The problem with this company started from when the sales guy, Rich, came to the house. We gave him our energy bills and was told that he would provide enough solar panels for us to never have an energy bill again. Everything sounded great and we signed the papers in August. The deadlines soon passed when it was to be installed, when come to find out Rich doesn't work for the company anymore. After calling every number possible to reach someone, we got in touch with Peggy who eventually got the ball rolling again, 5 months later! The first year of having solar was horrible. It didn't even work for months at a time. Service techs came out and just flipped a switch and said all is fine. No one ever actually checked the system. We kept calling Empire Solar because of the high energy bills we were getting. I cannot even count the number of times they've had to reimburse us for that. Techs said to talk to Miguel and he will give us money back. Techs even talk bad things about the company. Also we had a pigeon problem with them hiding under the panels. Empire Solar said that we should have a net installed. Why wasn't it done at the beginning? Why wasn't that told to us? Because of the faulty system the first year, we never actually earned the credit that was supposed to take us through the summer. So that was more money out of our pocket due to their negligence. The second year is even worse. Numerous times we've been back and forth with this company. They even just installed a newer inverter box and said that it should work now. Well it doesn't. (Mind you, the inverter box has a 12 year warranty if it's not working properly.) We are still getting energy bills. Every time we call Empire Solar, no one is ever available. No one returns calls. It's just excuse after excuse. We recently spoke to a manager named Michael. He had the audacity to tell us that if we would have asked the right questions when signing up that there wouldn't be problems. He also stated that we will always get energy bills. So what's the point of this product? When the power goes out in the neighborhood, don't expect your home to run on solar. You will also need an additional $7000 for a battery... another thing never mentioned to us. We told Michael we want to escalate the matter higher up, but he refuses. He claims no one will have anything different to say than he does. Empire Solar lied to us from the start. They used false advertising to get our money. We want to hear from Mr. Hard, Mr. Houskeeper, and even the founders of the company. We want this useless product removed from our home, the damage fixed, and a full refund. read more

Don't blame COVID for crappy service. Original LGCY Power sold us our Solar Panels and contracted Empire to do the work. Empire is so disorganized and lack of true leadership. We had to keep reaching out to our project coordinator to check the status. They came out did the install and the panels sat on my roof ready to be turned on for production. Over 2 months went by before any inspectors came out to check everything. June, July, and first part August before we were able to turn them on. Fast forward to September I started having issues with the panels not producing. Took about 1 week to get on the schedule and even then, they just showed up without notice. They said they fixed the issue and left. Well, they made the issue worst. We are close to the end of October and they are still not producing. 1 panel produces less than 200Wh while the rest are over 1.75KWh. Still no response from emails. We've had several issues with this company. They installed our panels on the wrong side, they installed fewer panels then we were supposed to have and now our solar unit stopped working. Horrible. No one keeps you updated on what's happening or when people need to come and access your home. No one knows what someone else just told you. One representative told me that the city didn't approve the system and needed changes while another person told me that the city had never inspected the system. Has no control over the 3rd party sales relationships they have and takes no responsibility in making it right. Empire Solar outsources its sales operations so one of their partners (Simple Energy) come to my home to provide a quote. The process they used was to lie, mischaracterize and pressure - insisting we sign an engagement contract as "authorization" to conduct a roof inspection. I didn't sign but Empire conducted the roof inspection and provided a quote; regardless, because of my experience with there sales partner, they didn't get the job. Despite, three months later, I received a loan bill/statement from a lender (Mosaic) for a loan we never took out - for a solar project that never happened and it had Empire's name all over it.... It appeared that a loan had been fully executed without our knowledge or approval. While this is troubling - it could be a simple misunderstanding (although very odd one at that), but it was Empire's response to the issue that got my attention. They could have easily expressed regret for the issue and any confusion it may have caused, explain their relationship with the 3rd party but commit to using their partnership to move towards resolving the matter and putting us at ease that we weren't the victim of fraud... but Henry (with Empire Solar) decided to go another direction. He stated (in so many words) that they just install panels, they have a lot of solar sales company they take work from and it's not their problem to address. Given that every erroneous document had Empire's name on it.. one would think (at the very lease) they'd be interested in assisting to resolve the matter. If you're looking for solar I recommend sticking to a company that will take your project from start to finish with all facets internal. read more

