I had an almost brand new pair of Coach boots falling apart on me. Both soles on the front were open, I had to finish my workday with them taped back together. I brought them in and instead of just gluing them back together, he did a half welt on the front of the boots. (sewed the uppers by hand to the sole) He also added another layer to the whole bottom of the soles for protection against cracking. Maybe they were knockoffs, but I love them and will take them back to him when they do need new soles. So far so good though, they should last me a few years until then. Zero star for their attitude and service. I took an expensive shoe to fix the shoe stub both husband and wife were extremely rude when i told them they didn't balance both shoes. One is wonky n I'm tripping I tried it on infront of them showed them and they kept on saying they put new stubs. And I repeatedly tried explaining that they might be new but they are not even. My first visit to Emmanel's Shoe Repair last week was a wonderful experience. I do not trust my babies (Tecovas cowboy boots) to just anyone. I live on Whidbey Island and there are no shoe repair shops except one at the north end of the island (open Thursdays only). I needed zip soles installed on my boots & Emmanuel agreed to complete that job while I drove to Sea-Tac airport and back. When I returned 2.5 hrs later my boots were done and the quality of the work was impressive to say the least. The cost was less than I expected and I will bring all of my shoe repair to Emmanuel in the future and so should you. First off, I'm a total shoe and purse collector ! I had been on the hunt for quite a while for a good shoe cobbler in the area. I Tried several close by and a few farther away, but just never found the right fit of Great customer service, price, and quality of repairs! Then I found this shop favorably touted in many people's reviews! I decided to go for it and bring by a "challenging repair" for him. The owner was friendly and asked me what I needed to fix and I showed him my Tall Leather Black with Dark Brown Colored Michael Kors Equestrian Side Zip Boots. I asked if he could repair the zipper as it had broken away from the boot shaft due to it being a little snug around my calves. Over time, the zipper had came away so I needed a replacement put in. He said the best repair would be if he re sewed the entire zipper and adjusted the placement to the shaft so it wouldn't have the same problem in the future. I said ok, let's do that. Since, he takes cash only, I gave him some money and he gave me the claim check and said that I could pay the final amount when I picked up the boots. I was interested to see what kind of quality workmanship would be required to make this happen! Well, as promised, I picked up my boots and they were beautifully repaired! He was excited to show me what he had done and that it was a real challenge to repair! I could feel his pride in his completed repair. I was amazed at his ability to make the restoration work so it would suit my needs perfectly! I had to drive a lot further than the usual neighborhood place in Mill Creek, but it was worth the drive to get better service, better workmanship and timely service. My mom has a pair of heels that needed to be repaired. The heel was worn down and that was all that needed to be fixed. First of all, viewers need to be advised that this place ONLY TAKES CASH. When we dropped off the shoe, not only did he say he takes only cash, but he expected us to put down a deposit. I've repaired many shoes at different locations and never did I have to put down a deposit. I pay when the job is done and to my liking. We didn't like the idea, but still gave this place a shot. Also, the pair of shoe was flawless. No scratches, no nothing. We came back 4 days later. As a person who has worked in this type of industry before, I must say that he is very unorganized. He couldn't find our shoes and I noticed that my shoes weren't bagged when he was done. Yet the other pairs for other customers were. I analyzed the shoes and noticed one of the pairs had a discoloration. Upon looking closer it was glue! We pointed it out and the guy laughed and said "No, I didn't do it. This is you scratching the shoe." He couldn't look at us when he said it. And I know that if a shoe is scratched, there wouldn't be bubble marks on it. Indefinitely, it was glue. Coming home I had to google on how to take shoe glue off. I took acetone nail polish and soften the spot that was marked. Sure enough, I pulled the substance off and it was glue! I give the place 1 star because of the professional and honesty. He was not professional when pointing out the flaw. Instead he blamed it on the customer and didn't even offer to help make it better. We even asked him and he said no. Which confirms that he knew exactly what happened. I don't like working with people that does that, it's like cheating for your money. I'd think twice before bringing your shoes here. Even after removing the glue, you can see the discoloring. Disappointed. read more

I only gave a two star review due to the friendliness and prompt service. This may be a good option for standard shoes but for serious boots I would seek elsewhere. After spending $80 to have one boot re-soled, the sole delaminated after one ride. I figured since the repair was done less than 30 days and failed after one time usage there would be some sort of warranty but there was not. He offered to re glue for $50 but I don't understand why I would spend more money just to have it most likely fail again. read more

I just picked up my boots and had to share about the wonderful experience I had. I had read other great Yelp reviews but failed to see the pre-pay cash only advice others had posted. When I showed up to drop off my boots, I happened to see his signs about pre-paying. I was able to drop off my shoes and come back in to pay. I mistakenly did not calculate for tax when I went to the ATM so when I came back I was a little over $2 short and he told me not to worry about it. When I dropped off the boots, I had worn the heel down and the front of the boots were starting to split open. He fixed everything and more!
