He proceeds to change it anyway and charge me for the part and labor which came to several hundred dollars that I shouldn't have had to spend, all the while being extremely rude and holding my vehicle until it was paid. Would never recommend this shop to anyone and will never be going back after receiving this treatment. Do yourself a favor and find another shop.
