1/2 classic, 1/2 pepperoni bacon and sausage
Melissa C.

This pizza is AMAZING! If you're looking for something different than chain pizza delivery or your traditional pizza, this is it! Emmy Squared serves Detroit-style pizza, which is square with a super thick crust. I was getting my order to-go. Suzy took my order and she was super nice and helped accommodate a dietary restriction. I went with the Classic for my half of the pizza, to start with a classic since I've never been here before and have only had Detroit-style pizza once before. It was anything but plain! I couldn't stop talking about AMAZING their sauce is. I don't think I've ever had pizza before where the sauce was that notable, but theirs is honestly incredible. The thick, soft crust was really good, too, and it's filling without leaving you feeling bloated. My husband and I split a large, which was plenty and allowed for leftovers. The restaurant is decorated with little toy dinosaurs which they somehow managed to do tastefully, and it's so fun and cute.

We've been struggling to find a good Detroit Style pizza, so when we tried Emmy Squared we were pleasantly surprised. We stopped in for lunch and started off with the mozzarella sticks. They were great! Really good flavor and nice "cheese pull". We split a large pizza, half Hawaiian and half margherita. SO DELICIOUS. We had plenty of leftovers for dinner later on and they pizza was even better as "leftovers". Service was good, restaurant was modern and cozy. Price was reasonable considering the amount of food you received. We will be back!

Stopped in for lunch on a quiet day Service was quick and cheerful Our food was great. My Ceasar Salad was delicious, Like I like it, with honest anchovies, and lots of crisp lettuce My partner's Nashville Chicken Sandwich was also really food. Real chicken! Best of all, it's the first time I've been in a restaurant recently and was pleasantly surprised by the check. Very reasonable prices.

We originally had expected to go to dinner at a neighboring restaurant who had a 30 min wait. We could see that Emmy Squared had seats available, so we walked over. We inquired about their gluten free dough. They double checked and assured one was available. We ordered the Caesar salad which arrived tossed (a bit salty but very good dressing) and a Brussels Sprouts Salad. To my surprise our 1YO liked them both. We also ordered the Butternut Squash & Brussels. Tastes much better than it looks. Great flavor. Finally we got our pizzas. We got the Angel Pizza, the Classic pizza (with pepperoni), and our gluten free friend had the Good Paulie Pizza. All washed down with a bottle of Chianti. We will be back!

We came to meet friends for an early dinner here. The relatively new restaurant has only been open for about six months. It's part of a small chain -- Nashville, Atlanta, New York, et al -- that features Detroit pizzas and burgers. They have some outdoor seating, but we chose to sit inside. At the early hour we came, we had our choice of seats. Our server, Rico, was very good and patient with all our questions. My husband and I started off by sharing a Caesar salad. It was very good. A tasty dressing and yes, anchovies (which we like). After that, we shared the Angel pizza. This square shaped Detroit style pizza was nicely crisped on all the edges. The regular (small) sized one comes cut into six pieces. After the salad, we actually took one piece home (great breakfast the next day!). The Angel is a white pizza with ricotta topped with fresh mushrooms and a mushroom "cream". And I liked the pizza, as well. Realizing that I'm a New Haven apizza gal, that says a lot since thin and crispy are my usual favorites. Our friends each ordered their own pizzas -- each with different toppings. I couldn't believe he ordered pickles!! I'm not that adventurous. We didn't do the dessert brownie -- although it sounded interesting. Right now, that's the only dessert they offer. Just a note on the decor. If you look around, the walls have little dinosaur statues on them. And there are some other dinosaur pictures and chinaware. Your kids would have fun finding them all. I asked Rico about it, and he said they were just for decoration, but that the owner just really likes dinosaurs! Too cute... And yes, we'd like to return. Their burgers are served on pretzel buns and the reviews sound intriguing. Plus, that brownie might call my name sometime...

