Because of this question, which was unsolicited, my medical insurance was billed in addition to vision. When I questioned the charge, the billing manager told me that I must have forgotten the conversation because they always communicate things like that very clearly. The only thing communicated was that I should continue doing what I'm already doing. Before this conversation I even made a point of saying I didn't want one of their services - something to do with a picture of my eyes for health - because it wasn't covered under vision insurance. I'm disgusted with the experience and feel like I've been scammed! There's nothing routine about a routine exam from Front Range Eye Associate!

I had a great experience here. I needed to have my eyes evaluated for a new prescription as it has…read morebeen a while since I got new glasses. The entire process was easy and fast. The exam was thorough, Dr. Goshinska is awesome and explained every test that she conducted. After a thorough evaluation, she made my prescription recommendations and gave me two options (a progressive lens, or just an update to my current prescription.) As I am starting to have trouble seeing things up-close too, I chose the progressive. I did not purchase new frames here; I kept my originals. The next step in the process is that they take measurements of your line of vision and eye, so that they know how to build the lenses. The optometrist who did this was also awesome. Fun to talk to. Next, they order the new lenses and they take about a week to come in. I did not have to leave my glasses there. Instead, they called me to let me know when the lenses were ready, so I dropped off my frames to have the new lenses put in. This is the awesome part! I dropped them off on a Friday eve so that I would be without my glasses for a minimal number of my work days. (I use them for the computer.) Imagine my pleasant surprise when I found that the glasses would be turned around for me by Saturday! I picked them up the NEXT DAY less than 24hrs later! I had a terrible experience with Visionworks Lakewood where it took over a week so i was gun shy... but this was amazing. The exam was $49 with my insurance and my new lenses around $400. (Again, did not purchase new frames.) They do charge you $45 for using your own glasses which is lame, but what can I do. I had a great experience and I will be back in a year!

Noticed the most recent review only took them 7 days to receive their prescription. What gives? (Dave?) needs to understand when a customer calls not once but twice to find out if their glasses are ready, customer service has been neglected, and when they finally arrive past the quoted timeframe and no attempt to make it right, not even an apology, learn some empathy.

From Kara who does the initial intake (and still remembered me back from my first visits in 2010) to the Doctor herself I feel comfortable, at home, and give her my complete trust in my vision. So I LOVE Dr. Murphy and still drive from Southeast Aurora to her practice for my annual checkups. The only area in which she could improve is her back office staff. I seem to always have issues with requests not being fulfilled until the 2nd or 3rd attempt. This could be enough to turn away new or established patients. I have had to ask 2-3 times for my Optomap images before they are sent. I have asked for a billing credit that I am not sure has still been applied. These all make patients very frustrated and negate all the excellent work the Doctor provides. So Dr. Murphy and Kara get a full five stars... the practice could use some work and gets 4 for now.

A couple years ago, they did not quite get the prescription right and it had to be adjusted a few times. Although still a little fuzzy, I decided I could live with it. During my most recent visit, they did not want to make any changes, and actually wanted to send me home with a reduced prescription. I decided to just try to deal with it for a couple weeks, but my uncorrected vision was becoming problematic. When I brought up my concerns, the response was disappointing. They did not answer the question, their response did not make sense, and it was essentially dismissive. Heartbreak. Of course, they have a right to stand by their own professional opinion, and think they have the best intentions. After a month of dealing with inadequate vision after my appt with them, and realizing they did not want to provide any help or timely improvements, I ended up paying out of pocket to go see another eye doctor for a second opinion. In this way, I feel like they "stole" my annual eye exam that I get through vision insurance every year. After this experience, a friend who had gone there because I went there, related that they had some difficulties with this place as well. My friend requires glasses with a slight prescription for occupational reasons. While the doctor was very personable, and found need for slight correction, they were reluctant to do a glasses prescription. (One of the main reasons for going to the eye doctor, right?) After some insistence, my friend finally got set up with glasses, that they even paid good money for to get through this place's optical center. The bad experiences with this place are a shame because they seem personable enough, location is good, beautiful office - but, after giving them several chances, some of the things they do don't make any sense and, at the end of the day, what really matters is lacking.

There are as I read the reviews, different locations. Can't say with all of the years we have been going, that I've seen or experience some of comments others have had. There are certainly many places to have exams and such done, and if we experience what some of the folks have experienced, we would of gone elsewhere. But we haven't, and now almost 25 years from when we first went there, I and my wife will continue to go to the Broomfield Colorado Eye Center.
