the other side of neglecting patient care, not giving a good faith estimate, and not notifying patients that there is a $2500 with more than a week notice? What is the "other side of the story" when I still have an infection, and I'm high risk, and they haven't provided me care for that infection? And what is this about being abusive to staff? I had to call dozens of times to even get someone on the phone with me. I finally told them I'll be blasting them online and apparently that's me abusing their staff. This office is neglectful and then defensive about it, and clearly takes no accountability. Just look at their defensive responses to other people's horror stories! read more

Highly recommend Dr. Falcone. Non judgmental, easy to talk to, and offers trauma-informed care.

Skip the midwife here. She was dismissive, rude, and took out on me her frustration with the fact that the staff scheduled me "too early" at my first prenatal appt. She spent the whole appointment lecturing me instead of providing me actual care. I asked for progesterone and HCG and was told I was only allowed to do HCG. But then I was never given the order. I scheduled the appt early because I was in urgent care and was advised to get on cancellation list and follow up ASAP. The midwife didn't care. Never asked me how I was feeling. Told me she couldn't confirm my pregnancy at 6 weeks. After having prior loss I expected more empathy from the provider. I've switched OB's now but just wanted to try to avoid this happening to other people. I tried to tell the front desk about my terrible experience at check out but she didn't seem to care. If you've experienced prior loss try finding a provider who will actually care because the midwife here doesn't. read more