I found out about this spot at the Visit Lauderdale food and wine festival. I got to try the pizza there, so on this trip I wanted to try their famous burger. It was very quiet on a Saturday night. We got a nice table outside, the inside was really nice too, but it was very quiet. They have a decent menu of pizzas and sandwiches, some beer and wine, and mocktails. Service was good, and everything came out quick and hot. Our server warned us that the sandwich portions were really big and told us we shouldn't finish them, which was interesting to hear, no one has ever told me not to finish my meal because it was too big. I finished it regardless. It was actually a good size, and I was hungry. The burger was very good. I can see what the hype is about. The chicken parm sandwich was pretty tasty, too. We opted to get it with vodka sauce instead. We also got a side of fries, which was a reasonable portion size. Nothing was too big, and if you're hungry, you can definitely finish. I think the prices were average, typical of what you'd find going out to dinner these days. The sandwiches ranged from about $15-$20. The pizzas were about the same. I'd definitely go back to try more pizza. They had some interesting flavor concoctions. I hope this place does well, with a very nice ambiance and tasty food options.

We went as a big group but we had made reservations. They still forgot one of our orders. The server was doing the best they could but I think there was only one server for our big group. The food was okay. Nothing really stood out to me. It's just a pizza place.

Giving it a 4, but it's a 4.5! Our first time visiting and we were so impressed with the decor and the layout. We also liked they offered dining al fresco. We've seen a few places come and go at this real estate, so we hope they stay! We ordered the wings as an appetizer and shared the regular pepperoni pizza. Everything came out at once as there was some miscommunication with the kitchen staff, but no big deal. The food was great! I loved how the wings weren't breaded and good amount of meat on them. The pizza was delicious! Service was fast and friendly. We saw that their burgers won awards, so we'll definitely be back to give those a try...and order more pizza! Maybe a full liquor bar is in the future! Best of luck, Emmy Squared! Welcome to the neighborhood!

Cheesy Garlic Sticks

After being recommended by a co-worker, I decided to give Emmy Square Pizza a try since it's across the street from my house. The restaurant decor and ambience is very nice and gives the space a nice atmosphere. With that said I was not super impressed by it. I have seen in another review someone saying that the waitress was emotionless and I laughed but now I get exactly what that person meant lol, even though she provided a decent service. I ordered a diet coke but didn't like the fact that they only sell it in small glass coke bottles and each one is $3. I think it should be either listed in the menu or informed by the waitress. To start we ordered the Cheesy Garlic Sticks, which comes with 6 breadsticks with a parsley pesto and a spicy tomato sauce. It was pretty delicious and the sauce is not spicy at all. We then ordered the regular Roni Supreme Pizza, which gives you 6 slices of a deep dish pizza style. This is a red sauce pizza with mozzarella, pepperoni and calabrian chili. Even though the menu lists the Calabrian chili, it does not state the pizza is spicy. So beware of it because it's extremely spicy and I have a pretty good tolerance for spicy food. I thought the spiciness of the pizza just made all the other ingredients tasteless.

Built my own vegan Pizza
Angie R.

Oh my gosh! I always get excited when Fort Lauderdale gets a cute new spot that also offers vegan stuff it's a super cute place! Their crust is "thick" but not obnoxious. And just the right amount of crunch. They offer two sizes. I got the regular for a personal, and had two slices left over. Grateful for their vegan crust and vegan cheese option. And I built my own and selected my own toppings. I paired it with the Caramel Road Chardonnay, it was great! Service, our server was great! Kitchen was a little slow, given there was only two tables at the time. But, overall great experience!

Le big Matt - one of the best burgers I've ever had.
Carlos M.

They were so close to a perfect 5. The place itself is so nice. I love the location and the vibe inside. The service we received was pretty good. The young lady was very friendly but I think she might have been a bit overwhelmed. She provided pretty decent recommendations. We tried - Cheesy garlic sticks - Six large cheesy garlic breadsticks with parsley pesto, spicy tomato dipping sauce. These were really good. They were drenched in olive oil, which I dont' mind. Ours were a tad bit overdone but still good and tasty. Would have been perfect if they had just a bit more cheese and perhaps a bit less oil. 4/5 ($11) Le big Matt burger- 1/2 lb double-stack grass fed beef, american cheese, sammy sauce, greens & pickles. This was excellent. Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had in my entire life, if not the best. It was cooked to perfection. The meat had a nice char on the outside and was perfectly cooked medium on the inside. The sauce was so tasty. My only gripe is it doesn't come with a side but I'll overlook that since it was so good. 5/5 ($17) Roni supreme pizza - Red sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, calabrian chili. This is where things went downhill for us and the only reason I'm knocking a star. This pizza had potential but the final result was not good. It was way overcooked. It lacked cheese. It lacked pepperoni. It was overwhelmingly drenched in the Calabrian chili. We each had one slice which felt like a chore to eat. I usually don't do this but I sent the rest back and the manager thankfully comped it. 1/5 ($24) I also tried some of their sangria which I wasn't crazy about and it felt overpriced. That burger is still calling my name but I'd make more of an effort to return had the pizza been equally as good. Perhaps it was an off day? Either way they have other items on the menu that seem really good. Overall, I would definitely recommend anyone to come here and try that amazing burger... but based on my experience, skip out on the pizza.

