Empire Cuts is our go to spot for my son's haircuts and somehow I have never written a review. This is the year I catch up on writing long overdue reviews. Ha. I use to take my youngest to a nicer salon in Weston but the cost for a kid's haircut got way too pricey. My sister is a professional hairstylist and will cut our family's hair whenever we see her. Unfortunately, she lives in Atlanta. I would usually pay attention to kids with great haircuts and ask where they go. One of our friends recommended Empire Cuts and said they see the owner, Julio. First time here, we tried to make an appt with Julio but he was booked. He's quite popular. No sweat, they were able to accommodate us with someone else. Since we were new to Empire Cuts at the time, we weren't picky. We are regulars here now and I have to say we have been here about 15 or more times and these guys are always so good with my son! I love whenever he gets a fresh cut! A good haircut makes all the difference. Our schedules are usually crazy with the kids so I never really had a set barber to make appointments with. Several of them would give us their cards but honestly, it was so much easier to just to walk in and play it by ear. Haha. Julio has a fully staffed crew of barbers here that hustle and do a great job and I think we've seen almost everyone by now. So they are all pretty good. More recently, we started seeing Steven as our regular Barber. He's great and so good at trying to be consistent getting us to holler at him for appointments. Eventually we did and it worked out great. Steven is the BEST with my son and always so personable with him. I love that he chit chats with him and it's so sweet. He's also good about checking in when we haven't been by in a while. Kid was trying to grow his hair out towards end of the year. He eventually decided to get a fresh cut for the new year in 2025. Haha. The barber shop is super clean and all of the guys here are great. They are consistently busy but can almost always accommodate walk-ins. We pay via Square with the individual barbers and tip accordingly. We've been coming here for over 2 years now and I think we paid $25 + tip. Pricing increased a little bit and we now pay $30 + tip. Still a great price for quality haircuts. They just opened a new and smaller location, Empire Cuts 2, at the corner of Stirling and Pine Island. In the same plaza with Litchi Delights and Tijuana Flats. Great consistent experience here. Check them out if you're looking for a good barber. Keep up the good work Julio. I unfortunately cannot remember the name of my Barber but I called on Friday night and needed to get in first thing the next day. The person I spoke to (I believe the owner) was very accommodating and got me in right at 9am when they opened. My barber spent about an hour on my hair which normally takes about 20-30 minutes which was awesome. Amazing attention to detail and he checked in with me several times throughout the process. Going to a new barber can be a stressful experience but it was very laid back here. I dont live in Miami but do visit often and will be back in if I ever need a haircut again while im there. First time there, everyone was very respectful. I've been to many barbers at different locations it's hard to find one that basically gives you the perfect haircut. Nico cut my hair and I am extremely satisfied with his skills and interpersonal skills. We got our son's hair cut here and it was ok. The guy that cut his hair didn't really know how to talk to children and tried to treat him like an adult. I don't know if they get a lot of young boys in this shop and thus, I don't necessarily fault him. The haircut itself was decent. It wasn't the best one he has received; however, it wasn't the worst. The price of the haircut was fairly competitive with other barber shops. I just feel that there are better and more friendly barber shops out there for kids. In a pinch, this was fine. I think we will continue to take him to other barbers shops that specialize in kids haircuts. read more

My sons new haircut spot. I've been taking my son to multiple places since he turned one and I decided he needed a haircut. I first took him to his dads barber who did not want to scare him so decided to cut his hair in some spots and not in other. It was worse than when we came and by the end of the week I just couldn't take it anymore and ended up taking him to a children's place. At the children's place with the bribe of a lollipop and seating in one of those car shaped chairs he let a women cut his hair and or cake out acceptable at least but still not amazing. After than I tried two other children spots but quickly realized that the women there can only give mediocre cuts. This time I wanted an actual barbershop and looked for one on yelp. This Gentleman's shop came up with good reviews and being ridiculously close to my house I decided to give it a try. I talked to my son all day letting him know we were going somewhere for a haircut later and he actually started to seem excited about it, until we got there. We walked in and he told me Mommy no haircut lol. Thankfully they took care of us right away even though I did not have an appointment. I picked the haircut off this poster of kids haircuts that they have posted on the wall. I thought the availability to trendy haircuts was awesome since I never know just quite what to ask for. The barber, whose name I specifically asked for twice and still forgot smh, was really nice and patient with my son. Although, quite honestly he didn't have much to deal with since Angel surprised the hell out of me by acting like a complete, well dare I say it, Angel! He took about 40-45 minutes cutting his hair and I loved how detailed he was. He used the machines and scissors and I love how it came out. He put gel at the end and combed it all facing forward which I did NOT love but I knew I could fix it. So the presentation wasn't the greatest but the cut was! And it only cost $13! Hooray! With tip I still paid less than those horrendous kids cut places. At the end they also gave him a dog shaped balloon which i thought was very sweet and thoughtful of them. Also for the first time since I've been getting Angels haircut our whole family was pleased by the results. They usually welcome me with glares lol read more

