Before calling Tingey we had tried to work with half a dozen other companies who would either not call us back, or would come out and charge us for their opinions but not finish the work. Jared was always so prompt, professional, and informative when I worked with him to get our plumbing fixed. Not only did he call me back when he said he would, he would also follow up quickly if any of the times changed for the team to come out (which they only did once by 30 minutes). Jordan spent a whole day at our house fixing our septic issue and during these crazy times of COVID he made sure to wear a mask, gloves, and sanitize everything thoroughly. He went above and beyond by noticing issues with our water heater as well as helped to diagnose other issues he came upon that were not even connected to the original problem without charge. They told me it would take a few days to complete and it was 1/2 down and 1/2 at time of completion. After I gave half down and they were ready to start, he said supplies were hard to get and secure and they needed just a little more money. Stupidly I gave him more money. (Now we are at 3/4 down) The week all my other people were scheduled to be here, he was a no show all week! After weeks (2nd week of December) he finally installed the furnace and a few runs. Using my old burnt run for the return line and installing a crooked flu. (Pics included) I then had to pay the plumber $350 to hook the furnace to the gas line, as they did not have the supplies, equipment, or what seemed knowledge to do so himself. He asked the plumber if he could have the supplies for free to do it, after trying to pawn it off as the plumbers job! The plumber flat out told him it wasn't his job to hook the gas line to the furnace they were installing!!! After that the work pretty much stopped. Aside from 2 hrs he (the son) spent here the day after I got upset, installing the A/C line that looks like they ripped it out of an old job, and held together with what appears tape in some areas (pics also included). Then his son stole my husbands $500 saw and extra battery. After getting called out for that he tried to play it off that he thought it was his. I still gave the owner the option to just get the job done!! Getting told it will be done on Monday, and then getting stood up twice and no shows again all week, and after 2 More weeks of getting the run around, now he is asking for another $2500 to even bring the A/C unit over and install it!! As if I'm dumb enough to give them any more money! this is not the half down at begging we agreed upon and the half down at the end. We have already over extended that! Burn me once shame on you burn me twice shame on me! It was at that point I realized I had been taken advantage of, and ripped off. Do not give this business any money of yours. They will take it and never finish the work, to try and drag you out. Like who does that, who takes advantage of and steals from a family who is already put out by a house fire and has already had a horrible year?! Shame on them! He and his son (Matt?) are partners. They do both commercial and residential jobs. Recently, our air conditioner unit stopped working and I called and texted him. He replied quickly and is son came over same day to check it out. It looked to him like it would be better to replace it, rather than invest in the costs of all the parts to repair it, only to be disappointed if the repair worked temporarily, but the age of the unit left no guarantees for how long it would run before it might give out again. I appreciated that, but explained that it was honestly a tough time to come up with money for a replacement right now (we've been financially hit by COVID). Jeff listened, and was willing to come down a little on his bid. I was going to do my due diligence and get a 2nd bid for the replacement. His son (AWESOME GUY) thought about it and wanted to help us out. He unexpectedly came over the next day, had part at home that he installed and MIRACLE!! IT WORKED! It may not work forever, and we realize the AC will need to be replaced in the future. They charged us for a basic repair, totally fair price, and we are SAVED for now! Like I said, Jeff answered quickly, they came out same day, his bid was fair, sometimes he's willing to negotiate, if you can't do the smarter expensive replacement they're going to do their best to get you back to up and running! I should have said No. These large companies with fleets of vehicles have a lot of overhead and mouths to feed. Item codes are used to bid a job versus the actual parts/labor is really takes. My simple P-trap repair? $150.00 -- 20 minutes of time and the plumber was already here doing other work. The next time we need a plumber, we're supporting the small independent guys.
