This thick corn cake was fried to a crispy light golden brown crust with a moist and tender very sweet interior. It was topped with melted cheese (queso a mano) or white mozzarella. It also was covered with a fairly tender layer of barbecued beef plus slices of fresh avocado. Big serving - big flavor. Also grabbed a half dozen "Colombian" style empanadas (2 of each type: chicken, beef, or cheese.) Well cooked, slightly thick cornmeal crust and amply filled. These came with garlic-forward Colombian "Aji picante." Many more Latin dishes to explore on another visit.

I've been trying to find a way to put in orders ahead of time in hopes of saving time. Pickup orders sometimes require a lengthy wait! I've tried calling ahead but, again, limited staff, so no one ever answers. Their online pickup ordering system charges a $3.00 fee which is above and beyond the tip. Wish that wasn't the case but if $3 saves 30 minutes of wait time, I guess it's worth it!

Included in our order was a container of salsa and a bag of perfectly crisped tortilla chips. We loved this addition and surprise! The area of this restaurant was super festive with all the Christmas lights and decor. There is a center with a tree, and we will return to explore it as well as a full dining experience.