Don't trust Empire Solar, my installation has been completed for over 60 days and the power has yet to be switch over to solar. It is almost impossible to talk to anyone at Empire Solar so do not ever expect you calls or texts to be returned. Empire Solar did not complete the switch to solar and when I call the electric company, I was told that all the paper work and fees have not even been paid. Empire Solar will steal your money and not complete their job. Don't trust Empire Solar, all they want is your money, they care what happens afterwards. Totally ghosted us after setting up a whole deal. My wife and I were so excited about getting set up up before the summer, but that never happened. They came off as very professional and reliable and unfortunately that was far from the case. I have never seen such disregard for ones customers in all my life. Horrible service from the start. I was very disappointed that we failed the inspection 6 different times. I thought I was dealing with a professional company but it's quite the opposite. There's hardly any communication from company aside from being told inspectors can arrive at any given time without warning. Horrible, business promised me a solar paneled roof and gave me a inverter that didn't work and they had to replace it 3 times. In the end, the inverter still does not work and the app is even worse. We can not see that we are producing energy at all. We have been told by customer service to check the inverter for the greenlight, it is in fact on but we have no idea how much energy we are producing. OH how disappointed we are in Empire Solar Group, our project has been done and installed since 4/30/2020, we waited the 30 days to operate and 5/30/2020 came and went and we have had nothing but issues with Empire getting all necessary paper work to NV Electric that is required and come our inspection date 3 months later it was a FAIL because EMPRE didn't install enough meters for our system and battery. UMMM how many unites have been installed by this company that they do not know what is required both at the home as well as what paperwork is to be submitted to the Electrical company!! I am totally disappointed in this company. My wife and I were interested in learning more about solar panels so we allowed the salesman to come in and give us his pitch. We stated several times we needed to talk about it and we don't want to commit to anything. He assured us that nothing is set in stone and we were not required to commit. He asked for our information to run credit, which we allowed, to hear our rate for the solar panels. We had to sign papers saying that it was okay that he ran credit. After he left, I felt uneasy about the whole thing and double checked the documents. One was a installation agreement that he did NOT tell us about. Immediately called the man and told him to cancel that. The next morning we called the number he provided and HE HAD SIGNED US UP FOR A LOAN WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE. Luckily it was early enough to be voided before anything went through. I signed my contract with empire solar from July 2019, it is now May of 2020. The job is still not completed fully. I am a sales rep that travels all over florida mostly and across the USA. I represent high end products and deal with customers that require that next level of service. So I know customer service and empire solar gives the worst customer service. Every time I call them for an update on the work of my account, they say they will get back to me and will for sure call me. They never call you back. I have yet to have one of them to call me back. When I ask to talk to a manager or supervisor, they are never available or in a meeting. I am promised the manager will call me back, never happens. For months now they have been telling me that a technician is supposed to pass by my home and install the cell antenna that will communicate with their system and the app I have downloaded to tell me the power it is generating. They said it is done from the outside of the home and no need to come into the home. The first couple of times I called to see if they passed by to do the work, they say they are scheduling for the tech to pass by next week and they will call me back to confirm. I got that response for the first 3 to 4 times I called. The last three times I called, I now get the response that they are going to schedule the tech to come out and finish the job. I've asked a manager to call me back, never got a call back from anyone. No manager, no supervisor, not even the customer service person. This is the worst company to deal with. horrible. If I was the owner of this business, I would look into getting my employees trained in how to take care of the customer and communication. If they still don't know how to call a customer back, I would suggest replacing them with employees that know how to call customers back. I have my next door neighbor went with a different solar company, they installed his system and had him running