You would think they would look at the house BEFORE i signed the papers. The best part: I asked "now what?" And they did not provide options - just a countdown to when the policy expired. On my own, I called insurers with State Farm's reason for dropping the house within a month. I found a company that encouraged more details about the house and said that it was well taken care of and decided to insure it. Do not contact Mark Zion State Farm- definitely not the definition of Aloha.

After ringing around and finding that most insurance companies wouldn't insure the house (it is within 1,000 ft of the beach), or that the agents didn't bother to return my call or send an email as promised, or suggested we call into the office we were beginning to worry that insurance would be a big problem for us. After trying 5 other companies/agents (recommended on Yelp!) with no result I rang Wayne and left a message on his answerphone. He called back within 10 minutes, was very personable, professional, positive and helpful and had the situation totally under control. He took some information down over the phone, then emailed a quote within the hour. After another phone call we had narrowed down the coverage we wanted and he emailed the papers for signature over to us to sign, scan and email back. He also posted the documentation which arrived within days to our CA address. The whole thing went smoothly and Wayne was a joy to work with. I can't understand how Wayne isn't already listed on Yelp! I would definitely recommend Wayne to anyone on Maui who needs house insurance, especially if you are on the mainland.

This Farmer's office is located inside of Walmart Kahului near the main cash registers.  It's a…read moretiny office that handles only policy questions, start up's, changes and cancelations.  No claims can be filed here, unfortunately.   EXPERIENCE: I actually started out with AIG Insurance which was bought out by Farmers (in Hawaii anyway) years ago.  After getting off of my parent's AARP insurance, AIG's/Farmer's rates were favorable for similar coverage which is why I've been with them all these years.  When I filed a claim a few years and two vehicles ago, I was lucky enough to not have to pay a deductible as the other driver's policy was under the same company which zeroed both of us out.  Response time and coordination of body work and car rental was quick and efficient.    My policy premium slowly lessened over the years but for some reason is slowly going up currently with no recent claims on a vehicle that's going on five years old.  I may need to look elsewhere if it continues to do so. But, I do like that I can speak to a company rep based in Hawaii as the local service is always superior to the mainland.   TIP: Most recently, while I'm still covered under Farmer's, my new insurance cards state "21st Century Insurance" which is part of the Farmer's Group. OVERALL: Nothing to complain about aside from the very slight bump up in my premium.

I,…read morelike millions of other Americans wanted to take advantage of the historically low interest rates and refinance my existing mortgage. I had heard of Brady over the years from friends who had worked with him - all of which were positive reviews. I decided to give Brady a call to ask his opinion on my situation and whether refinancing was a good fit for me. With Brady's help, the answer was yes - a no brainer. I started the process right away, and momentum was gained. Things moved along nicely for the first couple weeks, and then communication tapered a bit. I reached out to the team a few times and never got any relevant responses, and the process started becoming a little frustrating. Brady reached out directly to me to explain the situation that the system was overwhelmed, as there are millions of people just like me refinancing at this time. Brady did not use the overwhelmed system as a justification, but rather maintained his integrity and took initiative to steer the process back on course. The process went smooth from that point on - a matter of me fulfilling the underwriting requirements to secure the final approval and head to closing. My mortgage was recorded today, and I could not be more excited about what Brady and his team helped me secure. If anyone ever asks me directly or indirectly if I would recommend a lender, I will absolutely share my experience and recommend Brady and his team.
