It's always intimidating going to a new shop cause you never know what you're going to get and reviews can be misleading. Overall the people there are nice and they accept walk ins. But I got the easiest cut. All I wanted was my taper to be cleaned up. Nothing else. Keep it soft edges and natural. I got to my car and the sideburn area was 1.5 cm longer on one side. Super uneven. I went in and the guy fixed it but he tried to act like that was "natural". This isn't my first time. I know what lack of attention to details and carelessness look like. He didn't even check to see if they were even. Apparently that cut would have been 30. First time was 25. But considering how little I asked cut. Very surprising. Disappointing. Won't be back.

They have about 14 barbers, whom are all probably between the ages of 21-38, and they attract a younger crowd. So, they must be doing something right. I had to wait only a few minutes and I found out you can book your appointment online. My haircut was $30 and I gave my barber a $5 tip. I think $30 is expensive, especially given how much hair I have, but the quality and neatness of the cut was excellent. I'll be back. They do have a senior citizens special, $20, and other special prices for certain demographics.

I use to take my youngest to a nicer salon in Weston but the cost for a kid's haircut got way too pricey. My sister is a professional hairstylist and will cut our family's hair whenever we see her. Unfortunately, she lives in Atlanta. I would usually pay attention to kids with great haircuts and ask where they go. One of our friends recommended Empire Cuts and said they see the owner, Julio. First time here, we tried to make an appt with Julio but he was booked. He's quite popular. No sweat, they were able to accommodate us with someone else. Since we were new to Empire Cuts at the time, we weren't picky. We are regulars here now and I have to say we have been here about 15 or more times and these guys are always so good with my son! I love whenever he gets a fresh cut! A good haircut makes all the difference. Our schedules are usually crazy with the kids so I never really had a set barber to make appointments with. Several of them would give us their cards but honestly, it was so much easier to just to walk in and play it by ear. Haha. Julio has a fully staffed crew of barbers here that hustle and do a great job and I think we've seen almost everyone by now. So they are all pretty good. More recently, we started seeing Steven as our regular Barber. He's great and so good at trying to be consistent getting us to holler at him for appointments. Eventually we did and it worked out great. Steven is the BEST with my son and always so personable with him. I love that he chit chats with him and it's so sweet. He's also good about checking in when we haven't been by in a while. Kid was trying to grow his hair out towards end of the year. He eventually decided to get a fresh cut for the new year in 2025. Haha. The barber shop is super clean and all of the guys here are great. They are consistently busy but can almost always accommodate walk-ins. We pay via Square with the individual barbers and tip accordingly. We've been coming here for over 2 years now and I think we paid $25 + tip. Pricing increased a little bit and we now pay $30 + tip. Still a great price for quality haircuts. They just opened a new and smaller location, Empire Cuts 2, at the corner of Stirling and Pine Island. In the same plaza with Litchi Delights and Tijuana Flats. Great consistent experience here. Check them out if you're looking for a good barber. Keep up the good work Julio. Stellar service all around.

The person I spoke to (I believe the owner) was very accommodating and got me in right at 9am when they opened. My barber spent about an hour on my hair which normally takes about 20-30 minutes which was awesome. Amazing attention to detail and he checked in with me several times throughout the process. Going to a new barber can be a stressful experience but it was very laid back here. I dont live in Miami but do visit often and will be back in if I ever need a haircut again while im there. Thanks!

One star. The paper neck strip was wrapped just a little too tightly for comfort. The barber asked…read morewhether I wanted a "number two on the sides." When I said I didn't know what that meant, I clearly explained that I wanted a neat, traditional businessman's haircut--not extremely short and not a boot-camp cut. He cut virtually everything with electric clippers, including the top, running them over my head like a lawnmower. He trimmed my eyebrows aggressively with the clippers and did not do any final snipping with scissors. After removing the neck strip, he trimmed the back again, allowing loose hair to fall down my shirt. I was getting out of the chair in less than 10 minutes. What bothered me most was that he did not use a razor to clean up around my ears or neck. In all my years of going to barbershops, I have experienced that only once before, at another place calling itself a barbershop. It is something I normally associate with a styling salon rather than a traditional barbershop. I cannot speak to this person's licensing, but the experience left me wondering. This felt like a rushed, assembly-line clipper cut--not professional barbering. It was the second-worst haircut I've had since my actual boot-camp haircut. If you want a traditional barber's haircut with proper scissor and razor finishing, ask questions before sitting in the chair. I will not return.

When I asked why, the clerk told me it was because the barber "had to cut more." This was absolutely ridiculous!
