He then showed me the various systems he had checked as well as the results. He ended up placing a new valve on the overflow system. He cleaned up the work area when he was done. He also took $50.00 off the quoted estimate and charged me $200.00. I found Khuma to be polite, and concerned. He did a quick dusting of the unit which hadn't been serviced in a while and even went to the roof as a part of his diagnosis. After sticking around for a couple hours trying to find the source of the problem, I was mentally preparing myself to pay a diagnosis and service fee, but there was no such thing. What signaled to me Ricardo was top notch was the fact that this man lives in Baltimore, easily a 50-minute commute from where I was in DC. He didn't leave until I was satisfied with his work until 930PM on a FRIDAY night. This type of service is difficult if not impossible to find. Ricardo patiently explained what the problem was, why I wouldn't have working AC after he would leave, and what my options were.
