I called them out for an inspection, and all I wanted was one thing: a quote. I simply needed a quote for a heating/cooling system for a small room. I was told three separate times I would receive a quote, and I never did. If a company isn't capable of taking 10 minutes to send you a quote for work, then they're obviously not interested in the business. I wish they would have told me that from the start, so I wasn't wasting over a week waiting for something that I was told three times was going to arrive. read more

Our heater stopped working so I placed an order through our home warranty on January 3. I had to reach out to Mike a couple of times before he came out to the house on January 8. When he showed up I kindly asked him if he could put on bootie covers (we have a baby and his boots were dirty with old mud on them, but either way I should be able to ask and have always asked workers without any issues). His response was that he will be going back and forth from our attic and to outside (through the house). I just said okay but he eventually put some on. After looking at our heater he said he would need to request authorization from the home warranty company to fix the heater and that they usually authorize it and after authorization, getting parts, and installation we would have heat the following week. Well, 6 days after he came out (12 days without heat now) I hadn't heard anything so I reached out to follow up and he says "oh my parts guy just got back to me (6 days later? Yeah right) and I might have to come back to take some measurements for a new furnace. I would get some space heaters." Are you kidding me? So he hadn't even requested authorization from the warranty company to repair our heater 6 days after coming out to the house. I asked him if he could take the measurements that day if he needed them and he said he couldn't because he was in Porterville. The next day I reached out again to ask if he needs to come by for the measurements and he said he STILL has to do research on it. So one week after he came by and he has sat on this the entire time, while we are without heat?? And then he tells me it's going to take weeks more? I'm sure it would have been even longer than that if I hadn't followed up with him and had continued business with him. I asked to be transferred to another heating company who would actually take care of their customers in a timely manner. He mockingly told me he'd request I get someone willing to wear bootie covers. That's just unacceptable and really bad business. He had an overall rude and arrogant demeanor the entire time dealing with him, and if you want someone who respects your time and your property I would not use him. What a waste of being without heat for two weeks, with a baby on top of that. He didn't care one bit. Save yourself the time and stress and avoid Mike and his company. Use someone who will get the job done, with follow through and honesty. read more

Got home from work and it was 85 in the house and 100 outside. Home warranty company had me jumping through hoops and earliest appointment I could get was four days out... One of those folks recommended I give Mike at Empire a ring. Mike was here in less than two hours and had us up and running before dinner. I would give this guy A BIG FAT ZERO if I could. I was at my brothers house so someone would be available when Empire was scheduled to come out. This guy takes the filter out and told me I had to put it back!!!! Seriously. I'm a Registered Nurse not to mention I didn't live there. I'm a 54 year old female. If I hadn't learned to replace a filter by now, I guess I never wanted to. I hate to play the race card,BUT. Mike was dispatched by our home warranty due to our AC no longer cooling while 105 degrees outside. He gave me 3 day waiting estimate due to backlog, but texted me to let me know he could stop by a day early at the end of his shift which we really appreciated. He showed up wearing a mask for safety, was very courteous and professional while repairing our AC unit. He said to text/call him directly if we had problems again. 5 star service and this is rare when dealing with warranty techs sometimes. He's great! Very nice, and he explains to you exactly what is going on with your air unit, and lets you know all possible options to fix it. His prices are affordable and he works fairly quick. When you are having a problem with your AC, he'll schedule you in as quickly as possible. He came over the day as I called him! Five stars are not enough! So, I get a call from a tenant that the A/C won't cool. I call my home warranty to schedule a service call. After the run-around with them, I went to Yelp! and read reviews on several companies. I called Empire Heating and Cooling and Mike answered. I told him my issue and, with the full schedule that he had, he squeezed me in and was out first thing in the morning. Not only did he fix the problem to the tune of very happy tenants, but he told me what I could expect from this unit in the future. Saving me a bundle he worked his magic and kept this unit running for the foreseeable future. You can bet he's in my contacts under Honest and Reliable! At first contact I was very pleased with the response of the tech I talked to have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow which is amazing considering the heat out I will follow up with a further review once my issue is handled but from what Ive heard so far they will nail it cant wait to meet this guy and see what he has to say about my a/c system. SO this company came out ON time the repair technician was friendly and extremely through, after a complete system check he found my problem that NO ONE before him could ever figure out and he proved it and explained everything this tech is an excellent diagnostician he had my a/c blowing cold but we need to replace a TXV valve to make the system rock solid which I have absolutely no problem doing his price is way above fair the service call is very competitively priced and I couldn't be happier you know a/c is scary because we all think its going to cost thousands of dollars to repair a/c units when in reality if you find a GOOD diagnostician it can be a simple service ect.. Ill up date once the rest of the work is done. Well yesterday 6/26/2019 I had Mike back out to repair the initial problem I was having with my a/c and I am extremely impressed with this company not only was everything explained in detail I was allowed to watch and learn, which is huge in my book, the repair was done and my a/c is blowing so cold its insane Ive had an on going problem for about 2 years now with no explanation from anyone before why I was having the problem I was having no one could diagnose it but this company did they are as through as anyone Ive ever seen and I was happy to pay for my repairs. Not to many people are happy or want to have a/c work done but this company explains so much that after its fixed you cant help but be happy to pay, now I do not have to worry anymore when the summer is coming whats going to happen next with my a/c because it was repaired CORRECTLY with proof.
