Unfortunately today I received a notification of "collections" for $4.88. It was a bill for renters insurance that was canceled two days previously. In fact a woman called me to confirm this cancellation and did not mention anything about a balance due. But then to get my credit threatened is beyond acceptable. Totally incompetent or miscommunication would be the only excuse but when working through an app (not the direct person), things like this should never happen. I will find a new insurance policy on Monday for both cars and Home Owners. You can't undo a threat- EVER!

Also, I tend to get myself into weird situations and have an active imagination so I will often ask my agent ridiculous questions. Example, I was going on a trip to Portland during the dead of winter. My concern was that I have no idea how to drive in ice/snow. What if I'm driving up a hill and lose traction, my rental car careens down said hill and strikes multiple vehicles on the way down. Does that count as one claim or multiple claims? Is this something a normal person concerns themselves with, absolutely not. Does an insurance agent want to deal with said questions, absolutely not. But Lindsey Morihiro has been a true blessing, she is patient and eager to answer any questions. She goes above and beyond to help me find the proper insurance package for me and my unique needs. When I had to file a claim it was a breeze, what would normally be a tedious process dealing with some jamoke in Iowa with a national firm. Going with a big company you are just a policy number and dollar amount. With Lindsey its Ohana, no one gets left behind or forgotten. 10/10 would return.

The insurance broker, David Gerlach does not seem to be able to provide any remedy. It seems as if he is accepting the fact that the insurance would not pay and does not help our HOA to get our $100K+ losses covered. I was hoping for more support from a commercial insurance agent.

After ringing around and finding that most insurance companies wouldn't insure the house (it is within 1,000 ft of the beach), or that the agents didn't bother to return my call or send an email as promised, or suggested we call into the office we were beginning to worry that insurance would be a big problem for us. After trying 5 other companies/agents (recommended on Yelp!) with no result I rang Wayne and left a message on his answerphone. He called back within 10 minutes, was very personable, professional, positive and helpful and had the situation totally under control. He took some information down over the phone, then emailed a quote within the hour. After another phone call we had narrowed down the coverage we wanted and he emailed the papers for signature over to us to sign, scan and email back. He also posted the documentation which arrived within days to our CA address. The whole thing went smoothly and Wayne was a joy to work with. I can't understand how Wayne isn't already listed on Yelp! I would definitely recommend Wayne to anyone on Maui who needs house insurance, especially if you are on the mainland.
