Doctor Junk - Full Load of Junk

    Doctor Junk

Dr.Junk was one of the most professional operations I've ever dealt with. The only reason I'm…read moresaying one of is I'm not referring to Furniture & Junk removal I'm talking about furniture stores contractors and alike. Bob is the Owner operator of the business and really know how to run a professional removal service. My Father in Law Passed away and we had 30 year old massive formica furniture pieces amongst other sizeable furniture. Bobs 2 workers that showed up in an hour after I spoke with Bob were true gentleman and professional as well as careful in removing the furniture and couches as well as being careful with not damaging anything else.As a true professional owner Bob showed up to help disassemble a massive formica headboard tower over 6.5 feet tall and 8 feet wide.Everything was handle with great care and respect to the premises.I feel so bad I didn't bring the 2 workers names with me back home to NY but they were respectable massive pro's.No need to shop around because Dr. Junk could have stretched this job out and gotten more money and he handled it like I've been a client forever. Don't waste you time with quotes Just pick up the phone call Dr. Junk and good chance you'll get Bob the owner ! You won't go wrong. After all the heavy lifting they cleaned up the entire path from to Condo to the truck including the elevator! We'll be gutting the condo in February and a 2nd thought isn't needed for construction debris DR. JUNK will be the call thanks guys and thank you Bob we appreciate all you did!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bob's Recycling Center - Metal about to get weighed

    Bob's Recycling Center

    (9 reviews)

We recently had a lot of metal from old storm shutters that we needed to get rid of. Rather than…read morejust dump it, we decided to take it to a recycling center. By taking it to Bob's, we were able to get $100 for our haul, so it was definitely worth the trip there. Plus, they are recycling metal, which prevents things from ending up in a landfill. The process is pretty simple: you pull up in their driveway in front of the center and unload your items onto one of the many carts they have available outside. Different types of metal go on different carts. They then roll the cart onto a scale and weigh it. The cashier records the weights and calculates what it's worth. They will then give you a receipt and cash right away, and you're on your way. The whole process is very quick, and the only wait is if there is someone else dropping off items before you and the time it takes you to unload your items. One thing that could be a little easier is understanding what types of metal they accept and differentiating the type of metal, which have different prices. It's of course simple for most people to know the difference between copper and aluminum, but there are other distinctions like types of alloys, extruded, clean or unclean, etc. Some pictures or examples on the website and a clear description of what clean and unclean mean would be helpful. For most people bringing scrap metal, this is probably something they know, but for the casual visitor it would be helpful to know before going in. If you're not sure, though, they will handle it at the shop and you can just trust them to record it accurately.

Im not one for writing bad reviews, but today was their last chance. This place rips you off....4…read moreout of 5 times I've been short changed by the lady working the counter. Multiple times I've called and asked for a price on specific scrap and upon arriving the price changed. When attempting to talk to the manager, he gave tremendous attitude saying "you dont have to sell here!" and "I've been doing business for 50 yrs" BEFORE I could even ask my question. Worst customer service experience ever! Ps. My question, after having asked him 4 times if he was going to give me a chance to talk, was "why aren't you paying the same price as last week?" To which his response was "w/e makes you happy"
