Though not perfect, you can get a great experience of Cuban food coming to Back to Cuba. Some suggestions I would like to share is that croquetas shouldn't be just an appetizer, but should be able to buy them individually. What makes Miami Cuban food so great is being able to order an espresso with 2 croquetas. The croquetas should also come with lime, a must! Instead I was brought ketchup. Pastelitos are listed as a dessert but it's really a pastry people would order as an appetizer or with their coffee, as well. Rice and beans were spot on! Lechón and yuca had the right flavors, just needed more of it. Overall, a great experience to make me feel back at home

Spoiler alert. We were not let down. We started with the grilled octopus, which was excellent, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. For my entree I had the lomo saltado with beef, and the flavors were excellent across the board, that classic Peruvian stir fry hitting all the right notes. The sauce alone was worthy of a take home box. On the drink side, the pisco martini was a great pairing with the meal and a fun way to lean into the Peruvian specialties. The atmosphere is lively and energetic, which made the whole evening feel like an occasion rather than just dinner out. Parking was easy with a private lot right behind the restaurant. This one is a great addition to the East Nashville food scene and well worth the visit.

My partner and I visited on a Friday evening around 7:30pm and it wasn't overly crowded (it was also raining...so take that into account). They came out hot and fresh with the perfect blend of soft, flavorful inside and crisp exterior. This was my first time trying baleada, a popular El Salvadorian comfort food. It was very satisfying and quite large: a soft flour tortilla with refried beans, eggs, and meat. The star of the show (aside from the Pupusa) was the beef tacos. These were flavor bombs with a nice char on the meat. Will order again. The staff was friendly and their offer their menu in Spanish and English. We tried the Birria Trio (chicken, beef, lamb) tacos. All were great but the lamb was my favorite. It's a little more fatty ans softer. The beef and chicken were great as well. We also tried the Birria Ramen which i thought was great. They provide a good amount of beef and the broth is rich and flavorful. The pizza was bit too cheesy for me but I love trying new things so Im glad I did. We were told that they experiment and rotate different fun birra specials often. The salsas are all great. I like the spicy which has strong garlic and very unique flavor to it. The avocado salsa also stood out, almost a guac like flavor. All sauces were very unique and amazing.
