If I were looking for a job myself, looking to hire someone, or trying to help someone get hired, Aaron would be my go to guy. He is very creative and easy to work with. Aaron has a talent for working with everyone ranging from someone looking for their first job, to someone who is in mid-career, or even someone going for that top level, executive position. I know of an instance recently where he was working with someone who was looking for their first job, was very shy, and had a hard time putting herself out there for interviews. Aaron coached her to build up her self confidence and land that first job very quickly. I sent an initial inquiry email to them in early December, and I heard back to take proficiency tests and schedule an appointment with them on the 10th. My appointment was on the 17th where I got to know Ellen who gave me some invaluable advice, resume review, and a pep talk with the enthusiasm that I only wish I could have had for finding myself a job, let alone for someone else. On the 19th I heard that I had a phone interview for the 23rd. That went well and I started work on the 26th. I'm throwing all these dates out for a reason. From the time I initially made contact to the time I actually started a job was a mere 16 days. And I had a meeting with them within 7 to actually start the process. This was an INCREDIBLE turnaround time for someone who has been applying to jobs non-stop for the past 3 months with little to no word back from any. I got feedback on my resume and interview skills that have undoubtedly increased my chances at getting hired again in the future, whether through them or on my own. They are incredibly kind and supportive, and genuinely want to find work for you. A large number of the positions they get are temp-to-hire so you can go in with a relatively stable outlook, and if a job isn't working out for you or doesn't fit your skill set, they are happy to help you find something else that works better for you. They want to get you working, and have you be satisfied with it, and you can tell they care from the moment you walk in. I look forward to working with them more in the future if I should need other employment, and I cannot recommend them enough.

I would have had to come a 4th and 5th time if I didn't insist that I finish the procedure over the phone. Every time I call to report something else they did wrong, they tell me they'll call me back, and they never do. I've even called them back to tell them they forgot to call me back, and what was their reply?: "We'll call you right back." (They never did.) I have yet to receive a paycheck I earned 5 weeks ago. After countless unreturned calls and unanswered questions, they finally told me they could put a stop payment on the first check and send me a new one. Outraged, I demanded they deposit it electronically into my bank account. They said they'd call me back, and they did... 2 days later. They told me they have sent it to my account. This was yesterday, and I have still yet to receive any money from them. And it is Friday, so I will have to wait until Monday for them to mess up and tell me they'll call me right back again. This can't be legal. Avoid at all costs.

However, where I find NOVA really comes through for its members is access to resources. During my time, I was given opportunities to attend job fairs, an event at the LinkedIn campus, and regular networking events. Every Thursday NOVA also brings in a guest speaker to present key topics. Many of these speakers are very open to providing you with free consultations where I've had the chance to get different perspectives on my resume, career coaching, and networking advice. NOVA members also get free access to LinkedIn Premium and LinkedIn Learning for a year and courses on IBM SkillsBuild for 6 months. Most importantly, what you get with NOVA is a community of advisors and members to support you so you don't feel as if you're doing this job search alone. Best of all, all of these services and offerings cost you NOTHING, as long as you live within the qualified cities. My inquiries went unanswered for days, and when I finally received a response, it was unhelpful and dismissive. I encountered issues with my order that should have been resolved quickly, but instead, I was met with long wait times and a lack of accountability. It felt like no one cared about my concerns or was willing to help. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the customer service here.