in three months. No issues. When he calls them for anything, they call him back the same day or the next. His system cost $10,000 less than mine! I made a call yesterday to empire solar to tell them I want a manager to call me back that I'm very upset, still no call. That goes to show you the type of service you get from empire solar and how much they care about their employees. I will let this known on my social media platforms, google, yelp, whatever I can write my experience on. And I bet I still won't get a call back. We recently (April 2021) purchased solar from Empire Solar/ Legacy Power and have had several issues with no support from either company. In Texas, Legacy Power sends out sales reps on behalf of Empire Solar, and then have Solar Edge do the install. This leads to alot of confusion and finger pointing. And not to mention, LoanPal handles the loan/payments. To start with, our sales rep made promises and quoted numbers that ended up being false. We spent nearly $100k and were told that Legacy would cover the first 12 payments. Only after several complaints and calls did they eventually send us a check. During the install, they damaged our fence and roof and left a mess in the attic, they never came back to fix. And up until now, only half our system has worked, so we've still had to pay a significant light bill AND the loan. When calling support, you can only leave a voicemail and HOPE for a call back, which never happens. Even their email is no longer valid. Worst customers service ever. read more

Stay away from this group. Solar is great, Empire Solar are not. Our rep made promises about cash rebates and energy credits. We recieved neither. Our installation should have taken 1 day, but the first day all but 1 person from the installation crew left after less than 30 minutes. Leaving a single person to work unsupported on our roof. Meaning we had to stay home in case of emergency. The day after installing we found leaks in our roof from the panels. The whole project had to be checked and fixed. Luckily we caught the leaks right away before it could damage things. After installing Empire said approval and connection would be a day or so. Try closer to 8 weeks. Empire said we didn't need all the panels we could have fit, but to date we have not had a single month without having an electric bill, and 1 more panel probably would have taken care of that. I am all for going solar, just DON'T USE EMPIRE. read more

I had a salesperson come to my house under the ruse that this was someone who would be evaluating my home to see how I could save money on my energy costs (nest thermostat, insulation, etc). I just got a new ADT security system and one of their representatives told me about the person who would come and help me save money on my electric bill. A few days later I'm being told how I should sign up for solar panels. The presentation was mediocre but I liked what this person was selling. Before I signed up for anything I asked specifically "Am I making a final decision?" I was told no. It would take at least 5 months before anything would be put up on the roof. I read through what I was signing. Paperwork said the same thing. Cool, I thought. I'll talk this over with some people I work with (at a national energy company) to see what they have to say about it. If they say I should do it I'll give the go ahead and get things started. A few days later I get an email from my installation coordinator saying they were going to get things started. I thought there must be some mistake because I never gave the official go ahead. Then I received another email saying they were going to start getting the permits to start. That's when I sent a response saying that I wasn't ready to start the project yet. At this time I had only been in my house for two months and had other projects I wanted to take care of before I started this. One of them being some minor repairs to my roof. I would let them know when I was ready to start. Completely ignored me and continued sending me updates on how the project was progressing. I also let the salesperson who came to my home know that I did want to start the project yet. Again, I was ignored. Later, I get a text from the coordinator saying they were ready to install the panels and could do so in two days. I again let him know that I had repeatedly said that I wasn't ready to start this project and I would let him know when I was ready. The last straw was when an Oncor technician came to my house to do some work. I work from home and i just happened to hear some movement in my backyard. I quickly went to go check it out while in a Zoom meeting and told him I never set up an appointment for this and I have told way too many people that I didn't want to do this now. After that I let my salesperson know that I was no longer interested in having the solar panels put up. I was then told that it would cost me $2,000 to cancel because the solar panels had already been ordered. I immediately said I wasn't going to pay that. A few days go by and he said he spoke to someone at the office and was able to get it down to $1,000. I said just so I understand I'm supposed to pay $1,000 because no one listened to me when I said I wasn't ready to start the project now. The answer... "Yes that is correct". I intend to let everyone I know and post on every avenue I can find about the horrible business practices of this company read more