Lou helped me trim my beard and hair superbly! Could not be happier. He took a lot of time and was a perfectionist. He said he had the skills and it proved to be true. Trimmed beard and gave several options, also did hair as well and all in all was a real jungle. Lou has before and after photos on his Instagram. Beards are in right now and a lot of people are going to need them trimmed pretty soon. I would recommend that you go to see Lou and the fellas at Gentlemans cuts because they definitely have the skills that can take care of you. I wish I would've read the comments prior to going! Nico was my barber today and yet again another unhappy customer. I asked for a mid-low fade and he nearly gave a freaking high and tight from the military. And to make matters worse it's uneven in the back. It goes from faded to straight dark with a good length of hair. He asked if I wanted him to fix it and I said no because your going to throw off the entire fade and it's going to look worse. He does "oh yeah in that spot I went straight up with the clippers so the hair wouldn't stand up ". I was like well yeah well that's why I asked for a mid-low fade because I have a molino there. Now the other end will be standing straight up like alfalfa till my hair grows back. Definitely won't be going back. read more

I just went there to get a simple clean up on my feed for the sides and back. I specifically told the gentleman that I've been growing my hair out not to cut any of the hair on the top and to stop the food at a certain point on the back of my head. Towards the very end he grab scissors and clippers for the back of my hair I again said no cutting my hair on the back he said you simply cleaning up the fade. The moment he started with the clipper I could feel it on the back of my hair and had him stop. He did exactly what I asked him not to do and reiterated it several times. Walk in - greeted by some barbers shooting the shit and talking shop, wearing the newest dropped Yeezy's/Airforce 1's. Notice the cheesy motivational posters lining the walls. Sit in the chair. Receive and epic haircut. I'm a big city guy but come home to the Coop from time to time. Where I live, $75 is the norm for a hair cut, trim up/shave/edge, and general other grooming (eyebrows etc). You know what? $20 at this place. $20 freaking dollars. At that point I feel that I am literally hemorrhaging money from this place. I am VERY particular with my hair and have had only 5 star experiences here. This place has a super chill vibe and everyone is over the top friendly. It might be intimidating at first - but come here with out an attitude and go with the flow and you'll truly maximize the experience. Don't come expecting an uber mens luxe salon - you are coming to an old school barbershop with new school cats cutting hair. I've been four times and different barbers each time. Each one of them has some serious clipper/scissor skills. Don't worry if your regular guy is busy as your in good hands with anyone else. All in all I will ALWAYS come back here every-time I visit. Really great first time experience. We originally just walked in to sit and watch because we've had some traumatic hair cuts in the past. We have been going to kids hair cut salons and they are hit or miss. We've walked out with some pretty awful, crooked haircuts that has kept us from getting a haircut at all the last 5 months. Someone suggested a barber shop so I looked up all the ones in my area and this one had pics of boys with long hair. We sat to watch, and Jose insisted he would just trim my sons hair and shape it a bit. I must admit, I was worried for another tragic haircut and months of bad pics and trying to hide my sons hair under a hat. Jose was great though! Very friendly, very fast, very talented! Tonight I took my wife and her parents to dinner as my wife is having surgery tomorrow morning. As we were talking, she said she would rather have the small part of her head that needs to be shaved done by a barber rather than hospital staff. We we're frantically trying to find a shop that was open when we found one gentlemens cuts in Cooper city. We explained to Jose what we needed done. He saw how distressed my wife was about having part of her head shaved. We explained that it was for a surgery. When I asked him how much it would cost, he said in Spanish "this is our way of blessing you before your surgery". We were all taken back. They were so genuinely happy to help us for free.