Take out order - Margherita pizza topped basil leaves on each slice.
Miriam R.

We have ordered take out twice and have not been disappointed. We ordered a basic Margherita pizza and the presentation was beautiful. The staff has been attentive. We enjoyed watching the crew in the kitchen - no drama! A shout out to Talia - She is helpful and very pleasant. We look forward to sit down experience...soon.

They're amazing Le Big Matt with the sauce on the side
Ian S.

Finally made it and I'm so glad we did. Several of my coworkers have been and loved the food. The atmosphere is really good and the restaurant is looks great inside. We started with the red sangrias and had their cheese bread. The sangrias were very tasty little too much ice in the glass, but definitely had great flavor. The cheese bread with the tomato sauce is ridiculously good. So much flavor so much cheese, great crust. It's just really really good an item . For dinner we got their burger, and a pepperoni pizza. The burger was flavorful. The bun was so soft and their special sauce they put on it just makes it that much better. It was absolutely amazing, worth every penny, and we loved every bite. The pizza was excellent. The crust which is deep dish style was airy and had a phenomenal flavor. The sauce is not acidic and the pepperoni and cheese had a nice crust. Definitely going back to the spot . The only reason I gave them four stars, and not five is because our server, although attentive, had no expression and was emotionless. She was just there because she had to be and gave no emotion .

Sidecar Speakeasy was the play... The speakeasy entrance was hidden in a hallway you can walk right by without even noticing. I dig it. Once inside, it's dark. Most of the light is coming from the light showcasing the bottles in the bar. The seating is a little tight as they're trying to maximize space for such a small area. We visited here twice during my visit: We sat at a table and a bar. You have the perfect amount of space for your party, but you're pretty close to the next table or bar seat. No claustrophobic vibes though. All the mixologists were great during both visits. One visit, we ordered their signature cocktails from the menu. When we sat at the bar, we had the mixologist surprise with a cocktail off the menu. He just asked what kind of liquor vibe we wanted, and he took it from there. He was super creative with every cocktail which made for a great time. They stayed upon until midnight one one visit and until 1 am on the other one. Both my visits were on a weekday. For dinner, he got the honey chicken Sammy with sidewinder fries, and I went with the chimmichurri steak frites with curly fries... SO good. Everything came out piping hot, quickly, and you can tell the food and drinks are really thoughtfully crafted. What stood out most, though, was the customer service. The three main staff members Drew, Mel, and Darian (I think?) were incredible. Every single one of them went above and beyond for every guest the entire time. When we arrived, there were just a couple tables outside, but once it started raining, they seamlessly accommodated everyone inside without missing a beat. The vibe is such a cool mix, neighborhood spot meets speakeasy meets tiki with a slightly elevated feel, but still super comfortable. Everyone in the place seemed to know each other or quickly became friends. The music was great, and by 7:30 the live entertainment started, he was funny, engaging, and talented. We got there just in time to catch the tail end of happy hour for our first drink, and from there it just kept getting better. Drew, the bartender, even went out of his way to make me a specialty drink I had seen on Yelp that's no longer on the menu, such a thoughtful touch. By 7:30 on a Wednesday, the place was packed, which says everything. Exceptional service, amazing food, great drinks, and an all around fun, welcoming atmosphere. We'll absolutely be back.

To their credit, the staff handled it very professionally and took it back without any issue, which I appreciated. The rest of the table had a much better experience with their meals. The steak and salads especially got good reviews from everyone and looked very well prepared. Even though my dish missed the mark, the service and atmosphere were solid enough that I'd still consider giving eTwic another try in the future. Sometimes one item just doesn't hit, and there were definitely enough positives about the restaurant to make me curious to come back and try something different next time.
