Horrible is the word that best describes this whole company. They will come into your house and lie lie lie. Once you actually finally break down and make you thinking it's a good idea they just leave you in limbo unknown. No communication. If they finally do call you with some random "project manager" they will set up a date to install that means nothing to them at the crazy time of 6 am Then no call no show. But if you cancel on them or want to reschedule it's a $500 dollar fee. The best they will do is respond when they feel like it with a "we are trying to get you a couple months paid" on your 20 year loan. read more

In reading through the reviews they are very positive or very negative. No gray area here. My experience is the same. The installation crew is fantastic but support following the installation is PATHETIC! Every time the power goes out, even briefly for a fraction of a second, my battery goes back into the "doesn't work correctly" mode and getting service is ridiculously poor. If we could only get them to be as efficient in keeping the battery operating as it should as they are at collecting the money they want for it, we'd have an awesome situation. read more

Installed in September of 2024 and has never worked right since the beginning. Battery works for a few days and then doesn't for many days and months. Dozens of phone calls with zero response. We went 4 months last year during the summer with zero battery backup and paid huge bills from having to use the grid completely. If it wasn't for James Murray from Solrite helping me I would have never got it restored at all. Sales manager Brock Glassman was great and tried to help me but ES Solar failed us big time. Nothing worse than having to pay Solrite each month and still pay PG&E's huge bills. I plan to have it removed. Then sue. read more

I am extremely upset and disappointed with my experience with ES Solar. I started the process of getting a home battery installed back in September 2025 and was originally thrilled. The contractors were on time and professional, and everything seemed to be going smoothly. They disconnected my solar panels from the grid, the city inspection was approved on 9/25/25, and we were told we could finally go "live." Then everything fell apart. When they sent someone to get the battery up and running, it didn't work. I was told the system "wasn't communicating" and that the issue was supposedly the solar panel company's fault. After waiting for answers, someone finally told me they would send a contractor out with the part needed to fix it. That's when I found out the truth: The contractor literally told me that my brand new $20,000 battery is defective. It does. not. work. It is now December 10, 2025. I have a $20,000 battery sitting installed in my garage--completely useless--while I'm paying a loan on it. Every time we reach out, we're told the same thing: "It's under investigation." Their technicians have been back to my house three times since the initial installation, and nothing has changed. This has been the worst customer service and follow-up experience I have ever had. No accountability. No urgency. No solutions. Just endless runaround while I'm stuck with a defective battery they sold and installed. To be clear: the contractors and receptionist have all been friendly and seem just as confused as I am. The failure here is entirely on ES Solar's inability--or unwillingness--to replace a faulty battery and make things right. I strongly urge anyone considering this company to look elsewhere. If anything goes wrong, you may end up in the same situation: paying for an expensive system that doesn't work, with no clear answers and no resolution in sight. read more

Originally asked for sufficient solar to take us off grid with no budgetary limit. Gave them a summer electrical bill and they consulted with their engineers to come up with how many panels we should get. We purchased 2 power walls in addition to their recommended panel count. They say their engineering dept is adept at calculating the needs of a home, but do not trust them. Their estimate for our panels is woefully short and is not enough to fill up our batteries, so the money we spent on them is wasted. I have spent months trying to talk to them about the problem and they Continually drop the ball. Zero communication for weeks at a time. Time will tell but so far our experience, including numerous unwarranted and unprofessional installer outbursts, damage to our home, and technical disasters during installation are enough for me to post the review to warn other consumers. I'll change the review if my experience changes, but our year with them has been poor by any standard. read more

I had solar panels and battery installed in Sept. 2025. It's been both good and bad. When everything is working properly, it works great; however, the battery has had glitches from the beginning. The company knows about it and has promised a fix for 5 months! Any glitch that happens gives me the red ring of death and getting it fixed is a huge joke! Before I paid off my system, they were all over it, now that it's paid I wait wait wait. My system is down for weeks once it's down and it drives me crazy. This has been agravating and stressful! I thought this would be a good investment. This was a lot of money. Is anyone else considering a class action lawsuit?? They are still selling these "new and great" batteries to people and know that there are issues. I am tired of calling and calling and waiting days/weeks to get everything back working well. They can only band aid the issues since there is some sort of problem. Hind site is 20/20, probably should have just kept my savings account instead of using it for this!! For the last few days I've been calling, I get put in the queue and nobody calls back. I was told last week they would open a ticket and get someone out here again, but I keep calling since I have still not heard anything. read more

They were nice until I cancelled and then they be came nasty! So the first they were charging me 1500.00 for permits that were only 110.00 and the bill was 2,515.00. Then I told them that it was ridiculous and that I wanted to see and itemize bill. So then they sent me bill for 875.00. Measurements (Enhanced) for 500.00. That's 250.00 hour, you know they don't pay them that! Then at the end I get charged again for NET METERING FEES 65.00. Bottom line they OVER CHARGER for everything. If you are dealing with them I definitely would price out other company's for price GOUGING! This what kind of people your working with at the bottom of this it says You're rolling now - got any more to add? Be careful if you like to be over charged for services then these people are the ones for you. Just remember they come across very nice but they are a nasty bunch of over priced ASSWOLE's. Lousy company. The hardware they sell is warrantied, but to get them to check out problems with an already-installed system is like pulling teeth. So far I'm at three days of calling and leaving messages to no avail. They said someone would come out and would contact me to schedule, then they put me on the do not answer list. This is a nightmare you will not wake up from. There is no "rebate". It's a tax credit you likely will not get a fraction of what's promised. Your payment will therefore not go down, but up. You'll pay more, owe more, and not be able to do anything about it. We have water damage in our attic from their installation and our external electrical has not worked, nor can it be fixed because it's with/behind(?) their box. We want to sell our home to get out from this nightmare but it's killed our equity (it's a lien/2nd mortgage) and we have to deal with major repairs. Upon contacting them again, and them finally routing me to someone who took my call, they say that our only recourse to pursue legal action against them, which they claim to be very insulated with. read more

My experience with ES Solar has been nothing short of disastrous, leading me to warn others about what they might expect when dealing with this company. Some of the major issues I have faced: - Lack of Transparency in Billing: I requested an itemized receipt for my solar battery installation, only to be met with refusal after refusal. ES Solar claims to prioritize "100% customer satisfaction", yet they couldn't provide a simple breakdown of costs, which I need for insurance purposes and personal financial management. Their explanation was that they price systems as a whole, not by components, They state that all the government requires for the rebate is a lump sum, so that is all they provide. Which, for me, raises questions about the integrity of their pricing, particularly given how those government rebates could incentivize price inflation. I stress that is only my personal speculation and not an accusation. Rather just a potential concern based on the opacity of their practices. What exactly are they trying to hide? - Premature Payment Demands: Despite a contract specifying payment upon completion, ES Solar demanded payment on the installation day when the system was not fully operational, still requiring city and utility inspections. This felt like a breach of contract, especially since I had already paid a significant $5,000 deposit months earlier. To add insult to injury, their invoice, included Net 30 terms, yet they insisted on payment before the listed due date, blatantly disregarding their own set terms. - Data Loss and Technical Oversight: During the installation, a new inverter was put in, and 8 years of historical data from my old inverter was lost. When I brought this up, I was dismissively told to contact Solar Edge. Upon doing so, I learned that ES Solar should have transferred this data - a basic step they overlooked. - Ongoing Technical Issues: To further compound the issues, I discovered that my system details show that the old inverter is still connected, causing errors in the app about an unsupported leader/follower configuration on the inverters - despite only having one inverter installed. This not only affects the functionality but also reflects poorly on ES Solar's attention to detail and the lack of customer support post-installation (I have called many times about this, and all I get is a voicemail). I am currently in discussions with one of their salesmen to expand my system by adding 8 more panels, but the lack of transparency and these ongoing issues have made me seriously reconsider continuing business with ES Solar. For anyone considering this company, I hope that your experience is better than mine was. However, be prepared for a frustrating lack of transparency, potential contractual breaches, and technical oversights that can compromise your system's performance and your trust in the service provided. read more

ES Solar installed our solar system including the battery. I wasn't thrilled when it was necessary to call the office, but when I had to, I was well received and even though I had to push them, the response was almost immediate. I do have to give kudos to the team that installed my system. They were very polite, on time, cleaned up and very professional and of course knowledgeable. They were a pleasure to work with. They answered all of my ignorant questions with respect and patience. The after installation was great too. It took a lot of red tape to get this done and a great deal of time as well, but from what I have been told from others in a different state, our experience was actually normal. It just takes time. Do your homework people and get a second opinion. We were quoted over 80k for solar and told that our roof could not hold enough solar to supply our usage. The owner could not break down labor costs and material costs for us. Red Flag. Seems like they charge whatever they feel. He even mentioned that his cousin in another state made over a million dollars off his solar. In 2020 we got a question for 20k. What is up with these companies price gouging?! Horrible, anything that could go wrong has gone wrong. First of all I installed my system in October 2020. I have dealt with multiple roof leaks due to a rush install job that even the city of Syracuse would not approve. I have had two faulty inverters and most recently 8 panels defective of my 24 panels that I found was having an issue of not producing power since February ( today it's October) and they said they monitored my system. Each time there's been a problem, I was the one that has brought it to their attention. I strongly suggest anybody to feel free and reach out to me and I have so much more I can share. The latest with the faulty panels, 16 working panels out of 24, their customer service contact (name withheld )told me that even though I had eight nonfunctional panels, that I was still within their policy regarding performance. How is that possible when I only had 66% of my potential power being harnessed from the sun when I could've capitalized 33% more and got what I was financed in paying for.? What are these people thinking,? They're expecting me to be happy with a partially working system that when it was finally remedied, eight months later, their own technician stated that it was a bad installation by their own people. I do intend to take all of the information, including all of the email correspondence, and all of the problems that I've had with this company and take that to an attorney. There are better companies out there that care about their people. Do not use ES solar. read more
